After calling Tim came to our home and gave us an estimate. After we agreed to a price Tim stopped by again to drop off a sample book so we could pick the color of the shingles ourselves. Workers were prompt, friendly and very courteous. This job was done in a single day. Workers did a great job of cleaning up all scraps and pieces of debris from old roof.

We also had some issues we wanted an estimate on, dating from the house inspection. As it turns out, it was NOT the siding, However, throughout a year's contact with Tim, we had approximately 3 - 4 visits from him. We never got an estimate on work that we needed done. We got no notice he was coming, so at times he said he came and no one was home. We received few responses to calls. He said he found a hole 1 time, and said he fixed it, charge $150. (not a fix) After several visits, he could not come up with any solution to the leak. He said next step was to spray water to locate leak. We never could get him to schedule this visit. Finally I gave up and called someone else. They immediately discovered where water had collected and was leaking in. They said the addition did not have a "termination bar" and that should fix it. They gave us an estimate on all the work that needed doing. 1 visit, all that. I am very disappointed in Tim's ability and professionalism. He could have made $1400 on the work we will have someone else do.

Our 25 year old roofing shingles were in need of replacing and having used Tim Schaffer for small repairs on our roof before we felt comfortable with having him do a complete replacement of the roof shingles. The hardest part was coming up with the right color but the selection he offered was wide and he allowed us to look at previous jobs he had performed in our area with the colors and styles we were considering to help us visualize the outcome and make a choice. The roofing team arrived on time and began their work. They were industrious and made good time but there was heavy rain expected the first night so they made sure what they had started was properly sealed. After a full deluge for a day they were back on the job a day after that and again worked hard at getting the rest of the house done. They also added extra insulation into our attic and installed vent outlets on the back of the roof for our bathroom vents. Previously our vents were venting into our attic, not a good thing. Schaffer did let us down a little by not attaching the vent piping to our BR exhaust fans, instead only attaching them to the roof vent outlets, So we ended up doing that ourselves and doing it with insulated vent piping which was better than what they had supplied us to begin with. Aside from that Schaffer replaced any water damaged sub-roof plywood and installed superior ice protection covering under the shingles than what was originally on the roof. The project took 2 and a half days but when it was all done, it looked excellent. All attention to detail was given for flashing, new exhaust pipes, the installed vent BR vent outlets and attractive shingling which looks great and matches the colors well on our home. It is nice to know too that the few previous leaks we had had are now secure. All and all I would recommend Timothy Schaffer to anyone who wants a quality roof put on their home. Just don't expect them to attach any vent work inside to BR or Kitchen exhaust fans despite what they may say. This is roofing not vent piping after all.

Excellent. The roofers spent 2 1/2 days removing and replacing the shingles on our house (and a shed). They removed all the old materials and left the site as they found it. The new roof looks great.

We have had several roofing companies work in our neighborhood, and one company was caught ripping shingles off of roofs in order to drum up business and defraud insurance companies. Beware of unknown companies going up on your roof! We had absolutely no qualms about Timothy Schaffer, who was professional, reliable, and trustworthy. He and his work crew gave an honest, competitive estimate, came on time, worked efficiently, did an excellent job, and were very professional overall.

Tim Schaffer quoted two jobs for me in May 2012: first, to remove my old roof and install a new roof; and second, to fix a leak near a recently installed window (not installed by Tim). I had to wait a little over 12 weeks to have the roof installed in August 2012. The cleanup afterwards was satisfactory. The quality appears to be good as the new roof did survive Super Storm Sandy without the loss of any shingles. Unfortunately, Tim Schaffer never finished the work that he quoted. On the second day of the roof installation, the siding crew came out and determined that they needed additional equipment to look above the window and would be back in a few days to find and fix the leak. That is the last time that I saw anyone. I placed more than a dozen calls throughout the next few months and only received one response from the office manager saying that I was "in the queue" to have the work completed. I never heard again from Tim directly. I waited until March 2013 before trying to reestablish communication and get the work completed. During this time, I withheld payment since Tim did not complete the work that he originally quoted. Through his office manager, he is now claiming that the work required to fix the leak is much more involved and so his original quote is no longer valid. Unfortunately, I have no paper work or documentation indicating as much since Tim never returned with a new quote nor did he ever return any of my phone calls throughout last Fall. I finally paid Tim for the roof work completed and will find another contractor to complete the work. I CANNOT recommend Tim Schaffer for any work as he appears only interested in big dollar jobs (such as a new roof) and not any other type of roof or siding work. His failure to return to complete the job or to give me an updated quote and his complete lack of responsiveness in returning any of my numerous phone calls was extremely unprofessional and is not a good way to run a business.

He came out and quoted the job. We spoke on the phone about when he was going to do the job. He came out, did the job, and cleaned up. He did what he said he was going to do.

My son bought a house in Telford. At the closing they told him the roof was recently new and still had a few months balance of a 1 yr warrenty on it. Six months later while installing new insulation in the attic I discovered a spot where the old insulation was soaking wet. At the next rainstorm I located where the roof was leaking. I randomly picked Mr. Shaffer out of the yellow pages because his ad looked good. He came out and while I was showing him the leak location, I mentioned that at the closing they said the roof was not very old. He said "It's 1 year old". I said "How can you tell that?' I was shocked when he responded "because I'm the one who installed it". What are the odds that out of the phone book I would pick the right guy. That kind of luck doesn't happen to me very often. He asked how long it had been leaking. I said there was no way to know because the old vermiculite insulation was hiding the leak. If I hadn't been doing new insulation I would not have found the leak until it came through a ceiling downstairs. He said that even though the warrenty had expired, he would honor it anyway. I thought that was mighty nice of him. A few days later he repaired it and it's been fine since. In case you are wondering why a new roof was leaking, the chimney liner was replaced a couple months eariler. Since the leak was about 3 to 4 feet from the chimney, I highly suspect it was caused by the chimney people and not from any flaw in Mr. Shaffer's roof installation.

He is a local company. His workers are superior. They do a fabulous job. He listened and did the work that I asked him to do. He promptly answered my calls and held to the price quoted.

I interviewed three different roofing companies. The prices quoted by them were about the same. However, I liked Schaffer Roofing the best, as he seemed a little more of a people person than the others. He was a little easier to talk to. The other companies had a lot of brochures and things like that, but his prices were better. The quality of his service was pretty good and I didn?t find too many nails lying around. I felt that his men could have done a little less of dropping the bundles on the roof though. He and his men were very responsive. He was very professional, although some of his men weren?t that good.

I got three estimates and after talking to everyone I liked Schaffer the best. The estimate was in line with other estimates. He worked with me really well. They installed the roof without taking down the gutters. Very pleased. They cleaned up fairly well.
