We signed a contract in June with an expected start date of September. The job began in mid October after several phone texts. In one day, the pool was removed and we waited until 11/14 for the dirt to arrive and the grading to start. We basically had an enormous hole in the ground for 1 month. By the time the grading was done it is now too cold for any grass to grow. The landscaper worked alone which caused the job to take even longer. Finally, my husband spent 4 hours helping the landscaper finish! Overall, this was an unpleasant experience. The company lacks good communication, keeping their promises. Mark wanted 2/3’s of the payment before anything was started. Total cost 9600.00. The morning after the job was done an email was sent insisting that we pay that day electronically . I emailed that I was not comfortable and he was at my house in 1 hour to collect. The fill dirt for the hole was full of debris and stones. The landscaper did a poor job of raking the dirt and was done with a garden rake not any equipment. Overall sub par. The fill dirt was placed on our driveway and the landscaper used a back hoe to gather the dirt which left our driveway destroyed with divers, ruts, holes. We now need to replace our driveway even though I has requested the driveway have boards placed to protect it. I was told that it would be fine. Mark said that any damage is not his fault. This company is very shady. He comes off friendly. Please beware and look elsewhere. By the way, I tried contacting Angie’s list by phone to complain but there is no phone number.

Mark insisted on full payment before all segments of job were completed. Don't be fooled by all the pseudo friendship. That's just so you pay him before the job is done even though you are reluctant. Mark won't leave without the check. Very intimidating. Other reviews describe this also. The job started many months later than promised and they demolished the pool. They left a hideous mountain of earth for 6 months and came back to do the grading in the summer. A relatively new employee did this and the land was not graded properly so that a significant amount of rain water flows towards my house and deck instead of down to a creek. This was readily apparent with the first rains and because it was too swampy for the grass he planted to grow in that area. I contacted Mark and he never took care of the situation, though he had originally promised that if there was a problem with the grading he would take care of it. They have never returned my numerous calls or emails about this. They said they once stopped by without arranging with me ahead of time. (I did not have to be home for someone to see the problem.) I had the township come out and they confirmed the grading was not correct. Unfortunately my township does not require an inspection of the grading as they do of the pool demolition. It will probably cost me at least a $1000 to have additional truckload of earth brought in and proper grading. Grading is a very significant part of a pool demolition. Also, their contract does not hold them responsible for any damage to your property. While the bulldozer he used was not that huge and did no harm, a very large truck was used to bring in earth and that did damage beds and a tree, just missed the house. This could have been avoided with a smaller truck. The truck also ruined parts of front lawn -ground was wet, not ideal time for huge truckload. He also left a bulldozer on my front lawn for two weeks after the demolition was completed, killing lawn underneath, requiring reseeding. It has been at least two years and they have not responded to calls or emails with photos of the grading problem. The township can show Mark how the grading is off though it is obvious to anyone .
Description of Work: This was a pool demolition for $9500.

After we hired Marc to do our pool demolition, I saw the reviews on here and became worried about how our job would go. I expressed my concerns to Jeanette and she assured us that the job would be completed to our satisfaction. It has since been finished and turned out much better than I had anticipated. While the actual demolition was loud, it was completed quickly and did not disrupt our normal routine at all. I was concerned about the straw being on top of the grass seed after it had been laid but we didn't have any issues with it. The grass has started to grow and it looks fantastic. I would recommend them for another pool demolition.

I have experienced issues with this company from the beginning. We contracted them March 9, 2015 to remove an in ground pool and install a driveway. They projected an early May start date. Work did not begin until May 19th. Communication was initiated by myself during the time they should have started and the actual start date. By the end of the day on May 19th, we had paid 2/3 of cost of the project. They did not return until the end of June, again with lack of communication. July 2nd rocks were laid in the spot the driveway was to be. I texted Marc to ask if this was the layout because it did not seem right to me. He advised me it would be "fine tuned" before the blacktop was laid. July 7th the project was finally finished. I was the one handling the project and was away on business. Marc asked when he could pick up the check. I advised that I did not feel comfortable paying the final installment until I inspected the work. He threatened me with breach of contract and exorbitant late fees. My husband was home, so I asked him to take pictures and send them to me. He did and the work displayed was not satisfactory. I texted Marc and told him that the driveway did not look like a smooth surface in the pictures and I was concerned that when it rains, water would puddle and not run off. He responded, " I ran lots off water on it, it is fine. U.S. 422 is not completely smooth, and they spend millions of dollars on it. I was personally on site. What time can I stop by for a check tonight?" My husband did pay the final payment for fear that we would be in some kind of legal trouble if not. The issue is that the driveway is lumpy with dips and water runs towards my house instead of the ally due to the proper levels not being established. I contacted my township who advised that Marc never called for a final inspection. I advised Marc of this and that I was going to schedule one. He called and set it up himself without communicating with me. I followed up on my own and scheduled an inspection also, the next day. The inspector affirmed my assessment that the work was not done properly and in fact would pose a hazard in the winter when the water froze. He said he told this to Marc too who maintained that his work was done properly. I have not been in communication with the company at all since before the inspection.

I would never refer them to someone. They pulled the pool out. I never met such a rude person in my life. The grading is deplorable. It doesn't even look like he tried. He came out yesterday when it was two days of rain and it was just muddy puddles out there and he finished it. He seeded it and buried it in eight inches of straw, so you can't even seen exactly what you're left with. I was upset because I wanted to see it and he told me I should have been here. The lady had emailed and said the inspector was coming about 1:00, so I can home at 12:30 and he was finished. He didn't even try to make it finished in a reasonable fashion, that it's something I can even live with. He asked me if I read the contract, it says he's not a landscaper and if I wanted a golf course lawn, I should have hired a landscaper. But I expected it to be graded to be reasonable. If he had not come on a muddy day and driven over it until everything was compacted, it would have been smoother than what we have out there now. He was so rude to me. I said I did read my contract and that it said it would be done to the customer's satisfaction and he didn't even let me see it. Today, I'm going to have someone else come and fix the lawn. If all he wanted to do was pull out the pool, then that's all he should have done. The grading was deplorable. They just bury it in straw. He's in and out so fast. It turned nasty immediately. He said if I didn't pay him, he was going to charge me $100 a day and that his sister is an attorney. I already paid him a total of $4,900 and the balance was $2,200 and he's threatening me with legal action if I don't pay him before he leaves. He didn't care what I wanted or if I was satisfied with it. He didn't make an appointment with me before he covered it up with straw to see if this was how I wanted it finished or what I expected or anything. Then he said he'd give me some cash back if I referred people to him, but I wouldn't do that to anyone I know. He said he was honest in his contract but I don't feel he was.

Description of Work: I think the work they did was very good and I was pleased with the price. My only negative feedback is that the demolition was supposed to take place in the summer and the actual start of the work didn't take place until September after several delays. I would have appreciated a more realistic start date and more updates throughout the project. Other than that, the crew was extremely polite and thorough and conscientious. I would recommend them to others.
