Zingrone Landscaping

We met wtih Mr. Zingrone, came up with a plan for landscaping the back and front yards. He called with one bid which we said was higher than we wanted to spend. Asked him to come up with a new bid with less plants which he said he would. Then NOTHING! He never called back nor responded to our phone calls.

Zingrone landscaping was 1 of 3 estimates I received for landcape work at my new home. It was quite a large job... complete revamping of all begs, two hillsides bordering streets to be completely redone for minimal maintenance (rocks, ground covers, etc), 2 trees trimmed, an evergreen cut down and replaced and a french drain installed in back yard. Mr Zingrone was my favorite landscaper in terms of plant knowledge - I enjoyed speaking with him and getting advice. He was very courteous, but he also missed each deadline he gave to us, from the first meeting to the estimate. I spent too much time calling him to find out what was going on. The last time I talked to him some months ago, he was going to add concrete work to his estimate and get back to us and I haven't heard from him and my project is almost complete. His french drain plan would have cost us too much time and money as well. The landscaper that we did choose was able to find (quite quickly) that they drainage box in the yard had an overflow pipe attached to the downspout (i'm still in an area where that is okay) and that the french drain could be routed to it with little trouble - no heavy machinery necessary like Mr. Zingrone indicated he would use.

Because of my summer travel schedule it took some time to arrange for the work to be done. Joe visited the site many times to make sure everything was as he believed. This was an end unit townhouse with restricted space to maneuver because of the close proximity of neighbors. Once work began, the crew was efficient and professional. This kind of work does cause some disruption of every day activity but it was the best I have ever experienced when having work done on my home. They kept the schedule as arranged and at the end of the day, the only thing I had to do after they left was clean the storm door. Later on we will need to plant some grass. Other than those things, it is perfect and I couldn't be mroe pleased.

We got 3 bids -- Joe Zingrone was easily the most caring, knowledgeable and detail oriented. His original plan and estimate was a little more than we had planned to spend -- but he easily worked with us to reduce the bells and whistles, and came in with an agreeable price. The job took one day for the tree trimmers and only one day for the landscaping. The work ethic and finished results were fantastic! They did a TERRIFIC job -- far more than we expected, especially for the reduced price. We had no idea out how GREAT the front yard could look! Complete clean up, the ENITRE hard working crew was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Joe arrived that evening and gave thorough and detailed plant instructions. However, several days later, two of the plants were wilting despite our care. We phoned to question about the plants -- and Joe showed up the very next day, dug up the two plants, noted the root ball had not absorbed water like it should, spent about 15 minutes with a water hose resusitating each one, then replanted. It wasn't 20 minutes later that both plants perked back up. Having never hired a professional landscaper before, we were more than pleased with the workmanship, helpful advice and finished product, and will not hesitate to call Zingrone Landscaping next year when we do the back yard.

Zingrone came to see the job, but never submitted estimate as he said he would. Did not respond to follow-up phone call inquiring about when to expect bid.

Mr. Zingrone showed up approximately two months ago to look what I wanted done. We talked, he took pictures and said he would get back to me in 10 days. After a follow up phone call by me and two months later I have not heard from him. Not even to say he wasn't interested in the job. I would not recommend him.

They did it perfect. The cleaned up their entire mess they made. They were very knowledgeable. They were very, very good. They knew exactly what they were doing.

He was unperturbed by the extra effort this took. Ron and Matt worked diligently in the heat after the holiday and even during a Sat., June 2nd, when work would normally not be performed, they put in nearly 12 hours to complete the job. They were polite and professional during the whole process. The planter is absolutely beautiful and it was done at a price nearly $2000 less than the other quote I received. Joe stopped by at the end of the day to make sure everything looked okay and even gave me some ideas as to what types of plants I could put in the planter. I would definitely have Zingrone Landscaping do work for us again!

I called several landscapers listed with Angie's List, at least 15. Joe Zingrone was the only one that returned my call promptly. He was available on the up-coming weekend, to come to look over the property, and he did. He was friendly, out-going and professional, and in discussion his knowledge of plant materials and their biology impressed me right away. I had an estimate, within 2 days. Still, no one else has called back. Most important, I was in a hurry to clean up the property. Joe re-arranged his schedule, with other clients to help me out. His crew got started in 2 weeks, and although they did not work continuously at the property (rain), they were complete within 8 or 9 days. In that time, 2 or 3 other landscapers did return my calls! I found Joe's crew's work to be very good, and his willingness to be flexible with his schedule unbelievable, and his price fair.

They did the job superbly. They are excellent! Mark and the other guy are very skilled, worked beautifully, and are thorough. I was very happy with the work they did!

Their initial response and visit to the house was prompt. A week later they also called me while I was on vacation to tell me my estimate would be ready when I got home. They never called again, nor did they return any of the several calls I made upon my return inquiring about when I might see an estimate.

Mr. Zingrone returned our call promptly. He came out to our home and seemed very knowledgeable and professional. The work was completed in about a week and his crew did a satisfactory job. We would use him again.

Mr. Zingrone was an hour late for the estimate but enthusiastic. There was a degree of immediacy for the work, and I was told it would take less than a week to receive the estimate. Over the course of a MONTH I was told on at least three occasions that my estimate was being typed up and that I would receive it the next day. I never received a typed estimate, only a phone call. My phone calls were rarely returned. By the time Mr. Zingrone finally got back to me, I had already set something up. I do construction and landscaping estimating for a living, and it took me ten minutes to do what it took Mr. Zingrone a month to do. There was a distinct lack of professionalism with all of this. I would rather have been told that he was busy as opposed to some story about a typing an estimate.

Mr. Zingrone was excellent to work with! My home is new construction and had very sparse landscaping that was in need of improvement. My husband and I enjoy working in our yard and wanted only a design so that we could do all of the planting ourselves. Mr. Zingrone spent a great deal of time consulting with me and the design he created reflected our meeting. He had some very creative ideas that only a professional could generate. Our plan can be done is phases so that we don't have to do it all at once to look finished. He added to our existing landscaping and used plants that we could easily maintain. With Mr. Zingrone's help, we'll have the nicest landscaping in the neighborhood!

Theresa & Joe Zingrone both were very good to deal with & responsive when I left messages. They agreed to fit me into their schedule on short notice, even when they weren't sure if I would be a customer for the whole season (which I now am). Work was done very well.

Overall, the work looks good. Mr. Zingrone had told me that he would be here personally to oversee the work. Two young men came without Mr. Zingrone to add soil and lay grass seed after I had new concrete work. At first, they had dirt in the back of the truck and began using wheel barrows to move the dirt to the yard. I went upstairs, and then they backed the two ton truck into my brand new driveway to distribute the dirt. The driveway had been poured 10 days prior, so I was very upset and worried that they may have damaged the concrete with that big truck. The young men said they were not aware that it was a new driveway, and I had told Mr. Zingrone of my concerns prior to the work. I don't feel they should have put the truck in my driveway without checking first.

He explained that he was out of town, and explained that he didn?t do the lawn mowing service in our area (only the landscaping). He seemed genuinely sorry that he couldn?t come out and do the work. I would hire him again for some other jobs in the future that we may need done. He also apologized that he could not refer me to anyone else who could do the work.

Joe showed up to review the job on time and stayed in contact with me while we were settling the contract. I'd wish he let me know when they were coming. But, the workmen showed up and completed the job in 2 days - as contracted. I was pleased with the work and clean up. Plus, it seems the job was completed just in time for warmer weather.

Very nice. When I contacted them initially, I was very impressed with him. He got back with me right away. He told us exactly how many days it would take and what would be involved. They started work even earlier than they thought. They worked really hard every day.

THEY HAD TO CANCEL THEIR APPOINTMENT, BUT THEY CALLED AHEAD OF TIME TO LET ME KNOW AND TO TRY TO RESCHEDULE. I'D ALREADY DECIDED NOT TO HAVE THE WORK DONE BECAUSE ESTIMATES I'D ALREADY RECEIVED WERE WELL OUTSIDE MY BUDGET, SO WE DIDN'T RESCHEDULE.
