The job went well.

Don came out to give me an estimate for a painting job. We scheduled it for a couple months ahead. He called a couple days before and was ready to come out on the scheduled day, which was great. Don and his crew (2 sons) arrived a little late the first day (about 45 minutes), but this was actually pretty impressive to me because there had been a big snowstorm the night before. We talked over the quote and I requested a couple additional services. He quoted the additional prices right there. They were very pleasant to talk to, took care in moving my furniture and stuff, and cleaned up well. The job took 4 days to complete, which was 1 day more than originally planned, but I also added some work when they arrived. So I think the work was done in a very reasonable amount of time. They put everything back when they were done and disrupted things as little as possible. The quality of the work was excellent, they took care to finish up everything nicely and professionally. As an example, I noticed a couple little spots on day 2 where they had paint from an accent wall going over at the corner onto another wall by a few millimeters. Just a poor edge to the painting, nothing terrible. Without me saying anything, that was fixed the next day. So obviously they take care in their work. They were flexible about the payment arrangement, but I gave them roughly 50% about halfway through, and the rest at the end. I gave them a key and they came and went without problems. I would recommend them highly for any painting job - the house really sparkles and I think the price was quite reasonable.

It went very well. Don was the first to come to give us an estimate. The work started in a few weeks. It took one more day than the estimated time because one of the crew had a family emergency. The crew comes around 9 and leaves at 3pm. They covered the furnitures with cloth, vacuum the floor after they're done, touched up everything I asked them to fix, and moved the furnitures to the places that I want them to be. They put the curtain rods on the wall for me.

We took advantage of an Angie's List coupon that made this deal really good for us. We are new homeowners, and we had lots of wallpaper left over from the previous owners. So, the $2800 price tag would have been maybe almost twice that (I forget exactly the bottom line, but I want to say it was over $4000). However don't be fooled -- Hutton Painting did a fantastic job and it would have been worth whatever they were charging. In addition, Hutton Painting voluntarily moved our painting dates up because my wife and I were expecting our first child in mid-August. Quite honestly, that showed me they were serious about this job and that they cared about our situation. The painting took I believe 2.5 days, but could have taken just 2, I can't recall. There were between 2 and 5 or 6 people here at a time. People were here the most when the wallpaper was being stripped. They did a good job of covering furniture, moving things when they needed to, and there were about 3-4 spots that I found (after they left) on the floor where small dots of paint or drywall compound had touched the floor. I'm being really picky here though -- in generally I'd still give them a solid "A". In addition, they were some of the nicest, most pleasant people -- willing to talk and have nice conversation. If you like country music, that's great, because they play it on their radio all day! In summary, I was pleasantly surprised at not only the work Hutton Painting did, but also how nice they were as people. It also spoke volumes when they recognized our situation (with the upcoming birth of a child) and acted upon it. I would unequivocally recommend them (I already have, actually) to anyone in need of painting/stripping wallpaper work. You will not be disappointed.

I had at least 7 painters give me estimates on this job, and the prices varied wildly (there was a $6,000 difference between some of them). I was mostly concerned about their experience with wood-sided homes, and while they all had experience in vinyl siding, or commercial projects, I just did not feel comfortable with any of them. After reading about Hutton on Angie's list, and their experience with similar homes, I met with Shane and Cole. They really listened to my requests (taking notes the entire time), so they were able to give me a detailed estimate, reviewing everything we had talked about. I liked their quiet confidence, their understanding of the work, and their price was fair, so I selected their company. We waited a few weeks to start due to their work load, but once we got started, they came every day unless it was raining. I wasn't home much during the day while they were there, but when I did arrive home, if it weren't for the progress I could see on the freshly scraped or painted walls I would not have even known they were there. Although they covered the necessary bushes, gutters, etc every day, each afternoon they removed the covers, picked up every scrap of paint, and even took their trash with them so that there was literally no evidence they had even been there. They even put back flowers and small decorations I had on the porch if they had moved them during the day! Don Hutton, the father, was on site every day, as well as Shane and Cole. Their team was very professional, did excellent work, and kept in touch with me so that I always knew what the status was. They were also considerate of my neighbors, letting them know when they were working on the sides of the house, and covering any items that could possibly get paint on them. The quality of work was excellent from beginning to end, and they worked quietly and professionally (my neighbors loved them - no complaints at all). I just bought this house in April, and will definitely use Hutton as long as I own the house. Because there is a "new" generation slowly taking over (with Don's guidance), this company will be around for a long time, so thankfully I will not have to go through the selection process again. Thanks Don, Shane, Cole and team for the great work!

I received a prompt call back the same day that I left a message. Two days later on a Saturday morning, Mr. Hutton arrived. He was very courteous and prompt and went over every detail on what my husband and I wanted done, and explained in detail what he would do. The next day he emailed a detailed estimate describing the paint, number of coates, approximate cost for wood replacement (plus added what a high end would be). They started work about a month later (we didn't call until early August, so there were jobs ahead of us). Each day they arrived by 8 AM and were gone at 5 PM. All areas were kept clean during the job. All wood was cleaned and prepped, windows were culked where needed, and gutters were checked, cleaned and patched if necessary. They completed the entire house in less than 5 days. The work was meticulous (they even took weather stripping off the doors to paint, then replaced with new if necessary). On the last day, Mr. Hutton went over every detail with my husband. We are very satisfied with the job and will use them again.

The repair job required two different days and the painting added a third day. The work was excellent - you cannot tell that there was any damage or repairs - it matches perfectly. Additionally, I had asked Mr. Hutton if he could do a couple of very small odd jobs while he was at my home. One involved putting back a small section of siding that had come off in high winds on the second story which was very difficult to get to because of height. The second involved installing two new window cranks in casement windows. He did both jobs without charging me anything extra. I am happy to recommend Hutton Painting.

They arrived when they said they would. They finished in two and a half days. They were courteous while working and left the yard clean.

It went well . The work was well done and on time. I was especially pleased that they did other things that I needed done (the roof) or referred me to someone who could (the carpet), and that the work was done promptly.

Very prompt reply to my Angie's List initial email. Scheduled a free quote immediately and at a time that was very convenient for me. Prices seemed very reasonable to me. Ken was excellent!!!! Ask for him!! He brought paint chips for me to select from, handled everything. I even left him with a house key because he seemed so honest and trustworthy. He's shy but he's great. Just the type of person you want in your home. Great job painting my large full basement plus two bedrooms with high ceilings and loft areas. I'm not kidding, not even one bit of paint out of place in any of the three rooms! Excellent floor protection and clean up. Love the colors. Love the paint jobs. I've already asked them back to do the full exterior and deck; maybe even additonal interior rooms! These guys are professionals! Don't do it yourself!

He and his crew, including several sons, were true professionals from the initial contact to the end. They were on time, worked efficiently, and were always courteous. There work was excellent and was complimented on by my realtors.

The ceiling was falling in our computer room. They sealed the room off and removed the ceiling safely. This kept the plaster dust from ending up all over the house. Then they put the dry wall up, aligning it correctly. All the work was done correctly without cutting any corners. They asked how we wanted each thing done before they did it. Mr. Hutton made sure that they used the paint color we wanted, and that it blended with the walls. They were professional and courteous. One day they were a half hour late, but they called to tell us. I plan to hire them again.

The Huttons arrived on time, were personable, professional and good communicators. They were very quiet as they worked, but cordially answered any questions we asked. We were pleased with the competent manner in which they installed the new brass doorknobs and locks. They pointed out ways we could maintain the door in the future and made sure the leftover paint we'd bought was stored in a manner to promote its longevity. We really appreciated that they did a super clean up when the job was completed, and we felt the price they charged for labor (we'd chosen to supply the paint and doorknobs/locks) was quite reasonable. While they were here, we asked them to look at our powder room and give us an estimate for wallpaper removal and painting (using the Safecoat zero voc again, of course!), which they agreed to provide soon. And when we discovered that an ungrateful sparrow (that dirty birdie!) had initiated the freshly painted white entryway woodwork just before they left, they laughed right along with us. Needless to say THAT is our job for another day when the paint is good and dry!

He was very pleasant. He called fairly promptly. He was easy to talk to.

Answered the phone on the first call - scheduled a time to come out for an estimate. Worker came at the time planned - punctual - young, but professional. We walked around the house and highlighted all the things that needed to be done. Walk around took <10min. Took my email and said they'd email an estimate within three days - which they did. I did not use this company for two reasons (1) estimate was too high as compared with two other estimates, (2) time spent discussing what would be done and details about the job were non-existent. Person giving the estimate looked eager to get out of here as fast as possible. Overall, it was an "ok" experience, but the price was almost double the other estimates and professionalism on site visit was "fair".

We ended up going with a different company but they were very professional and responsive.

Gave me a quote on painting the exterior of our 8-story condo building.

All phases from the estimate through color selection and execution were handled professionally and as they said they would be. Workmanship and quality were great and cleanup was total.

I contacted Hutton painting to paint a house which was being sold as part of an estate. The house is over 80 yrs old; has large rooms with high ceilings, and lots of original oak woodwork to paint around, including one beamed ceiling. Don Hutton came to look at the job the day after I called. I received an email with the estimate the very next day. The estimate was very reasonable and I hired them immediately. Work began 2 weeks later. They wasted no time in getting started; arrived on time every day; and kept the work site neat and uncluttered. It took about 4 1/2 days to complete the job. After the wallpaper was removed from the LR and DR, Don informed me that the walls were plaster and were not in great shape. It took more time and work to get them patched before they could be primed and painted. I was concerned that the rooms would not turn out well. Don and crew did a lot of work on the walls and the finished rooms looked terrific, thanks to their extra effort. There was also some extra work needed to prepare the surfaces in the other rooms. The finished rooms look great and not a drop of paint landed on the woodwork! Don was very good about making suggestions regarding the painting and anything else I asked about. I hired a painter but got the services of a decorator and carpenter as well. I was planning to have Hutton Painting do some additional work on the exterior of the house. However, the house sold so I did not have the work done. I am very happy with the job Hutton Painting did on the house; their work ethic and willingness to give extra effort to make a job look right. It was great working with them and I will definitely use them again.

I wanted to paint the interior of this 80 yr old house to get it ready for sale as part of an estate. I called Hutton Painting and Don came out right away to look at the job. I received an email with the written bid the very next day. I was happy with the price, especially considering the the size of the rooms. Work started about 2 weeks later and took about 41/2 days. After the paper came off Don informed me the walls in the LR and DR were plaster and required a lot of work to get them in shape to paint. I was concerned about how it would look. They did a great job and I was very happy with the result. The other rooms also required some preparation. Again, the result was terrific. Don and his crew were so easy to work with and really helped out making suggestions and offering tips on a variety of points, not just painting. I feel like a I got a painter and a decorator/carpenter at the same time. They were always on time and kept the work site clean and uncluttered. I was ready to have more work in the house which I did not have done because the house sold. If I ever need a painter in the future I will call Hutton Painting without reservation.

Very good, but they didn't actually do work for us.

I have recently hired Hutton Painting and Remodeling to improve the outside of my house. Hutton Painting came to our house and gave us an estimate. I was very pleased that I didn't have to wait around for it like I had to for the other estimates I requested. After giving us a very affordable estimate, I hired them to paint the awnings in the front and back of the house, paint the fascia and soffit, and paint the windows. Hutton Painting and Remodeling completed the job with ease. In fact, I was very pleased at how efficient they worked. The work site was consistently organized and it didn't feel like it got in the way of our lives. I was very happy with the outcome and I had many compliments from my neighbors.

I have recently hired Hutton Painting and Remodeling to paint the interior of my home. I was enthusiastically pleased with the result. The company had a very competitive price and they came to me highly recommended. Their estimate came in a timely manner. Every time they came to my house they were very professional and accommodating. My husband and I choose many different colors (different for the walls and ceilings). Hutton Painting and Remodeling was also very patient when we decided to make changes. I was also happily surprised at how clean and neat they kept the work site. This company consisted of 2-3 generations of very skilled craftsmen. The end result was everything I hoped. I would and am planning on using them again.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE HAD HUTTON PAINTING DO OUR HOME. THE FIRST TIME THEY PAINTED THE INTERIOR AND THE EXTERIOR. THIS IS A FAMILY BUSINESS, THREE GENERATIONS OF HUTTONS WHO PROVIDE EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP. THEY ARE PLEASANT, NEAT, PROMPT, RETURN CALLS QUICKLY, PATIENT WITH ALL QUESTIONS AND KEEP THE BUYER INFORMED OF ALL PLANS AND PROGRESS. WE PLAN ON HAVING THEM RETURN IN NOVEMBER FOR INTERIOR PLASTERING AND SOME PAINTING OF UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS AND BATHS. THEIR PRICES ARE EXTREMELY FAIR, VERY COMPETITIVE, AND THEIR WORK IS PRECISE, WITH GREAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL. WE HAVE A VERY LARGE HOME IN AN UPSCALE NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE ESTIMATES ARE USUALLY ELEVATED BECAUSE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE CLOSEST BID TO MR. HUTTON'S WAS NEARLY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS MORE. THEY ARE HONEST, FAIR AND GIVE A SOLID DAYS WORK FOR A GOOD PRICE.
