Prolific Painting

Nathan never showed, nor did he call. Multiple days of calls to his phone resulted in a message telling me “his voice mailbox was not set up, hang-up a try again”. I believe this is how Nathan screens calls that he doesn’t want to take. A simple “I’m too busy” or “I no longer do small jobs” would have been much appreciated. If he had the decency to be honest, I would have moved on and felt no need to write a negative review.

Promised to finish within two weeks, took more than two months. Promised that four people would be working, most of the time it was one or two people. Cheated on paint quality - claimed that Sherwin Williams Aspinwall manager was helping him by giving higher quality paint in lower quality paint cans. Didn't finish putting window fixtures back, painted windows and access boxes shut.

He came to my house and estimated the job and told me that he would get back to me either that night or the next day. I have never heard anything from him ever since. I sent a text message, but there was no answer. I called and left a message but there was no response.

I'm satisfied with the work. The crew was very nice to work with.

The team of Tom, Dan and Scott were very professional, courteous and friendly. They did a very good job in prepping the walls after removing the wallpaper which made for a smooth surface to paint. We love the end result.

Nate and his crew are absolutely amazing. They delivery high quality work with unparalleled customer service. I've never had such a positive experience. They were incredibly accommodating of my schedule, cleaned up everything, and checked in daily to make sure we were happy. I hadn't specified that I wanted a certain area done with oil initially but they redid it free of charge until it was exactly what I wanted. I didn't hesitate for a moment to leave them alone in my house. We can't wait to hire them again!

I've used them for multiple jobs. I've used them for interior jobs only. It was incredible, they did a lot of work for very little money. I called them back and gave them bigger jobs. So I was very satisfied with them. Nate is the owner, he is on the job site and his crew is superb. There is nothing that I can find that he should do to improve.

I will admit I am hard to please, but I am BLOWN AWAY with the painting/restoration this company has performed in my home. They painted every visible surface, plastered walls that needed repaired, refinished my original oak kitchen with a white finish, and have gone over my home with a fine tooth comb to ensure my satisfaction. Nate Conroy, the owner, could not be any kinder or more professional. His crews, especially Tommy and Michael Caldwell, are trustworthy, professional, and efficient. It's hard to know what to expect, having hired, then fired, other contractors already. To say that I am beyond pleased is an understatement! Thank you guys!

Amazingly! The bedroom was a bright green football field room when my son was small and is now the light taupe office. No easy task. Nate was super flexible with scheduling and helped me clear the room after I had an injury and couldn't do it. Would recommend him and plan to call on him again!

We could not have been more pleased. Nathan and his crew were very diligent, communicative, and hardworking. The job spanned several weeks and they were there each day starting early and finishing in the late afternoon. They showed extreme care and respect for our home, and were truly professional in getting the job done and being flexible and easy to work with when changes and surprises emerged. They were very thorough in doing job prep, masking, and cleanup. Nathan was very straightforward in his estimation of the job. He and his crew demonstrated honest and ethical workmanship. We would definitely hire them again and plan to do so when additional work is needed.

It went great! We were very satisfied. He was very neat and was in and out quickly. It was easy to make an appointment with the company as well.

After getting four estimates two were close in price for the same services. Both of these providers emailed me their bids and sent written estimates. I emailed Nate that I wanted him to do the work. He called me back and set up a tentative day. He called me two days before the work was done to inform me on what day Ned at what time he would arrive. The work was done with no fuss or muss and Nate cleaned up anywhere it was necessary. We took a walk around the whole house to be sure all work was done to my satisfaction. It was. Nate is a young man who has been in business for several years. He and his family live in my area and I like to use local people when I am able. Great job, Nate!

This is the second job I've hired Nate and Tom for and once again, total perfection. Punctional, responsive , total pros.

First of all, the men are very friendly and put up with my two dogs, which is gold star from me to begin with. More importantly, they showed up the exact time they said they would and worked to completion on the project. Our dining room had wall paper, which they removed, touched up the plaster in the dining room, primed the walls, and painted them beautifully. The living room is 16ft. x 23ft, with 17ft. ceilings, they painted the room and it looks amazing. The the house was built in 1929 and they repaired the plaster in the living room prior to its painting. Lastly, they painted the ceiling of our foyer and hallway , up the stairs and onto the 2nd floor and the crown molding. it all looks great, and I can't say enough as far as recommending them, they are just great. We will definitely use them again...and again...and again!

The main problem is that the company owner suggested flipping some damaged boards on my deck and then staining everything suggesting that the stain would cover the damage to the unturned boards, but it did not. I now have a mixture of really smooth and rough surfaces. I would think that the painters' experience would advise against this half measure approach. He should have flipped all the boards for a consistent look. Also, the workmen left a lot of drips on the concrete below. They took my ladder with them and left behind drop cloths. They cut back a tree that was touching the deck, but left a long part of the trunk when I had specifically asked that they cut it close to the base. They, also, threw deck boards into the woods behind my house without asking permission. In general the work was sloppy. For nearly $1700, I would expect my deck to look nice, but it doesn't. I sent the owner, Nate, several emails to ask him how to clean up the drips on my concrete and requesting that he return my ladder. It has been four weeks since they left, and he hasn't answered. (I had to paint two rooms in my home without my step ladder.) To conclude, the work was really lacking, and the professionalism very poor. Their broom and drop cloths are still sitting on my patio, (and my ladder remains unreturned).

it went wonderfully.well. The painters Nate and his associates were absolutely wonderful. Most of the work was done by Tom and his assistant and they were professional and thorough. All the wallpaper was scraped off and sanded. There were some areas where an unknown glue was used and it took additional time for proper removal, but it was perfect..the baseboards were removed and this was quite difficult since they were screwed into metal studs in the wall. All defects were repaired, the painting and cutting in was perfect. The Doors and jams were painted and one bathroom door was completely stripped and refinished because of damage from steam. It turned out perfectly. They arrived on time, worked hard and were extremely pleasant. The rooms looked fantastic when they were finished. I think their price was very reasonable and the workmanship was excellent. I would not hesitate for one minute to recommend them to anyone. Fabulous job!

Tom's attention to detail is remarkable. They removed all the carpeting in the areas, disposed of it and moved all my furniture into the garage. They sanded the floors and stairways and paid meticulous attention to filling all the holes left from the carpeting staples and tack strips. After all the sanding was done they started the painting. There were problems with gaps on the steps because of the age of the house, and Tom and Nate took the time to correct all the issues. The stairway looks brand new! I wanted a detailed paint job on the railing and Tom was very diligent in his work, paying great attention to detail. After all the work was done, they carefully moved the furniture back into the house. I am so happy I found a company I can count on. They were very punctual and Nate kept in touch checking to see if I was happy with the work. ... Update. After checking some things out I did notice that some of the painting was incomplete, some of the baseboards were not sanded and were painted over and look very rough. I will take partial blame for this as I should have checked things out better before they left. Also, the garage was not cleaned out from all the debris they left, lots of nails left on the garage floor. Again I should have checked before they left. There was a young helper and it was apparent he needed to be instructed on what to do. I will continue to use this company again, I'll just be a little more vigilant.

Contacted them several times, but no one ever got back to me. Sent emails from Angie's list, still never heard back from the company. Service was never performed.

Tom did a great job! I'll definitely be coming back to Prolific Painting when I need more work done. I purchased the half-day coupons over a year ago, planning to get some drywall fixed, but I used them instead for getting our kitchen, hallway, and wood-panelled dining room painted. It took three days total, with the two coupons each good for half a day. Nate only charged $530 for the two extra days of painting! I honestly thought Tom had the wrong price when he told me the price Nate quoted him. The work itself was top-notch; Tom patched up our kitchen ceiling where a track lighting fixture had been removed, and smoothed out some dimples on our old plaster walls. In the kitchen, I can't find a trace of the old dayglo orange color by the cabinets or the seam where the wall meets the counter. All in all, everything looks fantastic. Very pleased!

They are on time and they are courteous. They are a great company and anyone should hire them.

Prolific Painting did a wonderful job! They were friendly and respectful of both me and my home. Nate remembered me mentioning during his visit for the estimate that we had just replaced our baseboard so they taped it off even though we were just having the ceilings painted. He just wanted to be extra careful. We have textured ceilings and walls but they were able to keep a perfect cut line so the ceilings look great. Nate also patched a hole in our ceiling from a plumbing leak repair and was able to blend in the texture with the rest of the ceiling. You would never know it was there. Highly recommend them for any paint or plaster repair job. We will definitely use Prolific Painting for all of our future painting.

When Nathan came to our house to give us the estimate for the project , he assured us of a thorough job. We have a 90 year old home. Nathan said that he was going to scrape existing paint, patch, sand, prime and paint. Some scraping was done. Not enough. Even less patching and sanding was done. When Nathan and his crew painted, it was with inferior paint, or simply done incorrectly. The paint used is a very flat paint; not appropriate for exterior jobs. We now have blistering paint on many areas- on new wood as well as old. When it rains, the water leaves marks on the newly painted exterior. On our original back storm door, the old paint was not scraped and sanded as it needed to be, and now with the extra paint on top, we are unable to close the door properly. On our original front storm door, with the original brass hardware, they painted all of the brass hardware. Some of the window wells were painted, most were not. Weather stripping was removed and not put back on. As for the interior, the wood trim was not sanded and wiped. Therefore, the flat paint that was applied to the trim is rough. When I commented on the wrong paint used on the trim, they tried to tell me that flat paint is best on trim. This is not the first time that we have had a house painted. We have also done plenty of painting ourselves. Because of prolific painting, we have splattered paint on our hardwood floors and on a stained wood door. We addressed ALL of these issues with Nathan. As for the exterior, he tried all sorts of excuses. At one point, he sent a young, inexperienced painter to do the walk through with my husband and I. Nathan didn't even come to the house. Words can't even describe how upset we are that we will now have to hire a professional to do twice the work to get our house looking like we had hoped that it would.

This is the second time using prolific painting to do work at my home. I had hoped I would get the same professional and quality work as I did receive the first time, that's exactly what I received again. Nathan and his crew painted multiple rooms in my home. They did an excellent job from start to finish and I couldn't be any happier with the finish product. I'm very hesitant choosing workers to come into my home. So It's great to know that there are still excellent companys out there like prolific painting.

They did an excellent job. The moved all furniture, removed curtain rods, and covered all to prevent paint spatter. two coats were put on all surfaces. They thoroughly cleaned up after painting. All work was of excellent quality. The moved all furniture back and installed curtain rods.

They came out and looked at the job we had wanted done. The job was too big of a job to be covered by the deal. We needed more work than they could provide. They were able to refund the cost to us and refer us to their subcontractor who could complete the work.
