J Scott Paving

Mr. John Scott and his crew did a fine job on installing the new surface on our driveway. I would recommend J Scott Paving to everyone based on our experience.

He was great. I got an original estimate from him and I didn't call him back for months because of other scheduling but I called them back and in a couple weeks he scheduled in and guys came in and did it in one day. He did a great job.

They were very professional. The price was the same as the others. The amount of asphalt they were going to use was a bit lax. They were very professional and answered all of my questions. They knew their craft.

J Scott Paving were fine, but I was having some concerns about some slate that I had going down the side of my driveway. They were very professional. I would get a quote or use them in the future.

J Scott Paving did a great job, a great job. He trimmed away the excess grass on the side, got all the grass off of the cracks and everything, and cleaned up all around the area when he left. Made it look really clean. Made it look brand new.

Our house has had significant drainage issues and Mr. Scott was able to meet with us and discuss these in detail so that the driveway met our needs. His crew was excellent and seemed quite skilled at their jobs. In addition, he was able to scramble and help us fill the pit left by the garage demo. We had not anticipated the size of the pit and this was especially important to us as we felt that this pit could possibly re-direct water toward the house. In addition, Hurricane Sandy was coming in a few days. He could have left us in lurch, especially given the time frame. He did not and it was much appreciated. Furthermore, the driveway and fill drained perfectly, not a drop into the house. Overall, this was one of the most professional, courteous, and all around excellent contractors I have ever worked with.

Right now, I can say they were very quick. They had the estimate for me in 2 days. They explained it to me right over the phone. They gave me an estimate based on what I told them what I wanted to do. They were prompt. I do not have the funds yet to do the work yet.

I left a message to receive an estimate for my driveway but the call was never returned.

He was more polite than others I talked to about this project. However, he still told me that the project was too small to justify sending someone out. He was hard to get in touch with - I'd call & he'd call back days later. I'd always talk to a machine; it seemed like we were always communicating through voicemail.

Everything went well and as planned.

Not much to say other than this work needs tobe scheudled around weather (need sunny days).

John had done a neighbor's driveway and had left us his card. We called for an estimate, and had it in our hands less than 48 hours after the call. Once we decided that he was our choice, we called and left a message. He returned the call the next day and told us it would be approximately 1 week later that he would be able to do the work. John's schedule and the weather were with us, though. Just a few days later, he called first thing in the morning asking if he could do our driveway that day. We were very pleased he could do the work earlier than expected. The crew arrived a couple hours later and got right to work sealing the cracks and seal coating the driveway. John let us know that he found out the asphalt supplier was not working that day, so he and his crew completed the everything but the patching. He came back early the next week, once the asphalt supplier was back from holiday to complete the patching. The work was neat, complete and well done. We would definitely work with him again.

He was very professional and he did one down the street that looks great.

We purposely have waited 6 months before writing this review in order to see how our new driveway fared over some time. J. Scott Paving was hired to renovate and repave our driveway, replace the concrete driveway apron and to replace a number of cracked sidewalk blocks as well. The project also included installing paver blocks as part of the driveway design. We interviewed almost 10 different paving companies before selecting J. Scott. The range of opinions on what needed to get done was across the entire scale. Some said we just needed to repave, others said we needed to completely remove old driveway, replace sublayers and then pave. And some proposed a little of both. We did not know who to believe. Until we met George Scott at J. Scott Paving. George was the only one who very specifically and confidently told us what was wrong with our driveway, why it was in the state it was in, and what would be required to repair it. J. Scott Paving, led by George and his crews, did a FABULOUS job with our driveway. They were courteous to us and our neighbors, mindful of noise and debris and really are fine craftsmen in their own right. Attention to detail was top notch. It was as if George was having the driveway put in at his own house. The stonework is beautiful and the paving has been flawless. We would absolutely use J. Scott again and HIGHLY recommend them. Fantastic experience. Paid a premium for J. Scott but worth every dollar!

The experience with J. Scott Paving was very positive. From the quote to the finished product, I was pleased. The quote process was wonderful because Mr. Scott was straightforward with his pricing by giving us his best quote first avoiding the whole back and forth (this was compared against other quotes with varying materials and costs). Following that, Mr. Scott showed up with his crew and had the work done in one day and you'd barely know anyone had even been here. They went the extra mile in both professionalism and courtesy. I'm sure others would have done a fine job as well, but I am very pleased with the new driveway and even more pleased knowing should I need anything in the future, Mr. Scott and crew are good folks to do business with.

I called J Scott Paving after reading their reviews on Agnie's List. george Scott returned my call the sameday and set up an appointment to come out and give me an estimate to repave my 15 year old driveway. George gave me a detailed estimate of the work that would be done and what work I did not need. I reviewed his and 2 other estimates and decided to go with J Scott. I signed an agreement and asked if it was possible to repave the driveway while we were on vacation (6 weeks later). George said that would be no problem and said he would call the week before to confirm. Just as he said, he called on Thursday and said they would be out the next week to complete the job. We returned home to find a beautifully repaved driveway! J Scott and George did everything they said thy were going to do and the final cost was exactly what the estimaite was. I would definately recommend J Scott Paving and George Scott.

I wish all my home remodeling projects went this well. Everything was just great from beginning to end. From the estimate, explaining in detail the work that was to be performed, to the morning walk through and the workers that showed up were friendly and professional. I can't say enough about how well this went and the great job that was performed. I even needed some concrete curbing work done because I was widening the entrance to the driveway. Even though they didn't do that kind of work, John Scott arranged to have it done at a very reasonable cost, below other estimates I received. I had received 3 other estimates for the driveway work before this one and while they were also more expensive, what really turned me off from the other companies was their attitudes. John Scott was great and I can't recommend his company enough, in fact, I have already recommended them to a coworker who lives in the same area.

George Scott was very prompt in returning my phone call. He came out to give us the estimate, which was middle of the ball park of five estimates we got. We liked it that he came back again and spoke directly with my husband who was not available when he came out the first time. We decided to postpone the job till the weather was cooler. What really made this an A+ experience was that George was able to squeeze us in at the last minute to get our driveway done while we were away on vacation. I literally called him the Thursday before we were to leave for a week long vacation. When we came back, the new driveway looked amazing! With recent downpour of rain, no standing water what so ever. The price quoted above was for removal of the old pavement and extension to the parking area at one end of a very long driveway. We are very pleased with their service and would recommend them highly.

Our driveway went very smoothly and we appreciated the on time arrivals, the care with the plants and moving the river jacks. I have recommended this company to our neighbors.

Came on time for estimate and gave a good price. Unfortunately the job was very sloppy and they left a big hole in my driveway. I could not get them to come back to fix it. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Prepared the surface and took their time sealcoating our lot.Discussed with me a slight problem we were having with sinking areas and dealt successfully with it. Overall very satisfied!

J Scott and his men dug up and completely resurfaced our driveway this past Spring (2012)- they did a wonderful job. We moved into our house about a year and a half ago, fully aware that our driveway was a priority (it was badly cracked/crumbling and not really salvageable in any way). They doubled the width of the driveway and lined it with cobblestone pavers on both sides. It looks fantastic and completely transformed the look of the front of our house. Several of the surrounding neighbors came across to comment on how great it looked! The price was far better than any other quotes we received, and the work was done in a timely and efficient manner, which was greatly appreciated since we have busy work schedules at the moment. My husband and I would recommend J Scott to anyone looking to redo/resurface their driveways.

Excellent. I am most pleased as are the parishioners with the work that was performed. The price estimated was well within budget and will use them again.

We were out of town when the work was completed. There was one miscommunication problem that required more work to be done. The contractor took care of the mistake willingly without any additional charges. He took pride in his workmanship and insisted we were satisfied with the work before taking final payment. The job came out great. We were thrilled with the finished product.

John Scott provided a timely estimate which was the lowest of 3 other pavers. The work was shcedule quickly. His crew arrived on time and they were very effecient and polite. We were pleased with the look and qualityof their work.
