The tree removal was orchestrated well. The crew arrived on time and took a large tree down without any problems. All debris was cleaned up and removed. I would definitely recommend their services.

Our experience with Emery Tree Service of PA has been a bit frustrating to say the least. We did our due diligence and vetted them about as much as we could, what with checking different review pages and the Better Business Bureau. Everything seemed to check out for the most part. We chose them because they we local to the new community we had just moved into and as I stated, their reviews for the most part seemed positive. Looking back, just because a company is local does not always mean it was a solid choice. Let me start by saying that we have given them ample opportunity to come and fix all the damage caused by the simple removal of one buckeye tree and they have steadfastly refused. The estimate they provided was not the lowest we had received but after talking with my contact at Emery Tree Service of PA, he indicated that he had added a bit of time and cost to the project so that his crew would have extra time to be mindful of a bed of freshly planted grass that we were concerned about. This level of care, though at a cost, impressed us enough that we hired them, believing that extra care would be taken, and the least amount of damage would take place. This was 100% incorrect. The new grass bed was destroyed and left with deep muddy trenches from their equipment. I wish that was the only damage but sadly, in accessing the property they had ran their trucks into our hillsides, causing deep gouges. They parked the chipper in an area of the adjacent yard and from the weight of the equipment, it began to sink leaving more deep gouges. The crew noticed this but kept on working. Did I mention that they never cleaned up all the debris from the tree removal? They didn’t and we were left to do most of the cleanup ourselves. Buckeyes, bark, branches were everywhere. If this was “taking extra care” I wouldn’t want to see what NOT taking the extra time would have looked like. I reached out to my contact at Emery Tree Service of PA, and explained our concerns and shared some photos of all the damage and to my surprise, he was at least receptive to send someone out the next day to lay seed and straw and even offered a credit of $300.00. That was all they did. They came out and dropped some seed and straw and were gone. Nothing was flattened back out or filled in. So, I guess we were supposed to be ok with grass growing back but in the deep trenches and gouges they had caused? I’m learning not to pay contractors immediately when the job is completed until we have had time to inspect the work thoroughly but, this time, we had turned over a check in good faith. That was a mistake that won’t likely happen again. When I reached out to my contact at Emery Tree Service of PA and explained that we had already paid with a check and how did he want to handle the $300.00 credit he explained in an email that he did not have the authority to issue a credit and what he meant was a $300.00 credit towards additional work, should we every need it. Now let me ask you, why in the world would I contract more services from Emery Tree Service of PA after what they had done to our property? In what world is that actual compensation for all the damage they have caused? It wasn’t and I asked for someone at the main office I could speak with. After a couple more emails prodding Rob for an additional contact I was given the number of someone I could speak with. This additional contact seemed nice enough and even apologized for all the damage caused by the crew. She asked if we would be okay with the $300.00 refund Rob had originally offered and said she would get back in touch with me if she was able to get it approved. The next day she emailed me asking if we were still okay with the $300.00 refund and that she could send a check. I replied and asked if they would be willing to turn a claim into their insurance. After all, this is why companies, contractors and vendors have and present COIs (certificates of insurance) for when damage, even if inadvertent, takes place. I also indicated, merely because we wanted the whole ordeal to be behind us, that if they were willing to refund us $600.00 to go towards the damage, we would consider the situation resolved. No, it would not cover the entire amount we would end up having to pay for repairs but at the very least, it was compensation and would certainly help. The next day after not hearing from her, I sent an additional email, again suggesting that I would be receptive to them to send out someone to make the necessary repairs and she quickly responded that the matter had been addressed and considered closed. Was this how they believed the situation should be resolved? We were not looking for any sort of huge payout or making any outrageous claims. We simply wanted the damage they had created corrected and feel that they completely fell short of good customer service. I have purposely not bad-mouthed them outright and have only stated the facts and our experience. I will not tell you not to use their service but will caution you to not immediately turn over payment to a vendor till you have had a chance to thoroughly inspect their work and are satisfied. It would have been a completely different situation and review if we had simply waited and presented our concerns first. That was our mistake. And sadly, I think they knew that and that’s where they took advantage.

On time, great crew, cleaned up beautifully. I had two huge trees cut down and removed with one being very difficult to get to. They did a fabulous job, great company. They know their trees, and they know what needs to be done! Honest, trustworthy, strong valued work ethic. I will hire them again.

Excellent! They arrived on time, worked steadily, cleaned up thoroughly, accomplishing everything that was asked of them. For instance, one tree that had to be taken down was a dying 80+ foot spruce located within six feet of a spindly oak sapling. I asked them to be careful of the sapling as I wanted it to fill in the canopy left by the spruce. After the tree came down and was carted away, I looked closely at the oak for possible damage which I felt sure there would be. To my surprise, the oak was untouched, not a scratch or broken branch. This is a company of surgeons! I have more work to be done, so I'll be sure to ask them back. They're great!

They did email me a few times saying what they could do for me, but I never called them back because I did not want to use them, I went into the hospital and came out, got the letter today saying that I owe 850$ when they did not do any services. I am very upset.. I feel that I have been taken advantage of.

We had an urgent situation in that the large (approx 60 ft high) locust tree in our back yard was severely leaning over the street. It looked like it might fall down with the next storm. I got estimates from a few other tree services who insisted that it was necessary to use a crane to hold the tree up while they cut it down. Emery said they could do it just with their bucket truck and that they could do it two days later. True to their promise, they showed up two days later and in two hours the tree was down, without the use of a crane. The tree didn't move while they took it down. Their price was 1/3 that of the other tree services. They did an excellent job, cleaning up afterward and taking all tree pieces with them.

They did an excellent job. They provided good service. They came when they said they were going to come. They couldn?t finish in one day due to the weather. So they came back and went over everything with me again since I have a fairly large yard. Their professionalism was very high. They were clean and you couldn?t even make out that they were here. Their price was fair. I recommend them and I would use their services in the future too.

The service was outstanding. I contacted Emery and they came out while I was at work that very same day and left the estimate in my mailbox. They also completed the job while I was at work. I tried to get this done the year before and contacted four tree service companies, both large and small, and never even got a return phone call. Emery did a fabulous job and did it exactly as they promised when they promised to do it. I would recommend them to anyone that wants their trees cared for in a timely and professional manner.
