First of all, this was a head ache to even get the agreement to rent the property. We had tentative dates in the beginning, and our move-in date was pushed back. The owner kept expressing that the tenet takes first priority since they've had a good relationship (*keep that in mind). When I went to first take a walk through of the rental prior to the lease being signed, the previous tenet had long-haired cats. There was cat hair everywhere and I expressed my disgust with the cleanliness. I was assured it would be cleaned. And, on move-in day, the property was clean. The carpets were even wet. Though, there was one window in the master bedroom that had a crack in it. I was again assured the window would be fixed. During our year of rental, the window was NEVER replaced. Oh, and that cat-thing, after a couple days, we found fleas on our toddler. The fix.... "you will need to move your furniture out so we can bug bomb the place." I was not pleased, so I found an all natural deterrent at Pet Smart that would eliminate fleas. The fleas were gone and a nice clover odor remained. I was slightly p***** that the landlord would not help with any expense for moving our furniture after we had just moved into the place to deal with the flea infestation. After nine months, I knew we would again move. We gave the landlord plenty of notice. Though, we knew we could possibly move out a month early. Within a month, the landlord had calls. Since we did not completely know our definite move-out date, we were getting pressured to give a date. When we knew the date (which was two weeks earlier than the year lease ending), we were not allowed to move-out early even though we were badgered to give a date and was verbally expressed that the rent would be pro-rated for the month. No new tenet available, so we had to wait until the month ended and pay the full month. Also, keep in mind, for those couple months remaining, we would get multiple calls needing our immediate attention right away. BUT!! If we needed something, our calls would not be answered within a week. I had make myself available at the office just to get an answer about a question. Moving-out: this was a complete A**-PAIN!!! We were given a list of items to clean. It was LONG and annoying. The consequence if we did not clean thoroughly; our deposit would pay for the cleaning crew and cleaning products. I do believe it was a $20/hour rate. Hmmm... I'm not sure if that is completely legal?!? Anyway, we cleaned our a**** off, and we requested a final walk through. The walk through went well and we received our deposit back. Though, the stress put upon us was not well accepted. The landlord is a nice lady, but extremely anal-retentive. So, if I were to recommend this group, NO. I would recommend this group if you really had to live in Selinsgrove, because it is one of the only organizations available in the area to rent. Ridiculous. It is like a monopoly for the small area. So, again, if you HAVE to move into the area, the time spent will not be so bad, but the getting in and leaving was painful. GOOD LUCK!!
Description of Work: The service was rental property. My family lived in their rental property for a year (as contractual with the lease). The rental property was a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath.
