HOME TRIMWORK

We had an interest in renovating our main stairs and gave up after three estimates from central NJ establishments. Our dissatisfaction was primarily due to misrepresentation of advertised slogans like “We do it from beginning to end.” In reality services were mixed but no one offered a complete, finished project. Lacking services included removing old carpet, additional wood trim work, refinishing, staining and painting. To complete the project we in essence had to become the general contractor coordinating different services which was unacceptable. A friend recommended Home Trimwork in Huntingdon Valley, PA. The outcome far exceeded our high standards. The design manager showcased new ideas and in-depth experience during the 1st virtual session. After a few sessions we finalized the design and went to contract. The project details and timeline were clearly communicated. The project materials manager ordered the required materials and the project coordinator stayed in constant communication. The project started on time and the skilled wood craftsman was exceptional in terms of detail and quality workmanship. The final phase was painting and the outcome exceeded all our expectations. Every Home Trimwork team member was courteous, respectful of us and our property, highly skilled, professional and focused on providing an exceptional customer experience. We “highly” recommend contacting Home Trimwork for any custom woodwork projects.

Company cancelled appointment last minute saying they no longer do this work despite the website and the lengthy call I had when I arranged the appointment.

I purchased a townhouse that was rather bare inside and in need of trim work and at minimum, a new fireplace mantel. Rather than do rooms here and there, I decided to do it all at once before I really decorated the home. I contacted a few contractors who also did trim work and some single-person woodworkers but knew that Home Trimwork would be my best option. I had one lower estimate ($2000 less) for the work but they would only prep for painting it rather than painting the trim. I went with Home Trimwork for the full package and was happy I did (the painting was exceptionally professional). Ulan consulted with me and designed a fireplace mantel (among other elements to the job) that I liked right away. In fact, we didn't change a thing. Over the course of two long days, two workers (I recall one was Eugene) put up all the trim. Their speed and efficiency astounded me, truly masterful. I could tell they had been doing it for years. The very next weekday afterwards, a painter (Lev) came each day and prepped and painted it all with two coats of semi-gloss paint which really pops against the wall colors. He never left a mess at the end of the day and was quite careful. You can tell it was done by a pro. Having a larger company like Home Trimwork likely decreased the amount of time it took to get the materials ordered and the completion of the job itself. It's a bit expensive perhaps but my thoughts were that I would have paid more for the house in the first place had it been "finished" with all this great woodworking. Plus I was able to get it all to my liking. I would say Home Trimwork would be about the best choice for anyone with a medium to large-sized job. If you just wanted molding in a room or two or perhaps just a new mantel a smaller contractor could be just as capable. Most of the rooms in my house have been truly transformed!

After about a week Company did not respond, had to make several calls. There ad states they would come to house and provide an estimate before leaving. Instead i was asked to take and send pictures of the site. I did. After several more calls (over 2 weeks) by me to clear/set details of what I wanted, I received a contract. It DID NOT reflect items correctly and they where not interested in changing it. Company added in extra work that I specifically did not want. After which I requesting an itemized contract separating labor expenses from material things went south. He indicated he had larger jobs to address and mine was not worth his time. This statement may explain padding the contract with extras to increase profit. At that point I put the job on hold and redirected my funds to a more important kitchen project. Effort wasted about 3 months of my time. Buyer beware, read before you sign.

After an initial consultation & speaking with a designer from the company about my ideas, the master carpenters Oleg & Bogdan came and transformed my home. I bought an old home & had a lot of work done which was quite costly. There are imperfections & bad choices which I notice about the hardwood floor I had installed by another company which just drive me crazy , but everything that Bogdon & Oleg did is perfectly beautiful ! Every single day I'm thrilled by the classic elegance of the trim work & happy that I spent the money to have it done. The carpentry work is beautiful & the men who did it were polite, professional, & a pleasure to work with. I couldn't be happier with the work.

Quality of work was very good and onsite crew was always on time, polite and keep the work area clean.

The carpenter and painter that came out to do the work are very skilled craftsman. I am bragging about the quality and beauty of the finished products to all of my friends and family. The workers were on time, kept to themselves not causing any problems, worked hard and did an incredible job. They protected my carpet and the rest of the area they were working in, cleaned up and were very professional. At first I thought the price was on the upper end of the spectrum, but when you look at the finished product it was a bargain! I wish I had more things that needed replaced so I could have more of their beautiful woodwork in my house.

Everything from start to finish was very professional. From Ulan's expert measurement and explanation to the carpentars and painters perfect installation and finishing work. I would highly recommend their services.

From start to finish, Home Trimworks did a great job! Had an online consultation with Mark Ollivier. He followed up with a visit to our home to discuss options for the project. The work was scheduled, materials delivered and project executed flawlessly. Carpenters and painters were professional and courteous. At the end of the day, we got a beautiful hardwood staircase, built in bookshelves/mantle and door trim. Highly recommend this contractor!

They did a fairly good job. After some going back and forth we finally came to a closet design that both my wife and daughter fell in love with. The closet added tons of extra space and the work done was fairly well. As with many old homes and using wood for trim in a 40 year old house it looked great initially. As the wood settles though the caulking is showing gaps with the wood expanding/contracting with the heat/cold. Most likely that would have happened regardless with a shifting house but that's what's happened up to this point so felt I should write it up in the review. They did their work very quickly though. Had a couple of miscommunications as to when they were going to be working but nothing that serious ... just minor annoyances. They were fairly expensive for their work but worked very quickly and workers were courteous. Less than a week to do the entire room. Overall they did a fairly good job. They design we finalized on came out really well. I would consider using them again although I think I would look around at the competition first. I'm giving them B's because the price was expensive ... had a few minor hiccups with scheduling ... and at points it sort of felt like we were somewhat of an annoyance to them. Maybe it wasn't a big enough job? Not sure. Nothing overtly rude or anything ... just felt like at points we were an annoyance to them. I'm guessing maybe because at one point the designer had to change a closet design that my wife originally agreed to and then realized later it wouldn't work. So they reworked the design (this was all before any work was started) which changed the original quote. I was ok with the quote change as well. Maybe we got deemed "difficult to work with" from that point on or something. Not sure ... anyways ... think that's about it.

We are currently using them for the second time. The first time we had them do trim work in our kitchen, dining room and living room and they made a very good impression.They are professional, courteous, responsive, respectful of your property and in constant communication. I would highly recommend them.

We got an estimate from them but we haven't used them yet. It went fine. They were nice, prompt. They were helpful, they were fine. I have nothing negative to say. It was very limited contact, just giving an estimate. They were nice, they seemed knowledgeable, the price was right.

Called this provider to have some interior /exterior work ( 2 doors). They were not interested I such a small job. Note that I ended up getting additional work which brought the price up to over $1000. There loss!!

They came out to give me a quote, but I wanted to see the trim they were going to put up, and they haven't gotten around to doing that. And I felt, well, you know, I'd kinda like to see the kind of trim they'd use. They were fine, no problems. I thought they got props for showing up. I just wish they had brought trim work with them to show you what the different options were. That may have just been an oversight.

Outstanding workmanship on all of the trim work. We had deep cracks in our floors and they stopped all work while we were away to allow us to make re-examine the project. We ended up replacing our entire floor with them and it come out beautifully. Work was completed on time and in an excellent fashion. Would highly recommend them for any interior design project.

They did a great job. We were happy. They were fairly quick and it was easy. I would definitely recommend them. They cleaned up well and we got what they told us we were going to get.

I wanted to install new baseboards and some closet doors in my house and called the company because of all the favourable reviews. The first conversation was with a young woman who sounded very upbeat, took my phone, email and other information and set up an appointment. The guy who was supposed to do the estimate didn't get in touch, so I had to call them again to confirm the appointment was still on. I took the time off the day of the appointment and was waiting for them to show up, but the guy called me and said he was busy somewhere else and suggested that I instead (i) take pictures with my smartphone and email them to him, (ii) do the measurements, and (ii) look up the options in their catalogue. At first I said okay, asked him to email me back with his email address where I could send the pics to. Then, a nagging feeling appeared, what is his job then, exactly? Besides, I don't actually own a smart phone... As it were, I never heard back from the guy. I talked to probably a dozen various contractors at the time as I was remodelling the house and I was lucky to get a more responsive customer service from anyone else I dealt with. Perhaps they were not very interested in the job. It would have been better if they had stated so, I would understand if they were too busy. Even though I had never got email back from them, it appears they do have my correct email address as I keep getting email reminders from them advertising their services from time to time...

Home Trimwork provided a detailed estimate of all work to be performed. They were very prompt and neat throughout the entire process. High quality work. Entire job took two days. Would hire again.

Went very smoothly. Always on time...always professional. Would highly recommend. If I had a limitless flow of cash I would have them tackle the upstairs too! No problems whatsoever.

Excellent. Ulan worked with me to pick the various trim options and custom design the built in entertainment cabinet/shelving unit. Materials were delivered on time and without damaging the common areas of my condo building, which was a challenge to be sure. The carpentry work and installation was performed quickly, and for the most part everything was cleaned up. Their painting crew was also very punctual and did an excellent job filling, sanding, caulking and painting not only the new trim elements, but the pre-existing trim and walls. They also repaired a few scars in the drywall that were pre-existing. I had to do a fair amount of dusting and vacuuming of surfaces after the work was completed, drop clothes/plastic slip covers were used, but realistically when you are going to have woodwork installed and sanded on site it is something you should expect. While the total dollar amount I spent was more than I had originally budgeted, I think the value for the money I spent was considerable. I spent more simply because as we went over options and materials, I kept adding items to the job. My condo was truly transformed in just over a week of work from bare bones cookie cutter walls to a home with character. I left the workmen in my home for much of the day without issue and they communicated with me effectively when a question or issue arose.

We had gotten the estimate many months before we committed because of the cost. When we finally decided to do it, we cut out a few things to lower the cost which Home Trimwork was very accommodating about. The process moved very quickly from there. Everything ran very smooth throughout the entire process. The carpenter that did our job was obviously extremely skilled and worked very quickly. The job was completed ahead of schedule which was awesome! The painters were equally skilled and completed the project in just a few days. We were extremely pleased with every aspect and I consider us very particular. The price is probably not the lowest out there, but the quality is unquestionable.

The work was absolutely beautiful! I have never been so happy with a contractor. Whatever they promise, they deliver. At one point the installer told me that one doorway was not level, and since the molding the installer was applying has to follow the doorway, the molding would not be level. I told the installer to fix the problem. Of course, I feared that I would be charged some exorbitant fee for this service because what I was asking for was outside of the contract, and I was stuck with accepting whatever fee he demanded. The installer tore out and replaced the doorway (about a two hour job) and didn't charge me a penny. He said another aspect of the job was easier than they anticipated, so they replaced the doorway for free. These guys are great! As they worked, they cleaned up and never left a mess. The only scary part was they work so fast that you wonder how they can deliver a quality product. But my husband and I looked over every inch of the job, and it was absolutely flawless. I cannot say enough about this company.
