I was very impressed with the quick response to the message I left. He called me right back, and set up an appointment to meet with us the next week. He was courteous, very professional, and showed up on time. We may now wait until the spring to build, but we would use Mike and his company in the future. Definitely worth the call! Thank you!

We were so pleased with working with Mike and his guys from start to finish. We found him on Angie's List, and within a week of contacting him, we had met and received a bid. From start to finish the job took about 2 1/2 weeks, which we were pleasantly surprised with. We have 2 young kids and the guys were very nice and patient with them. They were always courteous and respectful with our house as well, and cleaned up the site every day before they left. We were so pleased with the new deck and the quality of their work that we are having them redesign our patio and redo a sagging retaining wall this fall. Many of our neighbors have commented on our beautiful new deck and have asked for their info! On a final note, there also was one instance when we had some bad wind that blew 1/3 of a tree into my driveway. My husband was not at home, and when the guys who were working in the back saw it, they immediately went to work with their saw and then drug all the branches to our backyard. I was very grateful as this probably saved me an emergency call to a tree service.

I needed four Sonotube foundations installed on very short notice for a pergola kit that I will assemble myself. Mike Goetz came over a few hours after I called and agreed to do the job a few days later. He sent two young men to start the work. They were very pleasant fellows who listened attentively to my instructions and completed the work promptly and correctly. Mike arrived near the end to inspect the job and help to finish up. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience and hope to hire Goetz Contracting again for future projects. It's a great feeling to know that I now have a contractor I can completely trust.

Mr. Goetz showed up on time, and provided a very competitive verbal bid from among three other bids. He tactfully made suggestions to improve the original design, and gave an estimate of a potential start date. He was very communicative throughout the process, such as calling to ask if it was okay to have lumber delivered a few days before the start date. He and his crew started on the agreed day, and quickly had the initial structure ready for the local inspector to approve. I believe the method he utilizes is to initially hang the over-sized support posts into the future concrete supports, allows for a perfectly flat deck surface, which is beyond code. Clearly his selection of materials is consistently of higher grade too. This includes high quality lumber, oversized support posts, quality screws, and trim. Attention to longevity and aesthetics were evident throughout, such as careful layout and height, precise miter cuts, properly spaced planking and lighting, and carefully concealed wiring down the center of the rail supports. Actually, the local building inspector was very impressed with the final product. Additionally, he installed an exterior door leading onto the deck. This involved cutting out the brick under an existing window, and trimming out to a finished product. The door fits wonderfully, the trim work is perfectly custom fitted, and the chaulking is fantastic. It is easy to see, Mr. Goetz has a code of superior craftsmanship, which he adheres to with pride. An example of his good intentions might be considered from a mis-understanding we had about the inclusion of deck lights. He installed these for no additional charge due to my understanding that they were to be included in our agreed price. When he did install the lights, he maintained his high level of craftsmanship in a timely manner. The final product is amazingly solid, and the fit and finish is something for me to be proud of as well as the builder. I would confidently and enthusiastically recommend Goetz contracting for deck construction.

In August 2013, my wife and I realized that we absolutely needed to replace our front stairs. Our first option was a well known home improvement retailer, but after seeing their fee quote (and knowing a few neighbors in our townhouse community that had similar work done by the major chains), we decided to request a second estimate. It was the best decision we could have made. Mike was always available when I would call, his price was incredibly reasonable, and he even offered to throw in a few "extras" - those extras turned out to be accent lighting on the front and back (including the risers to our front steps)! Our neighbors actually joked that our community board members might balk because our steps looked "too nice." Mike's team was very professional throughout, and Mike addressed every concern that we had from beginning to end. The quality of the craftmanship is outstanding. Prior to the rebuild, my front steps would "shake" if you stood on the bottom step and wiggled the railings (a feature that Mike pointed out when he came for the estimate). The new construction is so solid that I think the house will fall down before the steps do. Everything he did, including the finishes, was a total upgrade to the existing structure, and has superior quality compared to the neighbors' results from the major chains. Most incredibly, his price was lower than our initial quote. I would absolutely hire Mike again.

I'm not usually one to write reviews but the work that Goetz Contracting did was unbelievable. He brought to life my vision of a very detailed deck that would include detailed bordering, cedar cathedral ceiling, baby gate, lighting, electric and more. Mike was involved in every step of the process - him and his team were not only hardworking but so knowledgeable to help me with my questions. I would highly recommend him as your contractor for any deck, roof, patio that you want done. Even our county inspectors commented on how unbelievable his workmanship was when they came out to inspect once the work was done. Mike was always professional, honest him and his team were pleasure to work with, it's refreshing to come across a company where you feel like you got way more than you ever expected. We will be hiring him to finish our basement soon!!

Michael and crew were great to work with. They went above and beyond the scope of work. They were on time, worked efficiently and got the roof finished before the next rain. We would highly recommend them.

We had a very large deck we wanted done. Mike recommended a very good material and design and the quote was an outstanding price. He was very professional through the whole experience. Mike would continually call to alert us when they weren't able to show due to rain and if we had any design decisions to discuss. How often is it you get a contractor that you don't have to harass to get on the phone?!? He was great to work with. We would talk on occasion up until the build date and then very frequently through the whole experience. The lighting he installed on the steps and around the perimeter look great at night. Him and his crew worked through some very hot conditions and finished on time. We love the end result and feel that our home is now complete. We will use Mike and his crew again for future projects. Outstanding pricing and service, can't recommend him enough.

Mike, the owner of Goetz Contracting, was prompt. He was at the house just one day after I called him for an estimate. Once we decided on hiring Goetz Contracting, it was only a few weeks and Mike had the materials delivered and the work started the following day. I was still skeptical before the first day, but once Mike and his crew arrived and went right to work, I could see that everyone was on the same page and they worked methodically from one stage to the next. Each day, Mike and his crew showed up promptly and went right to work. They stopped for lunch each day and got right back to work after lunch. They started on Monday and completed the deck early on Saturday. What really impressed me about Mike and Goetz Contracting was the craftsmanship that went into the construction. Each board that went up was measured carefully, placed carefully, and adjusted to the perfect position before fastened. It was as if he was being as particular as he would be if he was building this deck on his own house. Mike and his crew were not simply following minimum standards, they were going above and beyond what was required. As the deck went up, I noticed that our new deck was better fastened to our house than our neighbors decks, build with 6" x 6" support posts when some of our neighbors decks had 4" x 4" support posts. Mike had included 2" x 6" cap rails on the railings as well as riser boards on the stairs. As far as I'm concerned, our new deck is a masterpiece. I felt compelled to add a comment about Goetz Contracting because it's hard to know what your getting from just one meeting with a contractor for an estimate. Although I did pick Goetz Contracting over the other estimates I got, I still wasn't thoroughly certain that I was hiring the right company. By the time they had completed our deck, I wasn't just satisfied with their work, I wanted to brag to everyone about them. If you hire Goetz Contracting to build a deck for your home, you will be thoroughly satisfied!
