I had a major remodel done in 2010. The contractor, who I will leave another review for, hired a very bad excavator for some work. After all the work was done I had major water coming into my basement with all the rain we had. MJ had done a good deal of the work on the remodel that was excellent so I don't know why the contractor had this unknown person come in to do other work. Tired of sucking water out of my basement for literally the 5th time in 2013 I tracked down MJ, had him come out. He is so honest he said I should call the person who messed up the property in the first place and ask him to fix it - why should I be paying paying MJ to do work that should have been done correctly the first time? Well since the first person I unfortunately don't know the name of I would not have back to dig a hole to plant a tree let alone regrade the mess he left, and boy is this sentence terrible, I told MJ just let me know what had to be done. Just a little back story I have always had at least a trickle of water into the basement since I bought the property in 2007, but it was more of a nuisance than a flood. Once the moron who completely messed up the south side of my house was done the trickle became a flood, literally - I watched as water flooded into my basement through the window well. That's when I knew I had to track down MJ who had done most of the major excavating in the remodel - thank god. He came out, regraded, put 2 downspouts underground and I have not had a single drop of water come into my basement since - despite the horrible winter, the torrential rains, the horrible clay ground. MJ is honest, timely, reasonable priced. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I have a driveway that needs to be redone, tree work. He is an amazing worker. And I would not hesitate to hire him again and recommend him to anyone who needs excavating, tree work, almost anything that involves outside work.
