THERMAL SHIELD ENTERPRISES, LLC

We went to their booth at the Northampton Day Fair in 2006. About a week later, a saleman named Ron Hall came to our house and gave an estimate. He was a pressure salesperson. He said if we signed that day, we could get a discount. He also promised double lifetime warranty, sunroom installed before Thanksgiving, all work done by their own workers, etc. To my regret, we signed on the dotted line. It was just before Thanksgiving before we heard from them again. They cited that they are having problems getting permits from the township. I asked them why didn't they know how hard it is to get permits in this township? Their company is located in this township and the owner lives in this township. In December, a concrete contractor called. He came and surveyed the area. I told him I was concerned about pouring concrete in the middle of Winter. He agreed. It was almost Spring before I heard from them again. A different concrete contractor came out. He was late, he lied when he was late, and he didn't even show up one Saturday when we waited for him all day. After the concrete was finally poured, the contractors came out. They told me they are not Thermal Shield employees. They are contractors, another lie by the salesman. When I questioned the owner about all the false promises made by his salesman, he said "Ron is no longer with us." How convenient. The sunroom installers were late on the first day and they blamed the manufacturer for being late. Then they worked for a short time and left before 3pm. The installation was supposed to take 3 days, but it dragged on for about 2 weeks. When they tried to schedule the final installation date, I told Thermal Shield that we will be out of town. They demanded the final payment. I said I will not be home and I will not pay in advance nor leave the check somewhere. They insisted on doing the work that day and want the payment that day. We had to cancel our trip and stay home to wait for them to finish the work. When I told the contractor that I was not satisfied with the workmanship, his answer was pretty much, "too bad". The screen on the sliding door is not flush against the door, so bugs can still get in. The gutter does not work properly. Water does not come down the spout, but on the other side with no spout. I did not want to pay in full because of the unfinished business, but he became belligerent. Fearing for my safety, I paid him even though I knew they would not come back to complete the work to my satisfaction. Just weeks after the installation, a siding fell off. That is when I found out that the labor is only guaranteed for a year. And if something is wrong with the windows and screen, you need to take it down yourself and bring it to Thermal Shield for replacement. I discovered a roof leak in the corner of the room couple days ago (1 1/2 years later). I was told it would cost $150 for a service call and that does not including labor. To anyone who wants a sunroom, do not buy from Thermal Shield!

They said they would give us something put they didn't give it to us. They were three hours late. The one window that was two thousands dollars and it leaked and they said it was normal.

TOTAL DISASTER! It took 6 weeks to receive the windows then they scheduled to start replacement in the middle of a snow storm. The owner said leave the house or put on some coats! Finally convinced them to reschedule. The first crew spent 3 days making a mess of the house and yard while installing only 6 windows. They didn't clean up anything and left nails, broken casements, shards of metal and cigarette butts all over the yard. The first crew quit and they sent a second crew which was much more professional. Second crew discovered the first crew installed all the windows incorrectly so they had to reinstall those windows before finishing the job. Then discovered the remaining windows were measured wrong so they had to be reordered. All this time I had to call them to find out what was going on. Very poor customer service, their office number doesn't have voice mail that works.
