Moyer Pest Control

I have used Moyer Indoor-Outdoor for my landscape, HVAC, pest control and plumbing needs for over 10 years. I proudly support local businesses even if it may cost a few more dollars. However, after my last two HVAC experiences with Moyer, I am extremely disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with their lack of professionalism, transparency and blatant price gouging. In November 2021, a Moyer technician (who will remain nameless for now), came to my home after my 7 yr old, $12,000, Lennox system that Moyer installed, threw a trouble code shutting down my gas furnace in the winter. Usually I am present and will be at home for any services but this time, I was tied up at work so my wife met with the Moyer tech. I was available by text, so I told my wife to text me before committing to anything so she didn't feel intimidated or pressured. Within 10 minutes of the tech's arrival, I received a text from my wife that the thermostat needed replacement at a cost of $1200. I asked what the diagnosis was and the part number of the thermostat, as that seemed to be a pretty quick and expensive conclusion. No response. Next update from my wife was the thermostat was fine and the tech was now recommending a new 20' thermostat wire be run at a cost of $350. I confirmed several times with my wife just to make sure I understood this correctly...we initially are told within minutes we needed a $1200 thermostat, now we no longer needed the $1200 thermostat, but instead a $350 thermostat wire? Still no explanation or diagnosis of what the problem was. I already had a pic of my thermostat with the trouble code displayed my son sent me that any Google search would provide some info/insight. I text my wife to let her know that I didn't feel comfortable authorizing anything based on what I felt was an obvious, unscrupulous, money grab and pressure sales pitch, so make me the bad guy and let the Moyer tech know I wasn't comfortable proceeding. A system reset was performed and the furnace has been trouble free since. Today, 5/13/22, I turn on my air conditioning, no cold air blowing. Call Moyer Indoor, leery now thanks to my prior experience, but mainly because the Lennox system was still covered under the initial parts warranty. The same Moyer technician responded. I escort the tech to the basement, explain the issue and make some small talk. The tech discovers my coil had begun to freeze over, an indication that I was possibly running low on refrigerant. He also discovers that dye had already been introduced into the refrigerant and told me my coil was leaking as evidenced by the glowing dye around the coil and in the condensate pipe. Tech explained I was lucky as the coil would be covered under warranty, however labor and the cost of the refrigerant would not be. Told me I would be looking at over $2000 for the repair. Didn't explain part cost or labor hours, just threw out a number. Sounded like another $1200 thermostat. I explained that since the coil failed, a covered part, which caused the refrigerant to escape, I should not be responsible for the recharge. "Not my policy, call the office." I ask the tech for his boss to discuss, while he recalculates his repair price. I'm provided two names, call office and told one gentleman is on phone currently, I assume w/ tech who went out to his van. I leave info for a callback, never received. Tech returns, tells me his "bottom line price" is now $1450 for the repair, yet still charging me $350 for for up to 3 lbs 410A refrigerant. Tells me both his bosses are "gone for the weekend," yet one of them had just been on their office phone? I asked the tech to leave. Shame, this company was very different a few years ago and what made them special has been stripped away by how their techs operate in the field which reflects poorly on the Moyer name. As of this writing, I've heard nothing back from Moyer.

It went very well! They were very responsive and provided high quality work. I would highly recommend them to others.

We live on a golf course so we get mice come cold weather. Since we hired Moyer there has been no evidence of mice or Spider Crickets

We used to use Moyer for everything... Pool Service Contract, pest control, Plumbing and Heating/Air. They even installed our HVAC system to the tune of $20,000. Every year they kept getting worst and worst service and less and less professional. Now it is by far the most incompetent company we've used in the last 20+ years in bucks county. They charged us $650 to replace a Sum pump that others charged $300. I would stay clear of this company at all cost.

We were using another company for two years and they could never seem to get rid of the ant problem. After the first visit by Moyer, they identified where the problem was and we've been virtually ant-free for a year. I'm looking forward to continuing services with Moyer in the future.

They're excellent. I've had them for a while.They're reliable. They're quick when they come out as far as if there is a problem or something. They're very good. I get my oil delivered from them. They're competitive in their rate s and stuff like that. I talked to them on the phone because I pre-order my oil. $2.09 per gallon. Originally they sent me out something that it was $2.39 but oil had come down at that time. Now the thing that was good about that was it was before the hurricanes came cause after that then you had the refineries close down and everything else went a lot higher. Lucky me. That's all I can say. They quoted me a price and it was exactly $2.09 per gallon for the next year to pre-buy the oil.It's a lot more expensive now. As far as everything else, I guess they're competitive in their rates as far as the maintenance program I have for the heater and everything. They'll come out and they'll clean it. They handle that. They'll come out if I ever had anything break or anything like that, they come out. The agreement usual covers whatever I need. They are good. They usually give me a call beforehand and tell me when they're going to be out.

We have a regular program with them. They come out five times a year. They do a good job. I have used them for a number of years, and it's improved the look of the lawn a great deal.

We have a service contract. It’s like $300 a year.

They deliver on a schedule, and they always know when I'm going low. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I am very happy with their service. They are prompt. They never leave a mess. I am happy with their repairmen when they come in to prep my heater for the season, and the same with the a/c.

I am very happy with them. I have been using them for most of 10 years. Their prices for service and oil are competitive. They are very quick and very good. That’s the reason I use them. I would definitely use their service again. The only thing I didn’t like is that when I go to pre-buy oil, their price can be high. If you can find somebody lower, they will match the price. They are willing to be competitive in price. You don’t find that with everybody.

They've been very good. It has been done yearly for at least 12 years. It's a service contract that I have with them. They have a flat rate with what I've got. I'm sure they're in line with other companies. It usually takes them about an hour to do the service. There was one worker and the area was left clean when he was done.

Great, the tech was very friendly and got the job done in a timely manner.

The gas to my house was cut off by PECO but despite that, the scheduler claimed that the leaking pipe had to be repaired by the company that installed it. By that line of reasoning, Moyer should only repair plumbing they installed which obviously is not the case. Never again.

It went very well. They have been great so far. They have come out twice so far and both times it has been the same gentleman. He is very nice and he gives me advice on our lawn and said Moyer also does lawn work so we ended up doing some lawn care with them as well. I didn't do lots and lots of research so I don't have too much to compare it to but it seems like we got a good deal. They were very clean. The guy who came inside put on booties.

While he was here, we talked to him about our lawn because we had some questions. The gentleman happened to do lawn care prior to doing pest control so he gave me some comments about it and asked if I wanted Moyer Lawn to call me. They called and I talked to them and they were able to give me a deal to do some grub control and to aerate and seed our lawn for us. The grub control, aeration and overseeding were $188. I like the friendliness of the technicians that came out. This was different than the pest control guy. A different guy did the grub control than the one who did the aeration and seeding. They both did well with our dog. They were very friendly towards the dog and it was quick work. It didn’t take them very long. They were here in the time frame they said they would be. We got a discounted rate for those services since we also do the pest control. If you use them for other things, you get a discount on all the others because they provide a number of different home services. With the grub control, we were told we will be the first house call of the day which means they would be here before 8 a.m. and that didn’t happen. I called Moyer and the woman I spoke to said she would call the technicians and have them call me and ended up not calling me and they didn’t show up until probably around 9:15. All things considered, it’s not that much when we expected them but it was still slightly frustrating and then I planned to get this done before I went to work, and I ended up having to stay home much longer than I anticipated. As far as the aeration and seeding that we had done on Monday, they gave us a window. The technician called us and told us he thought he would be here and he was here within the 1-hour window that he gave us. The grub control technician who did not call us was still very friendly.

Very well. The problem was immediately fixed. As part of the package, service requests between scheduled visits are not charged. We noticed another ant colony outside in the lawn after the first visit and they promptly stopped by and took care of that as well.

Great. They showed up when they said they would. The technician asked questions about the reason for call so he could address my concerns.

I did a lot of research and interviewing people for an expensive home heating system. Moyer Indoor Outdoor was fantastic on the new boiler install for my home. Workers were very polite, and did and excellent job on the work. Everyone from the salesman Mike T. , to the professional installers, Thad and Cory- everyone was excellent. Highly recommended! Be careful, there are a lot of mechanical plumbers and HVAC installers who all have their biases and preferences on equipment. Take your time, do your research, and compare apples to apples on your bids carefully! I did my research and got over 10 bids. . Moyer's was slightly more expensive than the lowest bidder, but I like that they are a smaller family run company and they gave me a better warranty. A company is not around for over a hundred years for no good reason. And they are not the super big corporation type business, but a respectable family run one which will be around if I need them in the future.

This is the worst service provider with whom we have dealt in 26 years of living join our home. They were called to handle a powder post beetle problem in our shed. The technician told me the chemical treatment would take 1 to 2 hours to dry. Five days later there was still an 18 inch oily stain running all along the bottom of our shed! Furthermore, when I asked the technician how long it would be before the chemical took effect, he could not answer. He was clueless! He simply did not know. Is this "professional" service. Perhaps the worst part is the technician sprayed the inside of the shed door, which is painted, and that still has an 18 inch stain at the bottom of it. We still have fresh powder post beetle dust everyday, so not only do we still have powder post beetles, I have to repaint my door! And call Orkin to have this work done right. Avoid these people at all costs.

We've had pretty good services from them. It just depends on what person they send out, some of them are very good and others are not.

I think they're great! Thankfully, we've never had anything but false alarms, but if I ever have an equipment issue like battery replacement, etc., they're out the next day.

I think they're great! I don't have any issues whatsoever, and if I do, they come right out. I never have any problems, which is good, because my daughter and I are serious bug-o-phobes. The service they give is incredibly thorough, and the techs are extremely neat and patient.

They came and put one trap in the front and side of the house. They charged me $100 a day to check the traps and take it away if one was in there. The traps caught 10 random squirrels from the neighborhood and none from my attic. I?m not even sure that they are licensed. They did not do what they were supposed to do to eliminate the wildlife.

I have used this provider for several years to open and close my pool and generally they have done an OK job. This year was an absolute fiasco. It started when they showed up to open my pool knowing my pool pump needed to be replaced. They showed up but the technician managed to break a key component for which he did not have a replacement part. They left without telling me and I had to call them to find out when they would return. They returned 5 days later with a technician who was so clueless it took him him three trips back and forth to the office to figure out what was needed. He installed a pump after which I told him the pool had not been completely opened (no DE or chemicals) so they added those. Ten minutes after he left, the pump malfunctioned. I called back and a few days later they replaced the pump with an identical model which failed ten minutes after they left so I called back again. Turns out they installed the wrong size replacement twice. They showed up to replace that but due to forbidding weather, we said we would reschedule. I had to call them again to reschedule. They said they would reschedule as a priority and call me back. Guess what? No rescheduling and no call back. They eventually showed up and installed the correct pump. So more than one month after my pool was supposed to be open, I finally have a functioning pool. Needless to say this is the last time I use this provider.

Beware of this company! They want to poison they world!! I had a gypsy moth problem. You can spray for gypsy moths, but it only works against the caterpillars. Without understanding my situation, looking at my property, or seemingly knowing anything about gypsy moths, the salesman who called to sell me a contract with 4 sprayings at $70 per spray. He only was looking at my property via satellite. He didn't even understand that I only had one tree. It was a clear example of upselling with no information, understanding, or concern about the ecological effects of what the company's actions would be. He said, "Oh, the spray will kill aphids, spiders, whatever." Huh? Is this a responsible way to run a business. This company is pure evil as far as I'm concerned.
