John is very professional, punctual and responsive. He was able to come out that same day to look at my issue and scheduled the job for the following week as it was going to take a full day to complete. He did a great job and was a pleasure working with him. I would definitely recommend him to others who want the job done right.

This is the third time I have hired Kangaroo Plumbing. ?The first time was a minor repair in a prior home; the second time I had Kangaroo replace two antique (read 1920) toilets, tear out an old basement sink and install a new one across the basement and next to my washer/dryer; and put in a new intake line from the street; and repair broken exterior faucets on the house. ?In every case, John, the owner, was thorough, completed the work in a timely manner, and delivered as promised. ? In the most recent job, I had been getting water in my basement almost from the day I purchased it. ?I had several people come and look at the problem, and no one could figure out where it was coming from--it was 'just ground water' or 'an old house' and I was going to have to deal with it. ?When John was doing the other work on my house, he offered to take a look at it, and at first, he couldn't figure it out, but instead of just charging me and walking away, he stayed several hours, running water through gutters, trying various things, until he figured it out--proudly pointing to water running in by basement on a dry summer day. ? John dug up my concrete basement floor, replaced all of the broken gutter drain pipes that were the cause of the problem and in the process noticed that the drain pipes were on the wrong side of the back-up valve, which was old and needed to be replaced as well. ?He actually identified an inexpensive and non-invasive 'workaround' for both that was nothing short of ingenious, practically cost me nothing, and solved that problem in what was actually a pretty elegant way. Since then, we have had many, many rain storms and I have not had a drop of water in the basement. ?Almost as importantly, his service was impeccable throughout. ?He left the basement cleaner than he found it and followed up after the rainstorm on his own to see if there was any water. ?Everything was done to code--he is an experienced plumber and one that I will rely on long into the future. Highly Highly Recommend.

John and his assistant, Craig, were professional, friendly, and trustworthy. When I came home and found that Craig had draped my whole house in flowing protective plastic sheeting, making the place look like the set of a slasher movie, I knew these guys knew how to take care of a fussy customer. John's contract was detailed and understandable. He walked me through each evening, showing his progress and discussing issues. He had no problems adding on a couple extra things I requested as we talked each evening. We only had to do without the bathrooms one night, and a couple times, John stayed later to get done what he had planned for the day, in order to stay on schedule. God bless his dear wife, who had to hold dinner those nights. The gentlemen treated the animals kindly, and made sure no one got outside. I'll be calling on John for all the hookups when we remodel, but I don't expect I'll need to call him for repairs, because everything's new!

John is very professional and respectful. He showed up on time, looked at the two jobs, gave me an estimate, and did the work the same day. We had received another estimate for this job and the plumber said the only way to replace the pipes for the one tub was to go through the ceiling below. John was able to replace the pipes without ripping out my ceiling and the work was far cheaper than the other plumber had estimated. This is the second time we have used Kangaroo Plumbing and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

When he got here he said he would charge by expertise, not hours. At this point we had waited for him and we did not want to call anyone else but he was here for only 2 1/2 hours, we needed no parts, and we thought the bill was much to high. As for expertise, all we needed was to have one faucet replaced, one washer changed, another fauCet loosened, One drain snaked, and inside of t,outlet adjusted. We thought bill was too high for 2 1/2 hours work. P

What I like about John is his ability to accurately determine the source of a problem, give a succinct recommendation and cost estimate and then get the problem fixed. He is very knowledgeable and thorough.

John also did a job for us a couple of months ago, charging $430 to replace an outdoor faucet and the pipe leading to it, plus the cutoff valve, which had been corroded. He did a quick and good job but I give him a B for price because it seemed like a lot for a job that only took him about an hour and didn't require very expensive materials. Overall he's great though, and he's very charming - nice to have in your house.

John is fabulous. He works efficiently, gives good advice and options and is neat as a pin.

John is great. In addition to doing very good work quickly and efficiently, he also gave me some advice on other housing problems I was having that ended up saving me several hundred dollars.

Everything went really well. John came in slightly higher priced than the competition but the work deserves the price. Seriously good parts, very professional technician, he took the time to explain every step to me and answered the many questions I had. I would definitely recommend him and use him again.

John to the rescue!!!!! All of a sudden, water began running down a first floor bathroom wall, building up behind the layers of paint. There were no detectable leaks in the fixtures or plumbing above it on the second floor, so we were concerned that the leak may stem from pipes within a wall. We left a message for John at about 1:30 in the afternoon, explaining the situation. He called us back two hours later (how's that for responsiveness!!!), and fit us onto the end of his schedule for the same day. He arrived at 5:30 after having worked a full day, and stayed until 8:30 to repair the problem. That is amazing service! There were pinhole leaks in pipes running inside a dropped ceiling, so we fortunately did not have to have any holes punched into the walls. However, we knew John would have been able to do the job right even if some "demo" had been required. John did a beautiful job, quickly and efficiently, and left us in great shape! John was willing to go out of his way help us out with the problem; there are very few folks out there who provide this kind of service.. We are so thankful for the way John does business! P.S. Ancillary lesson learned from this: know where the water shut-off is for your property and how to use it!

I called John as he was local and had good reviews. I mentioned that I found him on Angieslist. He arrived promptly at the arranged time. John appeared professional and went right to work. Within 10 mins he had the issue fixed. I was a little surprised at the cost of $150 ($75 callout fee and $75 work) but I know plumbing work is expensive and he did a good job. I did not receive the advertised Angieslist discount - but I also forgot to remind John at the time of payment so perhaps it slipped his mind.

Added a piece of metal pipe. The job was easy and he did it in 15 minutes, but for that he charged us 250 dollars. Way too expensive, but we needed the job done asap, and he was ready to do it. He even said that he will charge $50 more if he had to come back another day!

Very pleasant and efficient. The job was clean and just took half an hour. The invoice was itemized and transparent.

The water heater seems to be working. He was efficient, fast, and clean. He explained everything.

The supply line to a 50 year-old toilet sprang a slow leak at the tank, soaking through the ceiling and rug of the room below the effected bathroom before we noticed the problem. Given the age of the plumbing, John is the only one we trusted to come out and repair the problem - old fixtures have a way of being difficult! John came out very quickly. While it wasn't clear what caused the leak to develop, John implemented a repair that would prevent the recurrence of any leak issues with that toilet. We appreciate his proactive approach to repairs. Additionally, he improve the performance of the flushing mechanism of a different toilet, and did not charge us for that service. We continue to be so happy with his service, and will call him again for any other plumbing problems.

As usual, John's work speaks for itself. High quality job and very easy to work with. Worth every dollar spent.

John has done lots of work in my house, usually smaller projects (leaking toilet, sink repairs, etc.), and has always been reliable, helpful, transparent about the work that is being done, and fair. He has also offered advice on other home issues. I can't recommend him enough!

John was great and I will definitely use him in the future for all of my plumbing needs. He was punctual and arrived on time as planned, and was cheerful and offered helpful advice the whole time. He was a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend.

He's an Australian guy. He needed a special kind of stem because this was a special faucet. He actually went out and tracked down that stem and brought it back. He was very reasonable. He's one of the old fashioned plumbers. He will be able to fix it and not just pull it out, throw it away, and sell you a new one. I'm about to call him this coming week to put in a new showerhead.

Unfortunately the old drain pipe rusted out just before the extreme cold spell (the arctic vortex!) we just went through, so John was slammed with frozen pipe repairs and needed to reschedule our appointment twice. Fortunately, my situation was not an emergency as I was able make a temporary repair that kept waste from running across the basement floor. He was very conscientious and called well in advance of the scheduled appointments (to ask for the reschedule) and didn't just leave us hanging wondering where he was. I am a better than average DIY'er with excellent fine woodworking/cabinetry and electrical skills, but only competent plumbing chops. The main idea I want to convey in this review is his work is top notch. Looking under the sink at how he hooked up the new drain, with proper venting and replaced the ice maker shut-off valve, the first thing that came to mind was: "Now that's how it's supposed to look! That's really good work." The new drain line to the existing waste stack across the basement room was no less well done: proper slope on the drain line, neat, solid joints, and no mess in the kitchen or basement. When I get around to updating our two full baths (one will need shower drain and supply lines moved) Kangaroo Plumbing will definitely be at the top of my short list for getting estimates.

John was here on time and even rescheduled with us once the leak proved worse than we originally thought to come earlier. If you can call plumbing beautiful, he did a gorgeous job. The area was neat, the work looks great and the repairs were fixed on-time and at a reasonable price. Will definitely consider him our primary plumber and call him for anything we need. Highly recommend.

John was very professional. He called because he was running behind at his earlier repair and he was at the house when he told me over the phone. We have a home warranty, so John diagnosed the problem, wrote it up and spoke to the home warranty people and answered their list of questions. John went to work immediately and fixed the problem with what appeared to be little effort (although it would have taken me hours to do the same). It's clear that John is an expert in his field. For our repair, he turned off the gas line, disassembled the leaky valve and replaced it. He verified the leak issue was resolved and he relit the pilots for the furnace and hot water heater. I would definitely recommend John and Kangaroo Plumbing for any job.
