I woke up on a Saturday morning to extremely low water pressure and water seeping into my basement thru my foundation. I first called a regular plumber and was told it would cost $8k, take 3-4 days, and that they would need to tear up my sidewalk, destroy my concrete porch steps and tear up my wooden porch floor. After a referral from a friend, I called Dash Mechanical and left a message on their emergency contact number. I received a return call in about 3 minutes. The guy was at his kid's wrestling tournament & still took the time to call me right back! He told me that he could be out to fix my issue that Monday, he would get the necessary paperwork filed with the utilities that evening, they would use a tool that would only require a small hole to be dug, and they could have the whole job done in a day. He estimated the job at $2500. Two extremely professional and nice guys arrived and started working first thing Monday morning. They answered my questions, didn't seem to mind my curiosity, and kept me informed of what they were doing in a very pleasant professional manner. They had the pipe replaced, the small hole in my basement patched with concrete and the small access hole in the sidewalk filled with earth & gravel in just a few hours. Due to the weather which was very cold and rainy that day, they explained that while they would normally have the job done in a single day, they would need to come back the next morning to finish in order for the concrete sidewalk to properly cure. That was fine with me. They next morning they were there bright & early again and finished up. As I was leaving for work that morning, I asked them if they could cover the fresh concrete in some way to prevent vandals from messing up the wet cement. They said that they were going to cover it for 24 hours anyway to make sure it set correctly so no worries. They came back the next morning and retrieved their covers. the finished job looks great. other than the new concrete being a different color than the old around it (which I expected) you'd never know that it had been disturbed. I was waiting for the bill before writing my review and that arrived today. My ONLY reason for rating them a B on price rather than an A is because the bill I received is $446 over the estimate I was quoted. I can't complain too much about that because his estimate was over the phone without looking at the job in person, and it is still thousands less than what the first plumber told me. Everything was of the highest quality and professionalism and the work done and timeline it was completed in was worth the amount billed, I would just rather have been told $3k as my estimate and have the bill come in lower than to expect a bill of $2500 and then receive an actual bill for $2946.42. I would definitely recommend Dash Mechanical to anyone in need of similar services.
