Rich's Rugs

I had a home in Center City Phila that had two areas that needed carpeting urgently in order to show the home for sale. Rich met me and provided firm prices for carpeting and vinyl flooring. He gave me a carpet sample board to show my wife to help in the selection. We selected carpet and Rich and one helper purchased all material and installed in less than three business days. The installation looked great, Rich was very careful not to scratch or mar my existing hardwood floors or any of the wall surfaces. He swept and cleaned all work areas. I was very happy with his service and would not hesitate to use Rich's Rugs again!

Rich was very helpful in the selection of the carpet; and he was prompt on that occasion, as well as on installation day. On both occasions he called ahead to let us know exactly when he would arrive. Everything happened as scheduled. The quality of the work is excellent; and Rich and crew are very personable and considerate of the buyer's situation. Moving the furniture as needed was also done very carefully. Rich also called a few days later to make sure we were satisfied with the work done. A special "shout-out" to Kyle, who loved our coffee. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. We would recommend Rich's Rugs highly.

Rich was prompt and friendly, very easy to deal with. Work was completed with great craftsmanship and the quality of the carpet he used was outstanding. Work for the first job was done within the two business days that were quoted; the second job was done in one day. The second job we had one room that we decided to keep the original carpet...my husband dumped over a gallon of paint in that room the night before our tenant moved in. We called Rich in a panic and he came out and installed carpet the next day, coordinating with our Tenant and their moving schedule.

I am one satisfied customer! Rich and his son came out on Saturday to re-stretch my living room and dining room rugs. They are hardworking and very courteous gentlemen. They took special care moving my furniture. They were on-time and on budget! I will definitely call Rich?s Rugs when I?m reading to get new rugs in the family room.

Rich was one of the most professional people I have dealt with since moving to this area. He was on time for the initial estimate which he scheduled on a Sunday morning to accommodate my crazy schedule. I wanted to rip up the hallway runner to see whta the floor looked like under before deciding on replacing the runner and he offered to do it that day with no contract signed at all just because "it was the nice thing to do". Amazing. We ended up signing with Rich and he promised to call that Monday with an update when the carpet was ordered which he did. He then called again when the carpet came in and again as promised after the binding was done to schedule a date/time. Rich and his crew showed up on time exactly for the install and did a fantastic job. He put a lot of though into the installation including making sure the pattern on the stair runner was straight across the stairs and lined up appropriately. He also talked to me about saving the extra in the event we need to replace a piece of the rug (we have cats who LOVE to claw at carpet). They cleaned up well and everything far exceeded my expectations. We will definitely use Rich again for other flooring needs.

Rich called us and showed up on time. He showed us carpet and explained in detail how he would install the carpet. Although we did not see the type of carpet we wanted Rich provided us with the address of the company he uses for carpet samples. We are planning to go to the store in the future and price carpet. If we find something we like we will not hesitate to call Rich to install the carpet. So many contractors never show up or could care less about the customer. Our meeting with Rich was a pleasure. In fact a new neighbor moving on my block is also considering hiring Rich. She was also impressed with his knowledge and professionalism.

After careful consideration and after acquiring numerous estimates from contractors listed on Angie's List, my husband and I decided to award Rich Stein from Rich's Rugs the contract to install new carpeting in our home. Rich and his crew were very prompt, courteous and professional. They displayed proficiency in their line of work, knowing exactly what we wanted and how to do it. They were careful with our furniture while moving it. There was no mess left behind for us to clean up. We would recommend Rich Stein to any of our family and friends. Wonderful job. We are very pleased.

We called Rich's Rugs in the morning and he said he would stop by our house on his way home from his current job to look at the carpet and give us an estimate. He called around 4:30 to let us know he was on his way and showed up about 15 minutes later. He took a look at the ripples in our carpet and explained what he would have to do, how long it would take and how much it would cost. We agreed to schedule the repair and he said he could do it right away. In less than an hour and a half, the carpet was stretched and re-laid to perfection. It looks great and we are very happy with the results. Rich also brought in his own vacuum cleaner and vacuumed the repaired area. He was very pleasant and professional - I would definitely recommend his services.

In April, we had Rich come over to show us some carpet samples and give us an estimate for carpeting in two areas of our home. We had previously had Empire come in to do an estimate and Rich was our second round of estimates. Rich came out within a day and his estimate blew Empire away - not only was the carpet that we chose better quality but the price was HALF of what Empire was offering with a so called sale. Besides the price, Rich's knowledge about the carpet and install process combined with his professional and warm personality sealed the deal for us. Fast forward almost 5 months (we were doing remodel work and were finally ready for carpet) and we called Rich to see when he was available for the install. He still had a record of all of our notes and was able to come out within a week of calling him to schedule the install appointment. He rushed around to get all of our materials and even pulled some strings to get our carpet runner for the stairs bound on time. Needless to say, we were very impressed with the fast service given how busy Rich and his team are with other appointments. We had our carpet installed today and let me say...it is GORGEOUS! Rich and his team arrived on time and finished the install in about 4 and a half hours which was faster than we expected for such a large room. The carpet is amazing, with no visible seams or pulls. We recently spent a lot of time painting the room so Rich was careful not to damage the walls during the install (which was very much appreciated). When the install was finished Rich's team left the place so clean that you wouldn't have even known work was done in the room today. I really can't say enough about Rich and his team except that when we are ready to carpet the basement of our home we will absolutely be calling Rich again. He does his work with pride and cares about his customers as if he was installing carpet in his own home. You can't go wrong with Rich's Rugs!

From the beginning, Rich was very professional and completely friendly. He showed up exactly when he said he would, he explained every detail of the job and was very helpful with any questions that I had. I wasn't home while they installed the carpet however, I came home to neatly tied up bundles of old carpet and padding- placed in my back yard and everything was completely clean. I just had my upstairs painted and asked him to please be careful and there was not one scratch on anything. Very impressed and happy. Thanks Rich!

We had some damage to an existing carpet, and we had to have new carpet and padding installed over a concrete slab in what used to be a garage. We had two companies come over and give us estimates, but we went with Rich because he had the better price and seemed to care more about the quality of the work. He did try and upsell us to a better carpet, but I got the impression that he genuinely thought the higher quality carpet was a better product and wanted the job to look good. Since we don't use the room that often we went with the lower quality carpet, but I was still very happy with the result. It's a family business and they obviously take the quality of workmanship seriously. Rich showed up with two other people on-time and finished the job in around 3 hours. They replaced some of the old tack strips event though the probably could have gotten away without it because he said they didn't look like they were in good shape. He also managed to hide some issues that we saw in the old carpet related to a lip at the edge of the concrete slab. All and all, he did quality work and an affordable price. I would highly recommenced him to anyone.

Rich's Rugs is a family business. They showed up on time, were professional, courteous an respectful. Rich suggested a certain type of carpet and it looks great! They cleaned up after themselves-even used their own vacuum-you would never know they were here. I would definitely use Rich's Rugs again.

Rich was great to work with. He responded quickly to my inquiry and set up an appointment without delay. When I talked to him, I informed him we were hoping the carpet could just be repaired but were willing to replace it if needed. Rich never pushed us to replace the carpet, even though that would obviously have been more lucrative for him. Rich arrived promptly on the day of our appointment. He brought carpet samples of every grade, measured all the rooms and gave us his estimate for the replacement. However, as he measured and worked he told us that the carpet actually looked to be in great condition and he didn't think it was necessary to replace it. He thought it would be more cost effective and just as efficient to repair it. He then gave us an estimate for the repair, which was obviously several thousand dollars below the replacement cost. He then made an appointment to come back and do the repair (since he needed to bring in carpeting to replace the pieces he used to do the repair). Rich took the carpet out of the hall linen closet and used that to patch the holes the cats had made in the floor, including areas in the corner of the stairs I thought couldn't be fixed. He did an excellent repair job and it looked great when he was finished. He then used some carpeting he had available (which was actually higher grade than ours) to replace the piece he took out of the closet. He didn't even charge us for that piece of carpet. He charged us exactly what he quoted us, along with giving us the Angie's list discount. In addition to that, he gave us a reference to someone who could come and do the carpet shampoo for us if we decided to get that done. A few weeks after the repair, Rich called just to check in and see how things were with the carpet. I didn't get to talk to him as I was out of town when he called, but it definitely made a good impression on me and I thought that it was excellent customer service. I don't usually write long reviews, but I think Rich did an outstanding job and was very professional, and writing this review is just my way of saying thanks!

Rich did a professional job from beginning to end. We picked out our carpet and ordered it. On the day he was to install it he showed up on time with his crew, moved furniture, ripped up the old carpet, installed the new carpet and hauled away the trash. Rich made sure everything was perfect and clean before he left. We plan to install more carpet in the future and will definitely call Rich for the installation.

Rich = professional, honest, prompt, and puts the customer first. I will admit I was a little weary about deciding on carpeting from a guy in a van but we are sure glad we did! Rich is very upfront about what you are getting/not getting for the price. He calls to give you updates on your order, his arrival time and even followup. A great experience and we look forward to walking on Rich's Rugs!

This is the 2nd time that I have used Rich's rugs. He fit me in immediately after my dog had chewed up the carpet in our new house. He charged a fair price and did a great job. Again he and his guys were friendly and professional. Again, very happy with this company and will continue to use for my carpet and flooring needs.

We had a fantastic experience with Rich! For the initial consult scheduling was very easy as he was able to come in the evening. We had previous quotes but decided on Rich not only because we felt like we were getting the most for our money but also because he was extremely personable. On the day of install Rich and his crew showed up on time and got right to work, we had quite of bit of carpet being replaced and was finished by 5pm. It's been a week since we've had new carpet and we're still in Aww of it, it's really beautiful! I will definitely recommend Rich to anyone I know looking to get new carpet!

Rich was great! Communication was great and he bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. He got us a great deal on hardwood floors, and his associate Bob was awesome too. Rich was able to come to our newly purchased duplex shortly after initial call. He came with several samples and was helpful with my choice. After making final decision we decided on date of installation. Rich and his crew arrived promptly and ready to work. They were courteous and friendly. Upon final inspection, I was pleased with the work they did. They left the place neat and tidy. Couldn't ask for more!

Working with Rich was a very pleasant experience. He was responsive, on time and accommodating. He brought samples to my house of exactly what I was looking for after a short phone conversation describing what I needed. The carpet was installed promptly and looks great. He also removed an unwanted carpet in a small powder room. He made sure not to leave any dust/ staples etc... and he cleaned the hardwood floor underneath. Overall, it was a great experience and I definitely would recommend using him.

Rich did a great job carpeting my daughters' room. He was very quick to respond to my quote request and likewise quick to meet me at my house and discuss options. Price was very good in my opinion and Rich performed the work on the promised date. Rich was friendly and professional throughout the process.

Rich and his two assistants were very nice. They took me to my parent's home where my carpet was being stored. They thought about what they were going to do and made sure the carpet would fit before they began- ( I had bought this carpet from somewhere else over a year ago) . They did a great installation and now my steps are the best part of my condo-really beautiful job!

It went great. They arrived early. They went write to work. They called me when they were finished. They walked me threw everything and explained when they did other things to complete job. They did a fantastic job. I will always recomend them to others.
