Description of Work: The stripped and stained my hardwood floors. I pulled out hearth in fire place and they replaced wood. The stain on the new wood was poorly matched and there are gaps so large I can see into the basement. After argument, he tried to correct the issue of the stain but did not correct any gap issues. | |They left marks on doors and walls from their hands in the stain and varnish but I did not see these until payment was given and he had left the job so no correction was requested. | |We argued about furniture being moved as I was not fully understanding what was expected of me as the client. I am a single person and could not move furniture easily which was discussed prior to agreement. I thought he was taking care of this and he thought I was taking care of this. Very unclear contract which was just an invoice with different option selections on the form. He did move it which he claims would have cost more money but not being in receipt it was not paid. | |Also very unclear as to when I could walk on floor and as it was holiday we argued about when work could be completed. | |Comments made to me were "I can not wait to get this job done, it has been nothing but a pain to me". I wanted to be a good customer but felt the instructions from his end were very unclear on what was expected to make this a project we both would walk away from feeling satisfied.

Description of Work: Leghart Brothers installed hardwood flooring in our living and dining rooms. I chose them from your list and I was not disappointed :) They were prompt, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I like the fact that they are a family business, and their products are produced in the USA. Every facet of the job was handled well. |Great communications, pricing, quality and installation all went very well. |We are very pleased with our new flooring, and highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They sanded and refinished the Oak hardwood floors in my living room, bedroo and hallway. They were clean and did a beautiful job. It was obvious the workers took pride in their work. I have already recommended them to people I know.

Description of Work: We had engineered hardwood floors refinished. Most contractors wouldn't even come to see the job since the wood was the engineered type. Eric gave us an estimate, but didn't guarantee success due to thin layer of hardwood. We understood, but we proceeded knowing the risks. The good news is that the refinishing was successful. The floor looks beautiful. The job was completed in a timely manner. Eric's was diligent in keeping us up on arrival times for his crew.

Description of Work: Not a big job, 160 sq ft, but it was my entire kitchen floor. I started with the big heavily advertised flooring companies. I went to them, drove out, then they visited. I had to pursue them to get a quote; they never did respond..."I'll mail it", "the boss is looking at it". Together they wasted a month of my time. | |Leghart came out within two days of calling them. They talked to me, not through me, as both the other companies did, who tried to sell my wife on engineered flooring which they wanted to place over the existing floor. | |Since it was not clear what the original floor was like, Leghart prepared a bid to remove the upper layer and then options to repair the original or to tear it out and replace with completely new flooring. | |The original floor was in very poor condition; only truly visible once the cracking linoleum and plywood underlayment was removed: rot, water damage and some was completely missing. Leghart replaced the floor with full-sized oak flooring and provided two coats of finish. | |I extended the contract to have then sand and recoat the dining room. | |Quality work done by workers and owners who knew the work that needed to be done and how to do it in a timely and economical manner. I couldn't be happier.

Description of Work: Installed oak flooring, finished on site, on my first floor (~500sq ft) and refinished my stairs. Eric and his team did a great job. Would definitely work with him again if I need to do any hardwood flooring projects.

Description of Work: I called Leghart Brothers to see if they would be able to do a certain type of job. My call was returned within 24 hours and while they did not do the type of work I was seeking, they referred me to another company that could help me with the job. I appreciated the fact that he took the time to refer me to someone else instead of leaving his response that they could not help me with the job.

Description of Work: They removed carpet on hall steps, sanded and stained steps, installed new wood on landing. As I had read in some of the other reviews, they aren't very punctual and do seem to work you in around other projects. They will call and say the are going to be late and then come later then they said! Also, the project took more days than I had thought. Someone actually had to be here for 4 days In a row.....not all day on most. If you work you may have a problem with having someone available or be late for working waiting for them to show. That being said, the end result was very nice and we are really pleased with how nice the steps look. They did a nice job matching the stain color of the steps to the existing wood in the hall. Different guys will show up to do different parts of the job, but all are very nice and professional and do a nice job explaining what they are doing. Good quality work.. I would use them again.
