Description of Work: I contacted them, left 2 voicemails, to get an estimate. Calls, to this date, have not been returned. Service is moot at this point as I have moved on to get quotes from other firms. Called one this AM and he will be here by noon.

We got several estimates and chose J Scott Paving because John was detailed, knowledgeable, and dependable. He was quick to respond to any concerns we had .We are pleased with the result and will have them do any resealing in the future.

Description of Work: John provided the initial written estimate and explained very well how the work would be performed. A team of 5 or 6 arrived on time (John called the day before)and in less than 3 hours, we had a new high quality asphalt driveway. A very professional team that should be proud of their work.

Description of Work: J Scott performed a repaying of my long driving and parking pad behind my house. Their estimate was less than competitors and they were easy to deal with. Arrived when promised and completed the job on time and at estimated price. Driveway has held up well. Recently I had two holes pop up about 16 months after work was done. Apparently they are caused by mushrooms growing under the original asphalt work that the new driveway was put on top of. I called and someone came by that day and repaired the holes without charging me.

Description of Work: Had requested a quote from several driveway installers. One returned a call and that is where their contact ended and appeared that contractor had no interest. One other came out and gave a quote for what would have been a heavy duty street rather than a residential drive and was priced accordingly. At that point we felt that $6000.00 was better spent on other home improvements. That is when our six grown children got involved and suggested Angie's List and we contacted J. Scott. A price was negotiated by our oldest daughter (who seems able to squeeze blood from a stone} and our children made our driveway a combined birthday, mother's day and father's day gift. We are not supposed to know what was paid, but I found the receipt. The workmanship was professional and fast. From start to finish for a twenty by sixty foot drive was just over three hours. All the workers were friendly and courteous. The even paved a four by seven foot area under our porch where we keep our snow blower. The driveway is a residential drive and not one made to support heavy equipment, i.e. dump trucks, buses, or even RVs. It was pointed out that in hot weather things like BBQ grills with narrow legs or wheels can make dimples in the asphalt since ALL asphalt gets a little soft when hot. Our suggestion is that if something with narrow legs/wheels is to be stored is to obtain a 3 x 5 sheet of tile underlayment from Lowes or Home Depot (Aopprox. $11.00) and park the device on that. From start to finish, these guys were great to the extent that some time after the installation, they called to see if we were satisfied and if there was anything else they could do. Morris

Description of Work: I was given an estimate. I called to scheduled a time to have the work done. The person that answered the phone told me I needed to return the signed contract in order to schedule the work. I sent the contract, as requested, via email on 9/21. I never heard back from anyone. On 9/27 I called to check the status and Mr. Scott was very rude. He said no one calls back until they are ready to do the work and he had no idea when that might be. If the owner of the business can't give a rough idea of when they will start your work who can? NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!!

Description of Work: John Scott and receptionist Misty were always very professional on the phone. Mr. Scott came out in the time that was promised for an estimate. He left his cell if I had any questions; however, because of me, I missed his return call. I would highly recommend them for their professionalism and customer service. When you call , you always get a person , not a machine. Would of definitely hired him for the work because of initial contact experience and numerous excellent reviews. However, since there were five homes participating, I didn't realize a neighbor had already contracted someone for the job. I will definitely use j Scott Paving for my future jobs!

Description of Work: exczvated old driveway, put down new gravel base and put down new asphalt surface. They had some cost overruns but honored the original estimate. Very honorable.
