Gargiulo Landscape

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The primary goal was to block exterior lights to facilitate star gazing, with general privacy being the secondary goal. Jen was immediately attuned to my goals, as well as aesthetic -- naturalized, with native plants as much as possible. They planted 6 trees and 13 shrubs in a large bed, including some rocks. Everything was done with great attention to detail, both technically and aesthetically.

We got an estimate for new patio. Originally we were thinking stamped concrete, but then Lou recommended possibly pavers, telling us the price may be about the same, or even lower! We were excited, but then hearing from him was almost nonexistent. We asked if the proposal could be provided in the next 2-3 days, as we had several offers and wanted to get things scheduled quickly. He said absolutely. After almost 2 weeks, I still hadn't hear anything, and I had texted and called at least 5 times. I finally called and got a hold of them, and he did quickly send a response to my email, but the estimate included only stamped concrete. By this time, we were actually leaning toward pavers, and needed the other estimate. Same thing--I texted, emailed and called probably another 5-6 times and heard nothing. I finally called him again, he said he was working on the other estimate and would send it. Another week passed and no estimate. We are going to go with another contractor.

Sent two employees to plant the tree. Overall they were fine and did a good job, but when I tried to get him to plant 2 more trees he never communicated. When he responds it goes well, otherwise no one calls with details. Quoted a previous job and was very high. Still trying to get someone to plant the trees. Too frustrating to deal with these kind of people. He doesn't do any work, just sends others. Would rather deal directly with the person who does the actual job.

Project went very smoothly. The team was very nice, polite, and professional. Joe the owner was very responsive and addressed all questions and concerns quickly. The fireplace is the center piece of the backyard and everyone who comes to our homes notices it and loves it. I had several add-ons as the project progressed and all were met. The project turned out exactly as we wanted.

Although we ended up going with another contractor, we were extremely impressed with the design and paver knowledge of Joe G. He was always open to suggestions and flexible during the entire bidding process. I have heard nothing but positive feedback from both consumers as well as the owners of landscaping material stores on the quality and craftsmanship of Joe and his crew. We will certainly recommend Joe to both neighbors and friends alike, as he is clearly one of the best in his field around this area.

Provider was prompt, friendly and professional in the scheduled visit, and in the visit he provided some input and ideas. However, all we received after the visit was a estimated quote for landscaping services. The quote was beyond our budget, and we did not receive a "drawing" or plan or followup advice. We did not followup with the company. Many landscaping companies will provide the same quote for free, so in this case instead of "saving" us money, The Angie's List coupon cost us extra. Lesson Learned.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal. I didn't get too much more about the plan detail. They were definitely very expensive. He was supposed to send me something else and he did not. They stopped by to evaluate my yard soon after but the estimate took forever. In fact I went to a couple of other people before they even responded. It took a long time for them to get back to me. The response time was pretty bad.

Scheduled appointment...contractor came out and reviewed situation....promised detailed computer generated designs. Well over one month passed and finally I received email apologizing for delay...received cost estimate...but no designs as outlined in offer. There was no "complete design" as outlined in offer. In meantime, I made alternate arrangements. Requesting full refund.

I purchased an Angie's List Deal, and consulted with the contractor. We had a good discussion on some different design options for both the front and back yards. He committed to get some designs back to me, but after several attempts over a month to get the designs, he never delivered. I requested a refund from Angie's List.

I'm still waiting to make an appointment.

Bought a "big deal" for a $49 landscaping plan. The provider emailed me via Angie's list and offered a possible date. The day of the week did not match the day of the month he suggested so I wrote back to confirm. Never heard back. I then called the provider at the phone number listed. I got a hold of him but it was a bad connection and I couldn't hear what he was saying. I told him I would call him right back to try to get a better connection. He did not pick up. I subsequently called him on 3 other occasions and left him a voice mail. I have not heard back from him. Finally I sent him another message on Angie's list which he has not responded to. Doesn't respond to communications, I had to sit on hold while requesting a refund from Angie's list so that irritated me enough to leave this negative review.

Met with Mr. Garguilo on Thursday May 15th.

I'm pretty pleased with him. He's really great. He gave me a price that I'm sure is really great. He's professional. The report is great. He kind of distinctively knows what he's trying to do.

They did a great job and we could not believe how fast they completed our project. The work was well done and the guys were patient with making the design look perfect. We were extremely impressed with the entire team. The price was fair given the great attention to detail the team paid. It is high quality work and I will recommend them to anyone who asks about our beautiful new patio and firepit.

Joe and his crew did a wonderful job executing our vision for an outdoor fireplace. Each stone was artistically placed and the construction is top notch. It is absolutely beautiful. Joe also did a little additional work in preparation for the next step in our project. I would highly recommend Gargiulo Landscape.

A barn stone retaining wall in our yard, installed 7 years ago, was sagging in a long stretch. It appeared to be a problem of inadequate drainage control on the uphill side. After notifying us in advance, the owner, Joe Gargiulo staged a small backhoe in our yard, something we never thought possible due to garage, trees, hedge. They brought the machine down to the wall using heavy rubber pads to protect a stone walkway. They excavated a trench behind the wall, setting the back dirt aside. It was determined that the original contractor had not put much gravel under and around the perforated drain pipe. The next task was to remove all the large stones, down to the base course, and re-set them back slightly into the hill. Workers in the back of a small dump truck parked on the street and across from a 5-foot wide hedge, shoveled coarse gravel over the hedge and into the backhoe bucket. At least 24 to 30 inches of gravel filled the trench to provide the necessary drainage situation when they finished. The trench then was backfilled to bring the grade to the top of the stones, which had not been the case previously, hoping that more run-off will go over the wall. Everything was cleaned up to satisfaction and the machine removed without incident. The total time for the work was less than five hours, a project that would have taken days manually. It wasn't until about two weeks later that Joe Gargiulo came to our door with the invoice. The amount was less than the proposed amount. He said it went faster than he thought so he shared that with us. I have never had this experience! Everyone on the crew was pleasant, answered questions or explained activities. When Joe brought the invoice at the end of the day, he was relaxed, came into the kitchen and we talked for over 40 minutes. Pleasant, friendly, well-presented young man.

It's just a gorgeous and nice work. I would recommend him over and over. He came on time. He cleaned up perfectly. I couldn't ask for a better worker. They were very prompt and professional.

From estimate to completion the job was handled professionally.

They are awesome. The landscaping turned out beautifully. They are easy to work with. They are very reasonable priced. They are creative and the end product turn out excellent. Joe, the owner, is great.

They were really very good. They do very god job. They were very professional. My husband will call them for another work which we are planning. I would use them in the future.
