Response from KANGAROO PLUMBING INC
I am sorry to see you were so unhappy with my services. As you can see if you read my other reviews, the high quality of my work and my professionalism is undeniable. I am surprised by your comments regarding my prices as when we set up the appointment I explained that I have a $75.00 call out fee and then the cost of the services/repairs are stated in writing before any work is performed. As arranged, upon inspection of the issues that you presented, I gave you a written estimate which you approved without hesitation. I then went ahead and began the proposed work. Regarding your comment of “Simply to tighten a pipe (that by the way continued to leak after they left and had to call someone else to fix) was an additional $75” (1) As I carefully explained, once it became apparent, the existing shut off valve serving the kitchen sink was in such bad shape that it broke when I tried to shut it off. I then quoted a total price of $75.00 to replace the whole valve with a new high quality ball valve. This was the only “Extra” item and you authorized me to proceed before I performed this task. It was not just a simple “tighten” (2) The leak you mentioned (that you noticed 10 days later) was nothing to do with this valve and was on the old water filter housing that is under your sink. I told you at the time of service, this old neglected filter is probably going to cause problems and I offered to disconnect it but you opted not to do so. I am always careful working around old corroded plumbing and was careful not to disturb this filter. Then, after spending a half an hour trying to repair your old shower faucet only to find it was beyond repair and needed to be replaced, I charged you nothing for that service. The fact that the plumbing in your home is deteriorating due to age and neglect is beyond my control. I admit that I did forget to take off my shoes off once and I am sorry but I did so unintentionally and did not mean to offend. You listed the date of my service as February 1, 2016 when it was actually December 23, 2016. You called me to notify me of this new leak in the middle of the night at 1228AM on Saturday January 2, 2016. You left a message on my voice mail. When I returned your call the following day I was surprised that you were angry with me for not answering the phone at 1228AM in the morning. When I then offered to come and attend to this small drip first thing on Monday you said that was not good enough and told me you intend to leave a scathing review on Angie’s List. Regardless, I am sorry that my efforts to resolve this matter did not satisfy you. I hope you are able to put this all behind you and I can service you again in the future.
