I have a warranty with American Home Shield so CKC was assigned when I had an issue. As is the case with 50% of my claims with AHS the problem wasn't covered. However Chris & Brendon were able to advise me on my options and quickly installed a replacement expansion tank at a reasonable price. I understand that it is situational but my experience did not reflect the more negative reviews on this site

These "plumbers" are not in the plumbing business, they are in the business of making excuses for home warranty companies. Notice all the other reviews like this, AHS uses them to avoid paying for any repairs. Avoid at all costs if you value your time.

Terribly! Two rough looking guys came to our house and proceeded to remove the bottom cover of water heater where pilot is located. They used a cigarette lighter to re-ignite the pilot. This is similar except that I was using a gas grill lighter with a long handle previously.. I asked what causes pilot light failures and could not get a straight answer. They left within 10 minutes and said that was all that they could do. I later called the CKC Plumbing and they said that these guys claimed that I turned the pilot off. That is totally illogical. We want hot water! Why would I turn off the pilot light switch? TOTAL LIES! They came out under a home warranty through HSA Home Warranty. The previous homeowner paid $425.00 for this warranty. I had to pay a $100.00 service charge on top of that. I would never recommend CKC Ppluming! Saturday evening Sept. 23,2017 the same problem occurred and I had to re-light the pilot . UPDATE 9-27-17 Very badly. .I read CKC Plumbing"s response to my review. First a pilot light does not go off several times for no reason at all. This unit dates back to 2002.These two guys did nothing more than I did several times. I talked to a plumber who told me that the Thermocouple where the pilot lights was in need of replacement. If these guys hung around for more than 10 minutes they MAY have figured that out. That would have in no way taken advantage of the warranty company. $100 just for them to come out and do what I had been doing. By the way the pilot light problem happened again Saturday night!

It is always unfortunate when a homeowner does not understand the contract of a home warranty purchased for or by them. While there are a number of home warranty services on the market there are none that we are aware of that cover a preventative replacement of a unit. Coverage is always dependent upon a verifiable failure that can be duplicated while the technician is at the home working on the unit and it the failure is due to normal age related wear and tear. Once any failure is verified if a repair can correct the issue a repair is performed. If the entire unit is failing and a repair cannot correct the issue then a replacement would be recommended and submitted for review under the contract for coverage, policy limits and any associated out of pocket expenses not covered under the warranty. In addition, the service fee or deductible is also part of the contract between the warranty company and the homeowner and is collected by the company any time any service is requested by the policy holder. Preventative replacements are certainly available to any homeowner at their request, however, that cost is completely out of pocket and never covered by a home warranty. Just as we would never tell a private pay customer they have no choice but to to replace something that does not actually require replacement, we do not submit false reports to a home warranty company either. In this particular case, the pilot switch was turned to the off position when the technician opened the unit. The flame lit normally and there is no sign of tank failure. There were also discussions afterwards detailing the coverage parameters with a full explanation that if a part is failing that part will be replaced, not the entire unit which is currently intact. If there is no verifiable failure at the time the tech is in the house, there is no preventative replacement done to any part or unit. A home warranty policy can provide great value to homeowners. Most cover a large percentage of the expense for failure to a home's major mechanical, plumbing, appliance and electrical components. However it is important for policy holders to understand their coverage and the limitations of any policy you take out. Just as with any insurance policy (homeowners', life, auto, health, GAP etc,), there are limitations and exclusions to the coverage provided by any policy. It is regrettable that the open internet review venues have become a common sounding board for policy holders who are either unaware of or in disagreement with limitations in their policies. We do not believe in engaging in banter and are always disappointed to see derogatory or inflammatory comments. Our technicians are clean, neat and experienced. They always attempt to have cordial discussions with our clients regarding the findings while providing any service. They attempt to review any findings, failures, repair or replacement options with all of our customers. In the case of home warranty customers, the explanation of certain coverage limitations is often part of the discussion. It is important for homeowners who have a home warranty to understand, recognize and evaluate the value to them versus any limitations within those policies.

I had to use CKC for my mother's water tank leaking and leaking water pipes from the home warranty. My mother's water tank was leaking on Friday morning and I called AHS and they in turn told me that CKC would contact me to schedule. Karen from CKC called to schedule me for Monday between 1-3pm. My mother had a doctor's appt at 3pm and I expressed my concern that I needed to leave at 2:30 and I was afraid I would potentially miss them and if she could move up the time. She wasn't able to accommodate that request but she could put a note that I had to leave by 2:30. (I mean what happens if they arrive at 2:15and they don't have enough time to fix it). Instead of potentially missing them I asked for another time frame and she offered the next day (Tue) between 10-2pm. Fine. Tues comes and at 1:40pm, no call, no show. I call and no answer. I leave a message. Karen calls back at 1:55pm to tell me that they were not coming until between 3-5pm!!!! Are you kidding me!!! I wasted 4hrs waiting for them! You couldn't have called earlier to give me notice. Karen's excuse was that they had 2emergencies from AHS that they had to do first. I don't know about you, but not having hot water for 5days seems like an emergency to me. IF they got a call for emergency service, that is fine but have to decency and common courtesy to give me a call to let me know you will be late. Karen's "I gave you the option of Monday" was irrelevant to the situation. They arrived at 4:45, wrote up the ticket to replace the water tank and left. Had to remind them about the leaking pipe, which wasn't on the work order but the gentleman wrote it up to check with AHS and their office later. He says to expect them back before Friday since it has to be approved and parts ordered. Friday comes and no word. I call, no answer. I leave a message. Karen text me saying they are waiting for material. She anticipates the return scheduling for Tue but can't confirm until Monday. ,Monday comes no call. I call AHS to complain. AHS states that they received the water tank past Friday!!! Karen flat out LIES to AHS TWICE!!, First telling them that they did arrive on Tues and I wasn't there. Secondly, that she spoke with me explaining that they were waiting for the part for the pressure valve. Now here is the timeline..water tank busts on a Friday, come to inspect on Tues, get approved for the work on WED, received the water tank on Fri. So now we are waiting for a pressure valve??? Why couldn't they have replaced the water tank Friday??? If I didn't live nearby, what would my elderly mother have done without hot water for 11days so far. She calls me Tues to schedule the replacement on Wed. Are you telling me that it has taken almost a week to get a part??? My goodness, the total lack of professionalism and urgency this company showed was astounding!!! 13Days without hot water in the winter, we've already had temps in the 30's. I don't know about you but I would consider that an emergency. And just because AHS didn't tell you it was an emergency order, you should have been able to decipher that yourselves. How would you like not have hot water for 13 days!!??? To tell me that a 40gallon natural gas hot water heater is $2000???? I can't understand how they have such a high rating on Angie's List and such a poor rating on Yelp???

I was referred to CKC plumbing through my homeowners insurance policy. He took the time and detailed all of this issues with my sump pump. He explained to me how to fix the issue and where to purchase the product need, if my HOP did not cover the work. We spoke for almost and hour and he patiently answered all of my questions, even about other issues he was not called out for. I was able to fix the sump pump myself (my HOP did not cover any of the work needed.) I plan on using CKC plumbing to fix my leaky shower drain and other issues I have discovered. A trustworthy true professional.

CKC Plumbing was referred to me by my home warranty company. I determined that my water heater was leaking about 8pm so I called my home warranty company for service that night and I received a call from Karen @ CKC about 7:30am with a service window. Craig arrived on time and determined immediately that my water heater was corroded and I needed to be replaced. The cost of the W/H was covered by the home warranty but Craig pointed out some other things that needed to be replaced/fixed that were not covered by the home warranty. Not sure if the prices were reasonable or excessive. Craig was nice and knowledgeable but he talks so fast that I didn't understand everything he was saying. Had to ask him to repeat himself a number of times. The water heater was replaced within a few days and, as far as I can tell, it was installed properly with no issues. Reasons I will not use them again: * They are supposed to be available for emergencies but they never picked up the phone after hours or returned a voicemail message or text when requested. * As the female homeowner, I wished Craig would have directed his questions and explanations to me instead of my boyfriend who is not the homeowner. My boyfriend (who also found Craig's behavior to be disrespectful) told Craig a couple of times that he was not the homeowner, I was, but that did not seem to dissuade him from only talking to him. Will call another plumber for other non-home warranty issues.

Services for the warranty company customer belongs to has structured guidelines regarding upgraded emergency service. If the warranty service determines a request fits specific criteria to qualify for upgraded emergency service they place a call to request upgraded service. Otherwise, all normal service requested are forwarded via email and are contacted within 24 normal business hours and scheduled within 48 normal business hours. This service came in after hours as a normal service and the customer was contacted and scheduled within 1/2 hour of our opening in the morning. I am sorry if she did not understand that was the process through the warranty company. Also, pricing is predetermined based on the customer's coverage under the individual warranty policy. I am sorry you took offense and felt that Craig was disrespecting you as a female homeowner. It certainly was not intentional. Craig's communication is a main reason most of our customers insist only he service their home after meeting him. I do know that this particular week two days were lost making it an incredibly stressful week for service due to extreme weather. Which also presented an extreme increase in emergency service requests also a result of the extreme weather. On the initial visit, Craig had two full days worth of service scheduled to accommodate customers due to the weather conditions. So again, I apologize if you felt he was rushed and interpreted any feminine disrespect as that simply is not in his nature.

On time, pleasant, professional. Referred to me originally through my home warranty. I did not know the name of the part that needed to be replaced but the service provider seemed confident of what was needed. I had done some preliminary shopping to see if I could find a similar part but hadn't been successful identifying it. Due to the high cost of the replacement part he said the service would cost me $575. I reluctantly agreed to this because I needed to do my laundry. My fault for not doing more research. When I looked up the part after he left I found the same or similar part for only $250. The box clearly indicated "easy to install" and from the look of it as I watched during the replacement it was work I could have easily done myself. He was working on the actual replacement for less than 30 minutes and it appeared about as complex as some of the other plumbing repairs I've already done myself in my home. Very speedy service but to me over $10 per minute is outrageous. In retrospect a conversation about what would be involved in this type of repair, such as time, level of difficulty, actual part cost, etc. would have been helpful. The person taking my phone call was not the same person who completed the service. Until I looked up the cost of the part I was very interested in this provider for other major bathroom renovation work that needs to be completed. I may still seek a quote since it was professionally and timely completed however I will certainly be seeking other comparative quotes as well due to the high cost per hour for service.
