Bill opened up my root beer, went in my freezer and helped himself my frosted mug and enjoyed a cold beverage??without permission. When I spoke to him regarding his behavior he said "the root beer was on the floor so I didn't know." All the pop that was being packed was on the floor. Then he proceeded to tell me that he didn't drink from the bottle but poured it in a cup and the majority of the root beer was still in the bottle and I could have it if I wanted it. ?Besides, it was flat anyway.? The entire time Bill just complained about being at my house and how he was ready to go and home. Not to mention he was sweating profusely, wiping the sweat off with his hands and then touching (packing) my dishes again??..with his sweaty hands. After the crew left I went to check in the kitchen to see the work that he had done I found an empty Twinkie wrapper in my pantry. He helped himself to a Twinkie as well. Even after I spoke to him regarding the root beer. This same crew was set to come back to load my things so I asked Bill if he was coming back. He replied, ?No, these people ain?t professional and I don?t work with unprofessional people. I might come back; I ain?t made up my mind yet. I really ain?t supposed to be here, I am on disability.? At the end of the packing day, the team still had not packed my downstairs bathroom, my basement nor my garage. On loading day, the crew showed up three people to load my entire home. One who told me that they hurt their back last week and won?t be loading much of anything. At 2:45p, I called Atlas to request more help and to find out the protocol for the number of people to load and move a 4-bedroom home. I was told by Jennifer that they would be done in about 2 hours but she would get back to me an hour and no one got back to me. I called them back at 4:05p and was transferred to Scott, who sold us the service, and was told that ?3 (people loading) is a good number.? Later that day, the Ron, one of the crew members, informed me that they couldn?t get my mattress down my narrow stairwell. The would have to bend the mattress and that would destroy it. Obviously I didn?t want them to destroy the mattress. I explained to them that the delivery people got the mattress up the stair through that same stairwell without destroying it so it should be able to come down the same way. The ?boss? of the crew Scott (who happen to be the one with the hurt back) stated that he had been doing this job for 20 years and that if he had to bend the mattress it would be damaged by having a bend/dent in the middle. So we would have to leave it behind. So I make the statement to him ?I don?t understand why the delivery people were able to get the mattress upstairs with your destroying it but you cannot.? He becomes irritated with me and says ?Well I don?t know; it is your house!? I calmly stated that he would not be speaking to me in that manner and I do not want my mattress damaged. We had an air conditioner running all day that was set to move with us. Ron turns it off unplugs and moves it and it spills gooey stuff. At which point, Scott ?the boss? says that they cannot move the air conditioner because it needs to be drained and cleaned so I would to leave it. It is now 6:15p and this the first I am hearing about this. If someone would have told me this ahead of time, then I would have prepped appropriately. They only thing I was told was that I had to unplug and defrost my deep freezer. I told then fine leave it. Ron then wraps it up in furniture padding and loads it on the truck. So I hope it doesn?t spill and destroy my items. At this point no one has eaten lunch, everyone is irritated and it starts to rain. It?s about 6:30p and they still had to load my basement and garage. The crew is in my alley yelling at one another, cursing each other out. The crew member, Ron just quits. He refuses to move anything else. So a friend and I are trying to find out what is going on and why he quit. He says ?I ain?t moving this s*** by myself.? I told him that Angie, the other crew member, (who was absolutely wonderful) was helping him so he wasn?t by himself. He says, ?I ain?t moving anything else in this s*** (referring to the rain). Would you move anything in this s***? You better call the name on that truck (referring to Atlas) and ask someone else to come help you.? So my friend began packing and loading boxes on the truck just so we can complete this move. Ron sat in my garage until they left at 9:42p. (so much for being finished in 2 hours). They were in my house packing and loading for almost 14 hours!!!!!!!!!!!! That is ridiculous. At the end of the load, Scott ?the boss? says, ?You?re a sweet girl, thanks for putting up with us.? Are you kidding me?? On the delivery end?.. I find blood on several places on one of my kitchen boxes, in the box, and on the paper that my dishes are wrapped in. Utterly and completely disgusting. Also the back of my mattress has rips and holes in several places, the trim to one of my dresses is off, there is scuffed and dented dresses and thing being packed inappropriately and mislabeled. We haven?t gotten nearly through all of our boxes and definitely expect to find other issues.
