Legendary Builders

Do not hire Joel of Legendary Builders. He built a composite Trex deck for us back in May, 2019. We are still waiting on him after almost 2 years of excuses to come back and make repairs on a few issues. Issue #1 --Had Joel done his research in our township, LMT, he should have known that the township was going to require an inside handrail down the spiral staircase. Joel installed a piece of metal that was twisted and scratched for over $1000 just to pass the code inspection after he was paid his $72,000. The railing looks horrible and completely takes away from the whole look of the deck. We paid a lot of money for the Trex. We asked him several times, please take the railing down, install something else that looks more cohesive to the look of the Trex, even if it ended up costing us more money. Another option, we asked him to take the railing down and patch the holes with something. After several texts and phone calls, Joel has never made good on anything. Always, some excuse as to why he could not provide a resolution to what he installed. Took the money and ran! In addition, we have a bent door frame, rusting hardware, and trim work that is peeling away. I repeat... you should not hire him, you will be disappointed.

Joel Rupp was fantastic decks looked great

I posted a review back in 2010 when Joel upgraded and extended my deck. The deck looked great, and was great for the first 6 years. Now, the framing he used has dry rotted, and the stability of the new section are questionable. Pieces of the new framing actually crumbled to dust. It's apparent treated lumber was not used. I have tried calling multiple times over a 4 month period. He called back after the first call and said he needed to check his schedule. That was 3 months and multiple calls ago. Now, I will have to get someone else to fix the issue and get a lawyer. I highly recommend you do not hire Legendary Builders. The longevity of their work is not acceptable and they do not put your issues first. Once they have your money, they're done with you.

They never contacted us back.Would not hire them now if they did.Dont have them contact me.

They worked with me and my limited resources to break the project into two parts, helping me set priorities and doing temporary fixes on the parts that must wait until next year. They were pleasant to work with, worked hard while here and showed me crucial parts of the project which explained why the damage had happened. They did not talk down to me or try to hustle me into doing unnecessary work as some contractors have since I am a women. Their bid was fair for the work to be done.

Joel was always responded with quick replies either via phone or email when I had questions prior to making my decision on a contractor. I was very pleased with the quality of work, quality of materials and the time it took to completion. I would highly recommend Legendary Builders to anyone.

Joel and his crew of two did a wonderful job removing my old deck and constructing a new one. We chose pressure treated lumber and we now have a beautiful new deck. I know that my house will fall down before my new deck. I highly recommend Legendary Builders!
