DO NOT HIRE!!! Elio Resto and Wendy Castillo of Terra Firma were contracted by my mother to restore a stone facade to the front of her home, rebuild a set of exterior stairs, replace her security doors, build an external vestibule, and remodel two of her bathrooms while he awaited the permit to begin the exterior in January 2017. They claimed they were giving us a discount. However, after nearly two years of this project, it is still unfinished-- not even 50% complete. However, Elio managed to overcharge for the work, blame a previous contractor for faulty work and charge more money to address an imaginary "unforeseen issues" before he could proceed-- he demolished our entire living room wall and framed out our bay window in the living room to rebuild, and it's the wrong size. He was told this while there was still just a hole in the drywall. He also uprooted stone from our property, cut it into smaller pieces, and has tried to set it on our house when he was contracted to set the front with a veneer from a local quarry we visited with him months ago! There's far from enough stone on our property for him to reuse. He's damaged our property in the process, entered our home unauthorized while no one was home, "lost" several keys to our property, stolen equipment, and left trash and debris-- even a bottle containing his waste on our lawn because he wasn't able to use our bathroom after leaving my mother's master bathroom unusable, unfinished since March 2017 (another paid incomplete project waiting to be finished). Even though he's been paid current, during his very last visit he had the nerve to ask for more money as a deposit for another unfinished project (a set of exterior stairs) he began without authorization stating he could not continue working on any of the other work because his "business account was in the negative". Against my advisement, he dug into the ground, leaving open holes for months and poorly back-filled after we contacted his insurance company to rectify the issue due to suffering water damage. Meanwhile, L&I has uncovered many issues with the work he had erected. He has not returned to our home to complete work, provided a timeline for completion, nor has he returned any forms of correspondence. Unless you want to just give away tens of thousands of dollars to them for incomplete work and TONS of personal excuses for why they can't show up for work, anyone considering this company should very seriously stay far away. They're scammers and thieves!!! I would not recommend this business at all!
