Completed the deck in a timely manner, but the quality wasn't there. Initially the work looked well, but there were details that were not done with common sense. He left a portion of the handrails to the steps completely open, which is most importantly unsafe to any child, adult, or pet. Any of the stated could fall through causing physical harm. Other rail portions of the deck were also left loose instead of fastened properly. The structural integrity was good and we could not complain about that. We contacted him about the unfinished portion of the handrail and he said he would do it no problem. Shortly after contact he informed us he injured himself and could not work for a few months. We told him we would wait thinking that we would not have to pay for it because he never once mentioned anything about paying extra. Several months later, we contacted him again and he then insisted on the fee for the unfinished portion of handrails. He claimed his design was as pictured and listed according to the contract prior to his work. The picture that was provided to us did not have that portion shown in the design or else we would have quickly refuted. He also never told us that the portion would be left open. Basically the guy can do quality work, but it's if he wants to. I feel he cuts corners when he can to downsize his own costs. We did get the handrails completed by another contractor and it took less than an hour. I believe he simply did not want to do the work. The lack of professionalism was absurd and the fact that he had his own business is even more preposterous. I do not believe he is currently in business and it is likely for the best.
