Mr. Kangaroo himself answered the phone, was able to find a time the same day, called ahead to say he was on his way, and arrived on time. He was courteous, very efficient, and did the job neatly, including replacing a couple of valves that had rusted out (making me glad I didn't try the job myself), without altering the cost he had quoted me for the replacement.

I selected Kangaroo based on other Angie's List reviews on the basis that he understood old homes and that he would troubleshoot first before replacing. He did exactly that. We had one plumber tell us that we had to replace the entire old cast iron utility sink because of a leaking pipe. With Kangaroo, the pipe was fixed in no time with no leaks and when another section started leaking, he came to get me to show me what was happening, said he thought tightening would do the trick, but because it is so old a bad chain reaction could potentially start. He tightened it up and the leak stopped. It was very nice to get the warning and have him show me what was going on so I would be informed and forewarned should the attempt to tighten it go awry. He is coming back next week to explore why a large water spot appears on our second floor wall when we run water on the third floor. Another plumber just said "oh stack needs to be replaced roof to basement" just by looking at the wall. John will actually poke holes in the wall and determine exactly what needs to be done. Brilliant. Milberg & Associates, who also remodels bathrooms, told me I had to rip the wall down to the studs and tear out the entire bathroom ceiling on the second floor and the third floor bathroom floor to fix the problem. John said he felt like there would be minimal disruption -- definitely no ceiling and floor removal. His entire approach is common sense, economical and with respect and understanding of old houses and old plumbing. I will hire him again and again.

Initially I tried to do this myself, thinking it would be a pretty simple job. (For someone with more plumbing experience I'm sure it is.) I got stuck halfway through. This wouldn't be a big deal, except most of the plumbing in my house is pretty old and there are very few shut off valves. The only way to shut off water to the sink was to shut off water to the entire house. So I needed to get this fixed ASAP. I called on a Sunday and expected an answering machine or an answering service. Instead the owner answered. The next day he arrived when he said he would. Hooked up the faucet, and managed to explain why I was having trouble doing it myself without making me feel like a complete idiot. It was a good experience. I'd call him again.

We had a terrible drain clog on Friday night that resulted in a leak down our main plumbing stack. We have an old house with old plumbing, and this is our only bathroom. Our homeowner's warranty company was unable to find a plumber that would respond on the weekend, and we called Kangaroo Plumbing on Saturday afternoon after seeing the good reviews on Angie's List. John was able to visit within the hour and fix the problem in about that same amount of time. We were so grateful that he was not only able to help, but also that he picked up the phone on a Saturday afternoon to take our call! John is friendly and professional, and we would not hesitate to contact him again.

We've called John out several times to fix minor plumbing issues in our older home. He's very accommodating and always comes to see the job quickly. John is extremely professional, and will give you tips to do things yourself - he took the time to show me the best way to caulk a bathtub, so that in future I can do it myself! We've had a problem with a leaking bathtub, leaving a water stain on the ceiling underneath. John took a cautious (and cost-effective!) approach, cutting small access panels through two closets in order to get to the problem as opposed to immediately ripping down the walls or ceiling. I'll definitely be calling him again for any future plumbing issues.

He has done a number of jobs for us and he has ALWAYS done a good job for us. His price range is fair and his capability is very good. He's a nice guy and I'm happy to know that he's back in town and has his business active once again.

My neighbor recommended Kangaroo Plumbing (named because the plumber is from Australia). When I needed a plumber, I called him up. I told him about the problem and he came. He couldn't figure out what the problem was, which was frustrating. At the end, I still had the leak, but I knew what it wasn't. It wasn't the toilet. Still, he was such a nice guy that I didn't mind paying for something fruitless. He was on time and professional. He really thoroughly took it apart and put it back together, so I think the quality of his work was still good.

He was prompt and he is a very good communicator. We let him know what we thought we needed done and he told us what needed doing, so we could give him the okay. He always kept us informed.

They are inexpensive especially for what excellent service they provide. They treat me very well and the guy who works for them he is very nice to me.

John is an excellent plumber. I have used him many times, & will again in the future. He's very professional, & very knowledgeable. His price is current. I called him; we set up a time; he arrived & did the installation as requested. Problem fixed very quickly.

The serviceman was neat, clean cut, and on time. He was friendly and skilled and went right to work and had the job finished in record time. I was very pleased and plan to call them back in the future if needed.

My experience with John was truly bizarre. Before his first appointment, he called to say he would be late. He called later and canceled and rescheduled for the next afternoon. He was late this time as well. The first thing he did was start to fix the kitchen faucet. After complaining about the poor quality of the existing work, he tried to unscrew the faucet and broke off the screw that holds it on. No big deal, right? Well, he didn't know what kind of faucet it was, and he wasn't sure he could get a replacement. He had all kinds of excuses as to why he couldn't fix it, and I began to get very frustrated. I finally had to leave the room to avoid blowing my top. When I came back a few minutes later, he had packed up all his stuff to leave. He didn't fix the other stuff, and he left me with a broken faucet. His last words were "it wasn't my fault." Clearly, John has some issues with professionalism and responsibility. Avoid him, or you may be left high and dry, too.

He arrived on time. He was very pleasant. His assistant was supposed to send me a bill. When he didn't, and I wrote to ask for one, he was pleasant. The only problem is my bathroom still leaks.

They called back on a Sunday, and we made an appointment for the next day. He ensured I had found the turn off valve for the area. He came on time, did the work and cleaned up nicely. He will return to install pressure valve, and I will also have him review faucets and other plumbing needs throughout house. He gave good guidance on increasing the size of the water heater or other options to avoid cold showers!

HE DID A VERY GOOD JOB AND CALLED WHEN HE WAS DELAYED. HE IS VERY NICE PERSON.

JOHN WAS CAREFUL AND THOROUGH. I FELT THAT HE DID QUALITY WORK. JOHN ALSO CLEANED UP THE WORK AREA WHEN HE WAS DONE.

SURPRISED THAT HE CHARGED $75 SERVICE CHARGE FOR COMING OUT TO EVALUATE PROBLEM AND TO PROVIDE QUOTE. NO OTHER PLUMBER HAS CHARGED FOR INITIAL CONSULTATION. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED, NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE HE CHARGED BUT BECAUSE HE DID SO WITHOUT WARNING US IN ADVANCE THAT THAT WAS HIS PRACTICE.

THEY NEVER RETURNED MY PHONE MESSAGE, SO WE CONTACTED ANOTHER PLUMBER.

WHEN I INITIALLY CALLED, JOHN TOLD ME HE WAS VERY BUSY AND WOULD BE ABLE TO COME ON FRIDAY BUT HE WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO COME A DAY EARLY. JOHN WORKED OVER THREE HOURS, LEFT AT 5 P.M. AND STILL HAD ANOTHER CALL TO MAKE THAT DAY. JOHN IS PLEASANT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND EXPLAINED WHAT HE DID AND THE REASONS FOR HIS ACTIONS. THIS WAS OUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH JOHN'S WORK, AND WE WERE PLEASED.

HE DID TELL ME HE WAS BUSY, BUT HE WOULD CALL BACK. I CALLED AGAIN ON MONDAY AND HE FINALLY RETURNED MY CALL ON WEDNESDAY. BY THAT TIME, I HAD ALREADY HIRED ANOTHER PLUMBER TO DO THE WORK AND IT WAS DONE!

JOHN IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, PROFESSIONAL, DOES EXCELLENT WORK AND IS EASY TO COMMUNICATE WITH.

JOHN WAS PROMPT, POLITE & VERY REASONABLE. (WE HAD A QUOTE FROM ANOTHER PLUMBER THAT WAS 8 TIMES THE CHARGE FROM KANGAROO.) BROUGHT ALL NECESSARY EQUIPMENT (DISPOSER, FLUSHING EQUIPMENT ETC. THIS WAS ALL INCLUDED IN HIS PRICE. EVERY THING IS IN A-1 CONDITION NOW. HE'S GREAT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

HE IS VERY TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL. HE WAS NEAT AND CLEANUP WAS CONSCIENTIOUS.

THE KANGAROO PLUMBER IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. HE GIVES ME THE IMPRESSION THAT HE HAS GOOD OLD FASHIONED TRAINING AND SKILLS THAT ARE SOMETIMES HARD TO FIND.

EVERY PLUMBER, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MR WARBURTON, WOULD NOT CONSIDER FIXING THE PIPE WITHOUT ADDING IN A LARGE JOB TO REPLACE OUR ENTIRE BATHROOM. ALL OF THE ESTIMATES WERE IN THE $5000-7000 RANGE. WE RECEIVED A REASONABLE AND ACCURATE ESTIMATE FROM MR WARBURTON. HE REPLACED OUR PIPE AND WE HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE THAT TIME WITH THE REPAIR. HE IS ALSO A REGISTERED MASTER PLUMBER SINCE 1972. EXCELLENT SERVICE. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME.
