+ -1 moreThe technician, Ralph, was very professional and friendly. He was there on time and called to tell me the thermostat was shot. They charge $89 for the service call and the diagnosis which I found to be typical. Ralph called to tell me the total cost of installing a new thermostat with service and diagnostic would be $492.68 I almost fell over. I am very knowledgeable about what it takes to perform this task as I have done it myself. There are 2 wires to connect and then you attach the thermostat to the wall. Unfortunately, I was not able to complete this job myself and the temperature outside was 10 degrees. After expressing my shock and disbelief about the price I thanked Ralph for his professionalism and told him to go ahead with the installation but I was not happy at all about the price the company charges for this particular service. I consider this an emergent situation and could not allow my tenant to go one more moment without heat. That is the only reason I went ahead with this. I will not call them again. Their pricing is outrageously high!
Description of Work: The provider answered my call to diagnose the heating unit at my rental property. My tenant called and didn't have heat.

+ -1 moreWent very well. The tech explained what he'd done and why the furnace needed a specific valve. He told us what the valve would cost installed, and with our approval ordered it and installed it a few days later.
Description of Work: Our home has two geothermal units to provide heating and air conditioning. We have had bad experiences in the past when HVAC companies that claimed to know geothermal units turned out to be frauds, and even reporting them to Angie got us nowhere. Comfort-Pro, on the other hand, sent a technician who clearly knew the equipment, did the appropriate services to maintain it, and diagnosed and repaired a defective valve. The units are now performing as new, and we have signed up for regular maintenance service from Comfort Pro.

Description of Work: Heat was not working and comfort pro said it was the igniter. Installed a new one and charged $375, later that night we heard noises sounding like a truck backfiring and realized it was our furnace. Now we have to call them to come out and fix it again.

+ -1 moreThey came up with needed repairs of $2400. I got a second opinion who said that the unit was operating fine. (ComfortPro did the check in 45 degree weather.) The second opinion said it should never be done below 60 degrees ... you won't get accurate readings below that. ComfortPro said that I had a 2-speed fan but only one speed was working. The second opinion explained that I did have a 2-speed fan ... one for heating and one for AC. ComfortPro was either totally inept or they were scamming me. M & M Mechanical in Fleetwood PA was the second opinion (without knowing they were a second opinion). They will get all my future business.

Description of Work: I signed up for a service contract or PACT agreement which covers yearly maintenance of both my A/C unit and gas heater. The plan offers many advantages such as no charge for service calls and a 10% discount on any repair service that you may need throughout the year. The service man performed a very thorough examination of my air conditioning unit. He changed the filter, checked air flow, along with 15 other check points to keep my unit running properly. It entails much more than just changing the filter! It was definitely money well spent to keep everything in working order. I will schedule an appointment in 6 months to have my gas heater serviced and ready for the winter.

I was reluctant at first since this company at this address wasn't posted on Angie's list, but further investigation revealed that they were highly rated by the Better Business Bureau. So I took a chance. I'm glad I did. Talking with the office staff they handled themselves in a businesslike manner. The quotes arrived promptly. Once signed and returned with the 1/3 deposit, they called and made an appointment within a day or two. As it turned out, the installer arrived a few minutes early, and went right to work. The workmanship was clean and professional. The work area was clean when the mechanic left and the two units installed work well. A very pleasant experience.
