I am not sure why this is showing up under the kitchen bathroom category--we contacted Garvin Metal Roofs, and that is who this review is about--not sure if it is the same company. The salesman showed up to the appointment unprepared. Instead of telling us about his company and why they were superior he immediately began bashing all the competitors telling us no matter what they offer us, he could beat it, including a 40 year warranty (I have significant doubts this company will be around in 10 years, let alone 40). Every other roofer was able to leave us with a quote, as he was unprepared this salesman could not, (even though he told us when dealing with contractors be sure to get everything in writing) but he promised to get one over to us first thing in the morning as we made it clear to him we wanted to make a decision quickly. When I hadn't heard anything by noon the following day I called the company and left a message with the secretary. A few minutes later my salesman called up and was making excuses for the delay. He said he would have something for me by 3pm. When I hadn't heard from them by 4pm, I called again, at this point I knew I wasn't ging to utlize their services, if they couldnt be relied upon to give me a quote how could I rely on them to replace my roof in a timely fashion, if at all? When I called the phone was answered by someone who sounded like they had been sleeping with a simple "hello", not a "Hello, Garvin Construction", just "hello?" When the man on the other line realized I was a customer he straightend up quickly and said oh you havent heard from your salesman? I'll reach out to him now. Of course the salesman called back minutes later and gave me a price, kept saying they were the best deal around and they'd match anyone, when I asked him for a written quote he refused, he told me he was being very nice to me and didn't understand why I was angry. I said I am simply following your advice, "get everything in writing" and while the sales technique of continuously bashing competitors may work for some people, it didn't work for me. He said he could get the office to put something on letter head and send it to me the following morning. I conceded and said once we received the quote I would review with my husband and get back to him, but we were unlikely to go with them because I was very upset with their lack of communication up to this point. Of course the quote never came, so around noon I called and told the secretary that we would not be moving forward with their services, but thank you for their time. 5 minutes later i got a text from the salesman dropping the price by 2 thousand dollars and a guarantee to match any price and warranty. I wrote back and said thanks, but we got a better price and better service from someone else (the other 2 companies we worked with were fantastic) to which he responded well if you change your mind we will beat it, no matter what. Um, no thanks. In my opinion this company is shady and is trying to save money by using office people and salesmen with little to no experience in dealing with customers.

Description of Work: took months to finish job,their punctuality was horrible and workmanship sloppy they are located now in Wilkes Barre area and i just received a letter stating they are being sold and my roof warranty went from 40 yr to 10 yr Don't use them
