Although they were more expensive than other estimates, Rand R did a more thorough job of inspecting for storm damage and making temporary repairs until final repairs could be made. They were also very co-operative in dealing with the insurance adjuster by sending him estimates and photos of the storm damage. They did a very good job on the final repairs of the ridge vents and I am pleased with the appearance of the roof.

It really went the way it was supposed to. The customer relationship throughout was a highlight. They were very helpful and provided details on the work to be done, the materials they would use, the warranty, and their process. They executed the work as they had described it. There were things that could have gone wrong that did not go wrong, (ancillary damage, trees, bushes). The price was fair and the workmanship was top-notch. A roof is a long term prospect. At this point, it is exactly as it should be.
Description of Work: The person who came to our house was Cliff Carmack. He was polite and professional, and demonstrated a real commitment to Customer Service. The materials were of high quality. The team worked efficiently and the workmanship was fine. They did a good job with the demolition, with very little extra debris in the process. They had to replace some damaged plywood, then replace the entire roof. The new roof was done quickly and it looks great and appears to be performing well. When Hurricane Sandy hit, we saw a couple of shingles that had been blown up a little. R&R was responsive to come back to address the issue.

Rand R Roofing's estimator, Cliff, was very professional. He conducted an inspection of the roof and took the time to answer all of my questions to my satisfaction. I had a wide range of choices for replacement shingles. He provided a detailed written proposal listing the services to be provided, the types of materials to be used, the standard to which the work would be performed and the cost of the project within two days of his inspection of our roof. He provided proof of insurance, his company's certifications and an extensive list of residential references without me having to ask for them. Rand R also offered a military discount for veterans that reduced the cost of the project by more than $500. Supplies and the debris dumpster were delivered to the work site shortly before the start date. The work crew of five or six men arrived on time each day, set up quickly and immediately began to work. They were organized and hard-working throughout the project (despite 90-100 degree heat on most days) and cleaned up at the end of each work day. The foreman, Shawn, was very organized, well in control of his crew and kept me informed of his plans and progress throughout the project. When he encountered some damage to the plywood decking, he immediately informed me, showed me the damage, explained what needed to be done to repair the problem and gave me an immediate cost estimate. The second load of supplies arrived on time and the work site was kept neat. The work was finished on time and to my satisfaction. Debris cleanup could have been better; I discovered several old shingles and nails in flower bed around the house over the next few weeks after the work was done, but not so many as to be unsatisfactory. The completed roof looks great and has withstood several storms with heavy rain and high winds. The pricing of the project was competitive (approximately $10,000 before the insurance settlement), coming within $300 of my other two estimates. Overall, a painless and satisfactory process. I would recommend Rand R Roofing to anyone for residential roof replacement.
Description of Work: R&R Roofing replaced a 3100 sq ft shingle roof on a two-story colonial home and attached garage that had sustained storm damage from hail and wind. The company completely removed the old roofing down to the plywood deck, inspected the plywood and replaced panels as necessary. They then installed new felt paper, architectural shingles, ice shield, ridge vents, flashing and pipe boots.

Wasn't happy so moved on.
Description of Work: only had an estimate done but i wanted tin and he told me my roof wasn't steep enough for tin which the pitch is a 4/12 and i have seen other roofs flatter that have tin also said something about the ventilation that i also didn't believe so i decided not to go with him. He was very nice and professional maybe just didn't like doing tin? INot getting any younger so i'm not going thru the shingles thing again.

The roof was damaged in the hail storm in the spring of 2011. The insurance company sent a man to look at the damage and he said the whole roof of the house and the patio porch needed replaced. I had to get two extimates and Rand R came in the lowest. It was still too high for the insurance company. The insurance company man couldn't tell what kind of roof was on the porch, the Rand R estimator sent a picture to our adjuster. She then released more funds for the job. If it wasn't for that picture and his expertice the whole rood job would have been a mess. The job was preformed in two days and I only found one nail on the driveway. I am very happy with the work preformed and the quality of the material and workmanship.
Description of Work: They installed the roof and removed the old one. The estimate was higher than the insurance company wanted to pay and R&R worked with them.

They were really great. They actually set up the day before at the end of the day. The next morning they arrived and got the job all finished with the dumpster removed before I got home from work--it was like magic. Everything was cleaned up and they really did a wonderful job. The man who came to give the estimate was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was very pleased.

They responded to my request very promptly and provided reasonable pricing for what they proposed. I even got a call fro the owner of the company to see if they had answered all of my questions. They sincerely desired my business and were very attentive.
Description of Work: We got an estimate only from them. They very very prompt and had excellent follow-up. Our roofing problem was very unique and I had gotten several estimates and approaches of how to best fix the issues I was facing. They had a reasonable approach; however, I decided to go with a metal roof while they had proposed a rubber membrane roof. Our choice was not so much based of price as it was aesthetics.

These folks came when I couldn't even get an estimate out of more than 10 roofers-everyone was just too busy to repair a leaking roof! They provided a detailed estimate, insurance papers, and references. Cliff was very careful to explain everything and talk with me about the best solution. They came within 10 days of the estimate, were clean, professional, courteous. I have only praise for this outfit. As a side note, I have received 3 other estimates in the mail, now that the roof is fixed - theirs was the next to cheapest price of the four who finally responded.
Description of Work: Fixed a problem leaky flat rubber roof with warranty-10 year on workmanship, 20 year on membrane. Removed 3 of 4 previous roofs, repaired original roof and recoat it with rubber, replaced fascia.
