Arrived on time, prepared with all the tools he would need to inspect the home inside and out. Extremely professional, explained everything he found, took photos, and had suggestions for repair. Sent us a detailed report and follow up email. Was happy to take a phone call post inspection in case we had any questions.

I first research Nick Ostrowski of Strong Foundations Home Inspection on the website and after reading all of the good ratings I decided to call an speak with Nick. Nick was very professional on the phone and promptly set up an appointment with me for July 10, 2012 at 9 AM. On that date, Mike from D-Tech Environmental arrived first before 9 AM and quickly went to work on looking over the home. Nick arrived on time shortly thereafter and began an extensive review of the home leaving no stone unturned. Nick answered all of my questions and then some. He took several photos and was detailed in his explanations. I was truly impressed with Nick's professionalism and expertise. He spent 4 hours at the property and delivered via email to me the next day a detailed report of his findings. I want to ensure anyone that is looking for a home inspector that you would not go wrong in choosing Nick Ostrowski of Strong Foundations Home Inspection.

My wife and I are currently buying our first home. We found Nick on Angie's List, and are so happy we did! Nick arrived early and quickly got to work. Nick is very personable, and we learned more about the house in 3 1/2 hours than we would've uncovered in years on our own. You won't be disappointed! The report arrived promptly, was easy to understand, and included pictures of any notable items. My wife commented that she was very impressed with Nick - he treated her with respect, didn't talk down to her, and was so helpful in addressing her questions and concerns. She didn't feel treated like the "little lady," which unfortunately happens all too often when dealing with home issues. Thanks Nick, you rock!

Very well. We were working with an excellent home builder who was very responsive. He took the entire report prepared by Nick and completed all action items without question. Because Nick clearly showed us each item, my husband and I were able to quickly re-inspect all repaired items prior to our closing and ensure the house was in great shape for closing. We closed on our house and feel very secure in knowing that there are no major defects or any other issues that need to be resolved.

Home Inspection and Radon Test. Nick is A#1+++. From the call to set up a test dated, Nick returned my call promptly and explained what would be done and all costs. No hiden cost or problems. Arrived right on the appointment inspection time and went right to work. Out side home inspection, roof top inspection of second and first floors roofs. Moved inside and pointed out problem areas as he went along. Basement and first floor radon test also. Inspection on a Friday, emailed detailed report on Saturday morning with many pictures and suggestions of what to do to correct problems. I would most definitely use and recommened Nick again and to anyone else.

Nick did an excellent job for me and I highly recommend using him for your home inspection. Having some experience in looking at homes I felt very confident in everything Nick was saying and appreciated his thorough detail. He was early to the appointment, polite, and did not try to highbrow the conversation beyond my scope of understanding. We spent about 3 and 1/2 hours for the inspection and looked at everything possible (it was too cool outside for an A/C inspection, bummer). Nick was super thorough in his inspection taking plenty of digital pictures and even voice recorded notes and observations for his official report. The Pest and Radon inspection was done by a 3rd party and I was very pleased with their services as well. Thank you Nick for helping me on my first home inspection. Pros: Polite, Punctual, Knowledgeable, and Thorough. Cons: The final reports (Home inspection and Radon/Pest) were delivered electronically (Pro) but about a day later than what was discussed; which was not a big deal to me but my realtor was being impatient.

Nick was very thorough. The inspection took six full hours and I felt confident that he didn't miss anything. He checked out everything he could including hard to access crawl spaces. He was easy to contact and responsive even after the inspection. The only thing that I think he could improve would be the actual inspection report, which doesn't reflect all of the work he does and is more a list of notes and highlights.

My husband and I decided to go with Strong Foundations after some research and comparing information from different companies. We liked that Strong Foundations was independent and had a no conflict pledge - we wanted to make sure we hired a home inspector who did not have anyone else's interests to consider. Nick was very responsive by email and phone and provided a lot of detail about the inspection as well as a sample report and inspection agreement. We liked that his sample report was no-nonsense - it got to what you really want to know and stated the information clearly. A lot of other companies seem to add a lot of generic information into their forms to make them look more impressive but really it just takes longer to get to what you need to. It was easy to schedule the appointment. Nick unfortunately got stuck in the unpredictable traffic that is 76 on the way there, so the inspection started later than scheduled, but this was beyond his control. Once he arrived we were really impressed by how thorough he was. He notes EVERYTHING he sees - lots of things I think other inspectors would not think about or notice. Nick was very agile and could squeeze into tight areas that other inspectors might not have been willing to evaluate. During the inspection Nick explained the problems and repairs in clear language so that it was easy to understand for people like us that have no experience doing home maintenance. He also gave good general maintenance tips for various parts/systems in the house throughout the inspection, including showing us different emergency shut off procedures for things such as the furnace, water heater, gas line, etc. I am absolutely glad we attended in person. His report and grading system was really easy to understand and helped us decide what to ask the sellers to repair. He emailed the report out to us the next morning, complete with digital photos of problems he noted. It really explained the problems well. He also made sure we got an email copy of the subcontractor's reports (radon and wood destroying insect/termite) as well, since the radon takes 2 days to get the results. We absolutely would use him again for another home inspection in the future!

They were awesome and the inspector was very through. He found things that had been wrong that we didn't know about that our original inspector missed. He was very professional and we liked him a lot. I will use him again in the future.

Nick was very thorough and professional. He answered all of our questions and helped explain the different systems. We went from being unsure of the house to feeling fully comfortable with what needs to be done, what can wait, and what to expect in the future. We would no doubt use Nick again!

Excellent communication, punctual, thorough inspection and report. Reasonably priced compared to other estimates. We liked the idea that he is independent and not "tied" to any particular realtor - he wasn't basing his inspections on trying not to let the deal fall through - he had no interest in "passing" or "failing" the home inspection.

He also brought a subcontractor to do termite inspection. He was top notch. He was very thorough and very professional. He was prompt and explained things. The service was value for money.

First of all, Nick is a likable and normal guy without an ego - he is quite capable and knowledgeable. On time - super duper professional. Both times he climbed on roofs - the 2nd time the roof was super steep - he is fearless - glad he went up on roof because he caught a major leak coming from roof into dining room wall which he later verified with his moisture meter saving me 2K. Nick is one of only a handful of home inspectors who does not solicit Realtors - he makes it a point to represent the Buyer rather than trying to drum up business.

Nick ended up inspecting 2 houses for us. The first one had a serious structural flaw, which we wouldn't have known about without Nick's inspection. Nick spent about 4 hours on each inspection. Both times he was very thorough, very clear, and his report included everything we needed for decision making, including photos and price range for repairs. During the inspections, Nick was pleasant and more than willing to answer any questions.

My husband and I were pleased with Nick's work. We have had one other inspection, which we thought was good, but not even comparable to Nick's work. We didn't feel rushed, we got all our questions answered, and we will call Nick if we have any questions knowing that he will give an honest answer. He showed no bias and pointed to problems without trying to affect our decision on the purchase of the home.
