I recommend using JR Freed for your decking projects. Jason arrived on the scheduled appointment day to take the deck measurements and give me an estimate. Jason, Michael and John were profesionals all the way .... did the work they said they would do, arrived on time everyday, even stayed later to make certain the job stayed on the time line that was promised. I absolutely love my deck. Jason rebuilt some of the underlying deck/frame/structures and found some existing water damage underneath my back door and underneath the siding ..... he fixed that as well for a very reasonable price. You won't go wrong using JR Freed Construction. I highly recommend their services. Trustworthy as well.

For starters, Jason showed up on time for our first appointment and got back to me with a quote when he said he would. That's always a good start. The two-man crew that actually did the installation were many things: they were polite and took time to answer my questions and clarify things I didn't understand; they arrived early and worked practically non-stop all day; they treated the exterior of my home with respect by cleaning up the work site every night; they also respected the interior of my home by never, and I do mean NEVER, entered without removing their shoes during their entire six and one-half days on the job. How often does a contractor ever do that? But most important, they were craftsman who took pride in what they were doing, paid meticulous attention to details, and provided me with a beautiful new deck that is beyond anything I could have imagined. I'm grateful to Jason and his crew for all their efforts. Way to go!

JR Freed was recommended to me by a co-worker to remove the existing 13 year old deck and replace it with low maintenance Trex Decking. I checked the companies web site and was impressed to say the least - I wondered if they even worked on projects as small as mine. Several of their show case projects on line ranged between $20K - to $60K. Jason, the owner, came out to give an estimate. We hit it off great with a lot in common. He was willing to take some time with me about the project and how he saw the dimensions working out. We talked about the Trex material and how to maintain it. We then talked about his work ethic. He said they do any size job so that a non issue. He tells his teams that every job is just as important as the next and the last - he expects every job to be done correctly and look great. He said he was very much a perfectionist. And the teams know that and work that way. He does work with the guys but just as a helper when he drops by the different projects to see how things are going and if they need anything. He also showed me other project on his tablet and one could only be impressed. I felt he was honest and I was going to get superior work from him. I was not disappointed! The removal of the old deck was done in one day and the footers were poured. After that set up o/n, the basic framing was completed. Another teamed took over after that and even worked on a Saturday to get caught up. On Saturday, Jason came by to see how things were going and help out for a while - he had his son with him, about 4-5 years old. I'm sure he rather be some place else but he took the time through the whole process of my deck construction to stop by and check on the progress. For the above reasons, I can, without qualification, highly recommend Jason and JR Freed Construction. They are an honest, hard working group that will do a great job for you!!!

Did great, always there on time, worked on SAturday to speed up the process, excellent from start to finish. We could not have been pleased any better.

I called 3 contractors and only jason seemed to know what was really required. he drew 3 possibilities and sent them by email with a firm price for each option within 3 days of his visit. Once i decided on a design he scheduled a date within my timetable; a week before he was supposed to start he called to say he could start earlier if it was ok with me. It was, and his crew built the beautiful deck in a week. He encountered some problems (lack of footers where he expected them) but did all the work (to code although that was not needed) for the quoted price. He was pleasant to deal with throughout. One thing...I wanted to pay by credit card (to get airline miles) and he didn't have the credit card machine with him when he came to get the final payment. so if you want to pay by credit card tell him beforehand. Great job. I have already recommended him to others.

I recently had Jason and his crew put a deck on my house. After getting estimates from several other contractors, I really felt that Jason meant what he said and that I was going to get a nice deck that would last a long time. This was the best decision that I have made in years. Jason came out and looked over my space, and a few days later he sent over some pretty cool designs. After about a week or so of input and discussion, he came back with a design that knocked our socks off. It was during this process that you could really see his talent and passion for building decks, as his design was far and away above anyone else's. He really worked with us to come up with a design that we were going to be happy with while making sure it was going to be functional. One thing I wish to note was Jason's insistence that everything be done right and being perfect. Since I originally intended to do the project myself, I had a good idea of what I was going to do and what I cared about and what I didn't. I am especially bad because I know just enough to be dangerous. Jason took the time to talk through things with me and explain why he suggested what he did. Of particular note was adding the exterior door; we have an existing transom window above where the door was supposed to go, but the way the studs were laid out the window would have to be moved. At the time, I didn't think the added cost was really worth the 1" or 2" the window was going to be off. But Jason cared enough to really push back with me to make sure it was perfect. I am glad he did, as once the door was in, I realized how bad it would have looked being 2" out of whack. Work commenced quickly and actually a couple of days ahead of schedule. Throughout the process, the crew from JRFreed Construction were amazing. They were very prompt, friendly, and professional, taking time each morning to talk with me about what to expect each day. Jason stopped by several times during the two week period to check in and see how things were going, and his brother Mike was there every day running the crew. Every day astounding progress was made, and the guys took great care in cleaning up every day and keeping everything as neat and tidy as a construction site can be. The results are positively AMAZING and are way better than I imagined they would be. I knew I was going to get a nice deck, but their work surpassed my expectations by a LOT. They added several nice touches that I had no idea they were going to add, and really took our request to surprise us with gusto (We asked Jason to surprise us; we specified only a basic shape of the deck and the color of the decking, they did all the rest). Another thing that impressed me was the attention to detail; all the lines are straight as an arrow. The angled cuts (and we had quite a few of them) are perfect with no gaps. The joints of the fascia are capped off nicely. They completely enclosed the area under the bumpout for the outdoor kitchen area. Nothing jiggles or rattles. I could go on and on. I am 100% honest in saying that deck that Jason and his crew built is the nicest deck that I have ever seen, and I cannot believe that it is actually attached to my house.

They were professional and he went that extra level for us. I loved everything. They were very professional and were out here everyday and they were on time. You could tell they loved what they do. They looked out for every detail and I didn't have to worry about anything. If he said he was going to do something he did it. He looked out for every little detail and made sure that it was all done. He was on top of it all. We will definitely use them again in the future.
