First of all I called Eric Leghart and left a message. He got back to me that day and we arranged for him to come that Saturday to give us an estimate for refinishing the hard wood floors on our first floor, as well as the stairs leading to the second floor. When he came he was very thorough in explaining the process as well as what was expected of us to get ready for this undertaking. We scheduled it for the last part of November but then two weeks before he called and said he could move us up a week if that was convenient. Eric and his crew were professional, on time, friendly, and did a fabulous job. Our floors being as old as they are look better than we had expected them to. As an added bonus, there was absolutely no mess. We had expected dust everywhere (that is what people told us to expect) but yet there was absolutely none. And his price was upfront and reasonable. No surprises, no hidden costs. We will definitely call Eric when we are ready to do the 2nd floor. Thanks Eric and crew

Overall it was excellent. They were just excellent. They did everything they said they were going to do. They came on time and called on time. We had it done in two sessions as it was for a two bedrooms, a hallway and the living room. They came right back and did everything they said they were going to do. Their pricing was very fair. Their workers were very professional as well, whether the owners were there or not. We had so much done that I thought we were going to be spending a ton; however, I was so impressed by the fair price. They also took away all of their debris and cleaned up well.

Eric, his brother, and another helper did a great job on my hard wood floors. Eric squeezed me in his schedule in order to get the floors done before I move into my house. I am very very pleased with the work they had preformed and how professional Eric was. I had 3 other bids and his was very reasonable for the service provided. In addition, Eric and team are very honest guys. In regards to some other comments about not being prompt/late.... understand the business these guys are in. Yes they work multiple projects but staining a house doesn't take all day, it only makes sense they will work a house or two in a day.

My existing hardwood had always been covered with a carpet and when I removed the carpet there were stains from the oils that were in the old carpet pads. They informed me they would do their best to sand the stains away. When they came to give me my estimate they sanded away one of the stains to get a guess as to how well the stain would come out which was really nice because I was concerned that it would not sand away. The job they has scheduled before me took them longer than expected to finish so their start date was a few days after the scheduled date. I have a pretty flexible schedule so this wasn't a problem. The previous owners put hardwood over the existing hardwood in the dining room. I wanted to try to match the colors as much as possible and after they sanded they tested different stains on the floors. They did an awesome job with the floors and I couldn't be happier. I get compliments all the time. I eventually want to get the rest of the upstairs floors done and I will definitely be contacting this company. Highly recommended.

On the first day they showed up late, tried to convince my wife to leave a large 2' x 2' stained area alone, " it will give it character ". When my wife insisted that they repair it, as had been discussed as a possibility when they gave their estimate, they eventually admitted that they didn't have the saw with them. And rather than finishing sanding the rest of the floor they immediately packed up and left for the day...they had worked 2 1/2 hours and left half of the floor unsanded ! They again were late the next two day's. We found out that they were working other jobs around our's and therefore showed up as possible. We had already been inconvenienced by having to re-arrange our work schedules including being late for work when they didn't show up on time, spending a night in a hotel, kenneling our dogs, and having to sleep on air matresses in the basement. Some of this was expected, as we knew that a large portion of our house would be off limits for a few day's, but their non-chalant attitude towards punctuality was not expected and was aggravating. The finished floor does look great but if you plan on using this company don't make any other plans for that week.

They did a great job -punctual and they took the time to explain the process to me. I was very happy with their work!

The Leghart brothers did an awesome job on our floors. Our house was built in 1929 and had been covered in carpet for years. They were extremely prompt at responding to phone calls and fit us into their schedule so we could move into our house ASAP. The floors look great. Very honest and friendly guys. Highly recommend.

I contacted Leghart Brothers when we purchased a 15 year old home in Wexford and were relocating from Austin, Texas. I was in a time crunch trying to get the floors finished before our furniture arrived. Eric went out of his way to make sure the job went off perfect. I did pay an extra fee to cover the worker's overtime (they squeezed me in between other on-going jobs - I was happy to pay this small fee, it was mostly offset by the discount given for paying cash). I highly recommend Leghart Brothers, they lived up to all the previous reviews I had read here.

Much less mess than I expected. The hardest part was finding places for the furniture. Workers arrived on time and kept us informed of progress. Were finished on time and floors look beautiful.

We contacted Eric for a quote back in May and showed up a few days later to look at our floor. Our kitchen originally had kitchen tile (along with plywood and mastic/tar paper) on it, we had stripped it down to the original hardwood with a few patches of difficult mastic still in place. Eric quoted us at a reasonable price but he was not available until mid-July. Despite that he still came in a day before we anticipated and was finished before the end of the weekend. His team replaced a plank that had holes drilled in it (probably for a faucet drain or a radiator originally) and sanded out most of the remaining mastic and applied several coats of stain and top coat. The final cost was exactly as we had anticipated (no surprises) and his team was nice enough to move around our appliances to get the work done. Will definitely do business with him again.

They were prompt with returning calls and showing up to give the estimate. Their estimate was thorough and accurate, I thought their price was very reasonable. They completed the work on time, left no mess, and the floors look **so good**. I highly recommend them and would use them again without any hesitation.

The Leghart Brothers did a great job from start to finish. Eric promptly responded to my phone call for an estimate and while they were not the lowest bidder, i felt very confident that they would do an excellent job based on the prior reviews i read and his overall demeanor. I was on a very tight timeframe as i was moving into a new house and although they were scheduling for months out, they were able to fit me in when I needed them. In terms of the quality, i was very impressed with the repair work. Other companies told me they would not be able to repair sections of the flooring because it just wasn't possible and Leghart Bros. told me when they were done "it wouldn't be perfect, but it would look a heck of a lot better than it did now." Yes they did! When the time came to get the work done, the Leghart Bros even came in on the weekend to finish my final coat. My floors look great and I was very pleased with the overall experience.

His name is Eric Leghart. They started in October and they finished before Thanksgiving. It took multiple visits because they did the whole house. The hardwood floors were a mess. They came in, they finished them, and they stained them. They euro stained them for me. It was great. The experience was very good. They came and did the work. The work was good. They worked with me because my schedule was a little bit crazy because of work. We worked it all out to everybody's satisfaction. The floors look gorgeous. I have already recommended them to 2 other people who came in and have looked at my floors.

We removed all of the carpeting, drapery, and furniture before the project was started. There was very little dust left behind. A light going over with a Swifter will easily clean up the walls and other surfaces. The men started working on our job the day after the quote for the job was made and they finished within 3 days. A very pleasant and professional group of men own and work for this company. We would strongly recommend them to anyone.

The work was beautiful. They had given me estimate of $700 but it turned out to be a little less, they charged me $600. I live in an old house which was built in1957, and number of different families must have lived here. Over the years the stair way was stinking, the stair way had cockpit. They put nails into the stairs to put the cockpit in, by the time i wanted it to be taken off, it was terrible underneath. They did the very best, anybody could have done. Their is still some spots you can see, holes have been put in it, but they covered the holes best as possible. I was just very pleased with their work, and they did a very nice job. They did the threading for the stairs. I have a very positive experience with them. I don't know about their price, because I didn't get a price form anybody else. They came to give me an estimate. I just had a good feeling about them, and I didn't bother getting other estimates. I can't really judge the price. I will use them in future.

Their service was great. They were on time and did the work in a timely manner. They did a really good job. They were very responsive, and their quality was great. The work is holding up pretty well - it looks real nice. I have not had different people doing the work, so I guess the price was pretty reasonable. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

The floor ended up looking beautiful! I went with the natural color, no stain. I had friends who doubted when I said I was going to get it refinished, but were very impressed with the results. I was a little surprised by the amount of stains left on the vertical edges of the stairwell by the finishing, but it is a small, walled-in staircase, so I guess that's what happens. I repainted the edges and it looks fine now. Leghart was not the cheapest quote I got, but I felt the most comfortable with them. They came out in person to measure, explain my options, and give me a quote within a couple days of my initial call. They were also very accomodating and fit me into an already busy schedule, so I could stay on schedule with my renovation project.

The extra coat of polyurethane wasn?t in their initial price, but they added that. The stain wasn?t as dark as I wanted to be, but I said it was okay. They came back and added other color to it and darkened it again and did not charge me extra for it and it ended up matching the rest of my house. They were excellent, very nice to deal with and I would call them again. I spent about $700 on that work.

The whole thing went very smoothly from start to finish.

I am very pleased with the way my hardwood foors look. I decided to go with the natural finish of the wood rather than a stain, and the result was really nice. Eric Leghart was quick to respond to my request for an estimate, and always took my phone calls during the course of the job. My only complaint, and the reason I gave a B rating, is that he didn't communicate to me what to expect as far as my existing baseboards in all the rooms, which got scuffed and paint was chipped away in many spots. I've never had floors refinished before, therefore I may not have known all the right questions to ask in the beginning. I called Eric to address this and he promptly sent his brother Jerry out to see what I was talking about. Basically Jerry said that this is to be expected and suggested that Eric probably did mention it to me at some point, which he definitely did not. If he had, I would not have been so surprised to see the damage. Jerry said that I could have removed all the baseboards then replaced them again, but that seemed a little extreme and I never would have done that. We will touch up the paint and use quarter round to hide some of the scratches, I only wish I had been prepared to do these extra steps. I think it would be a great idea to put information on a sheet of paper that could be given out with a written estimate. Maybe it could include information such as instructions for caring for your newly refinished floors, things to expect when having your floors refinished, so that there would be no surprises. One other thing to metion is that a chunk of wood had been taken out of the trim on one of my closet doors in a bedroom, maybe 4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Jerry saw this and expressed concern about it, saying that should not happen and he would talk to his staff about it. He said that type of thing might happen once a year if at all. I will have to patch with wood putty and repaint the trim. My house is an older home built in 1958 and by no means were the baseboards in absolutely pristine condition, but they definitely suffered some damage due to this process. Again, if I would have been informed before hand- no surprises. Also they did not take the waste from the job with them, so you may have to haul heavy bags of trash from the job out to the curb for trash pick up, however there was minimal dust left behind in the house which made my clean up easy after the job was done. So my advice would be that if you are going to use Leghart Brothers, you will get a fair price and good final result on your hardwood, but ask all the questions you can think of.

I called for estimate and Eric returned my call the same day and scheduled an appointment very quickly. They scheduled the job around my schedule when I would be out of town (I chose not to be home during the job). Eric and Jerry were very reliable and professional and kept me informed while the job was being done. Eric was very patient with me while I was choosing the color of the stain and did not hurry me to make a decision. They were able to refinish the floors that had many old pet stains to the point that I cannot tell where the stains were. They put down 3 coats of polyurethane and the end result is just beautiful.

They couldn't find sub contractors to do the work, so I didn't end up going with them. They don't respond to my emails either.

We purchased our home approximately three years ago and pulled up the existing carpeting in numerous areas, revealing the original hardwood floors underneath. In our main stairway and upstairs hallway, there were many marks and rough points on the hardwood that could not simply be filled or otherwise corrected without refinishing. I contacted Leghart, and Eric promptly returned my call and provided a detailed written estimate to me. He answered all of my questions and explained any issues with "problem areas" (such as markings in the wood from carpet nails or knives) that may not be able to be fixed with refinishing. I was very impressed by Eric's responsiveness to my phone calls and his willingness (without me even asking) to provide a detailed written estimate. Eric, Gerry and their crew did a great job refinishing the floors in the stairway and hallway. They were prompt and courteous and the quality of their work was excellent. I found their prices to be reasonable as well. I would definitely use them again on future projects.

They arrived on the day scheduled. This was a large area to work on. They were smiling when they greeted my dog and they all arrived to start the job immediately. They were prompt, cheerful, and courteous. They kept to the job diligently and completed the job in a very professional manner within less than half the number of days that they told me over the phone. I've never used this company before, but I would recommend them to anybody that needs their hardwood flooring refinished. They respect their customers and proved to be a very fair and reasonable service.

We made the appointment for July 5th, 2010 several weeks in advance because they were very busy. We confirmed the apppointment approximately one week in advance of the date of work. In the AM of July 5th, they called us to see if we could push back the start until July 6th. I found this to be a little frustrating but when I told them we really needed them to come on the 5th, they did, and showed up in the afternoon. That small inconvenience was the only slightly negative thing I can say and I do know that in the construction industry, supplies, workers, contractor availability, etc. can cause for unexpected delays in scheduling. They sanded with virtually dust-free machines, provided us with many different samples of stain from which to choose, and did prompt and professional work. Other companies only offered two coats of poly and Leghart put on three. All of the workers seemed very knowledgeable in their craft and provided sound advice and feedback to our questions. I would recommend them without reservation and already have done so to our neighbors. Like any major project, there will be some amount of flexibility required. Leghart Brothers were very professional and did excellent work.
