I never purchased.
Description of Work: All I wanted was samples 1 or 2. I was astonished that they charge $15 per sample. I would be credited upon purchase. However, I can't see their wood and the Brazilian Walnut is not walnut. I was very interested until this and I just moved on.

Description of Work: They sent me clear, solid Brazilian cherry planks for installation in my house. They were not pre-finished and they did not install it. The material was satisfactory and lower priced than elsewhere.

Brazilian Direct Ltd Hardwood Flooring We have been a marginally successful test for Angies list after being on of the largest importers of exotic hardwood flooring (7 species) from Brazil in Prefinished, Unfinished and Engineered flooring format and We do Not do installations. The overall message has been very confusing to Angie's customers & employees as we are 100% ecommerce get 1000 hits per day bid 50 jobs per day nationally and try to drive customers to the web for detailed information with over 1250 pages of data. All our phones go to answering services and we get a email copy IF a message is left and/or recorded. Nothing in our records show any messages from, any Atlanta area code. Since we do not do installations. if we did not call back it was because we rely on email 90% of the time to handle the current volume. After 12 3/4 years of selling Mill/Factory Direct In stock Quick ship in all 48 states we have become an order processing center for the industry. Description of Work: They delivered and unloaded wood. When there was a problem with one of the pieces, they replaced it quickly at no cost. They left the railing that was too short with us. Service provided about 2007.

They actually sell hardwood and Brazilian Cherry Wood, which was what I was looking for. They were very knowledgeable. I spoke with them via email and phone. They also have a very detailed website with anything that you would want to know about hardwood they have on there. They can send you hardwood and hardwood samples. Their hardwood is very good quality, but I have not purchased from them yet.

I started installing hardwood floors in HS & College and got my BS in Business Administration from Kutztown University in PA. My 1st job was with Minwax as the East Coast Sales Manager for the Dura Seal division. I spent my 1st 20 years in Wholesale Distribution selling commercial floor finishing systems to installers. Minwax featured Oil stain, polyurethane and sports floor systems in the 80's and then Basic Coating (Street Shoe-Water based technology) in the 90's. The last 13 years I have been importing from Brazil. I have been an active member of the NWFA National Wood Flooring association for 28 years. I have been an educator for the hardwood flooring industry and was involved in trouble shooting all complaints within the industry. The last 11 years I have owned Brazilian Direct. We have sold over $30 million in tropical exotic hardwood flooring nationally & internationally with over 7,000 happy customers. I am an honest, ethical businessman with an impeccable industry reputation and track record. We have been pleased with their online service and possibly we will use them when we do the kitchen. I had send in a rendering of the fore plan of the kitchen space and they are very quick to recommend what type of wood they would use especially since I send them pictures of house. Their quote was for $4000. Their promptness, their expert ease and their willingness to work with the customer is outstanding. Their web site is very knowledgeable, gives a lot information and good pictures. One can make an informed decision just from their website. We will use this provider in the future.
Description of Work: We received an estimate from Brazilian Direct three weeks ago to supply hardwood floor for my kitchen and pantry. This does not include installation.

The owner, Dan, and Nicole were wonderful and very helpful. The pricing was extremely reasonable compared to others we priced out and the product is gorgeous. We do not have the wood actually installed as of yet because we are in the process of redoing our kitchen. The only issue we had was the offload policy. Since Brazilian Direct is a wholesaler we were responsible for offloading the wood ourselves and had to be done in one hour. We had 68 boxes each weighing approximately 100 lbs. Because of the weight concerns, we had scheduled delivery so that we could have our installer available to do the offload and move it into our house. Due to a miscommunication the wood was delivered two weeks early. Nicole worked with us to find an appropriate solution since we had not signed with an installer as of then. Because the miscommunication was on their end, they arranged and paid to have movers accept the shipment and then offload the wood into our house. It worked out wonderfully. My one caution to homeowners is that offloading this amount of wood is extremely difficult. We had three young (20s), very strong gentlemen that are home movers by trade. About 2/3 of the way through, one of the gentlemen's arms gave out and he sank to his knees so that he did not drop the box. The men were exhausted by the end and admitted that they had never anticipated how difficult the task would be. If you are doing an entire house or an entire floor, I would recommend scheduling delivery when your installer is available with their workforce to do the offload and move it into your home or to have 2 able men available per 1000 - 1500 lbs of wood. It also took them 2 hours to move all of that wood.
Description of Work: We ordered and had delivered approximately 1600 sq ft of Brazilian Cherry wide plank and wood vents (some custom).

We had been having trouble finding this material from an FSC source, but this company understood exactly what we were asking for and were able to supply the product from sustainable sources with various levels of supporting paperwork. They arranged for shipping and the wood arrived in good condition and on time. No complaints!
