Description of Work: Joe walked around the property with me pointing out the issues, he explained what needed to be done to correct the problems. There are lots of problems. He said he would work up a price estimate that day, however it was more like 3 weeks before he sent it. The total was close to twenty thousand dollars. The house is probably going to be sold within 5 years, so we were disinclined to sink that much money into yard work.

I met with the customer on September 3rd and sent an email quote on September 13th. The work was quite diverse as there were five different parts to it. I never told the customer that I would get them a proposal out on the day that I met them for such a diverse and fairly large job. Which consisted of installing a new retaining wall, restoration of a front porch, installing a swell along the rear of the property to prevent water flooding the from the neighbors, installing french drains and surface drains, and also removal of a 50 foot tall flagpole. I sent a very detailed and itemized proposal. I actually met with the sister who lived there and added more items to the estimate and was hoping her sister would address them all. I showed up on time and I got the proposal out in less than 2 weeks which I told them. Never said later that day. Like I said it was a very detailed proposal that took me significant time to sit down, think it through properly and come up with a cost. I can't help it that it's an expensive job. I did what was asked of me. Thank you have a great day

Description of Work: Rebuilt small 3 ft high x 8 ft retainer wall, planted 10 plants, 5 of which were small. Did no discernable installation of weed-block sheeting under installed larger rock cover stone,(now have weeds growing between the stones). All plants are of high quality and were properly installed. Primary comment is cost. Same contractor bid on my small-lawn care work this last June and came in significantly higher than other 3 bidders.

Hello sir. We never came out to your property this year June 2015. I think you have me confused with someone else maybe. Your dates are not correct. I remember your job well. I even looked up the proposals prior to writing this. On 9-24 -2012 we completed the job which consisted of the retaining wall work, Planting small shrubs and medium to large (10 ft tall maple), removing shrubs as well as other items but not to install landscape fabric to the existing beds but only to weed them. On 4-24-14 I gave you a proposal for redoing your river rock beds. Which consisted of lifting up and setting aside existing river rock, installing new landscape fabric, reinstalling river rock and supplementing with new river rock where necessary for $1205.00 but you did not accept the proposal and we never performed that work. When we finished the job in 2012 for you, you were very satisfied with the work I remember . That must be someone else who did work for you in 2014 and someone else who came to your property this past June 2015. We may be higher priced then some of our competitors but I know we offer a quality product. 4 time Super Service Award winner Zingrone Landscapes & Construction est. 1993

Rebuilt a 7ft section of fallen retaining wall...removed weeds and covered the remainder of slope with fabric...plant three blue rug junipers...and install seashore river rock. | |Item 2) At and along the foundation in front of the home...removed all existing plants and had six Hostas and three PJM Rhododendrons... Instal fabric and add seashore river rock. | |Item 3) Left side - Front of Home. Repaired small section of masonry block wall... Had old 30ft Arborvortae removed and replaced with (new) 4ft Aborvortae. Removed weeds...installed fabric & added seashore river rock to whole length of flower bed. | |Item 4) Back of home - Rebuilt section of Retaining Wall - running 20ft along driveway. | |I was very please with their work. Owner knew exactly what I wanted (any very low maintenance 'rock gardens' - due to my age). The work crew was very courteous...they cleaned up well (being in a urban setting...homes just 15ft to 20ft apart) they did need to intrude on my neighbors property. |(I can say - I did not get any complaints from my neighbors). I'm very pleased...and I also have Zingrone Landscaping doing my lawn service.

Description of Work: REPAIRED DAMAGE WHERE DRIVER SLED ON PROPERTY. HE RAN OFF THE ROAD WHEN THE ROAD WAS ICY. CALLED ZINGRONE LANDSCAPING AND CONSTRUCTION CO TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE.CAME OUT AND REPAIRED THE DAMAGE AND NEVER LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED WITH THE JOB. I Just HAPPENED TO GO DOWN AND SEE IF THE WORK HAD BEEN DOWN. THE DIRT WAS PUT IN THE HOLE AND SEED SPREAD ALL OVER THE GROUND. |I CALLED THE CONTRACTOR AND ASKED HIM ABOUT ALL THE SEED BEING SPREAD ON THE GROUND AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF THAT THEY PUT ENOUGH IN THE GROUND. TOLD THEM ABOUT THE TURKEYS AND BIRDS AND THE WAY IT WAS SPREAD, AND WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. NOTHING WAS EVER DONE AND JUST WHAT I TOLD HIM HAPPENED, THE TURKEYS AND BIRDS ATE THE SEED, TORE UP THE GROUND AND THE GROUND IS STILL BARE. THEN THEY CANT'T EVEN FIND THE ADDRESS TO SEND THE BILL. THEY TELL ME THEY SENT SEVERAL BILLS TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. TRIED TO PAY THEM THE FIRST TIME, THEY SAID NO, AFTER SEVERAL BILLINGS TO SOME ADDRESS AND STILL THEY FINALLY CALLED ME ASKING WHERE I LIVE. THIS IS BY HIS SECRETARY FINALLY THEY GOT THE RIGHT ADDRESS AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE BIRDS AND HIS SECRETARY TELLS ME THAT SHE WILL TELL HIM,AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. THEY HAVE BEEN PAID, WITH SUCH INCOMPETENCE. H*** NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Description of Work: We have their regular grass cutting service. Our grass looks so much better than when when we cut it. They cut it much more often. It's not cheap but worth it. Very neat, nothing I could complain about. Hope to get some of their other landscaping services in the future, we were impressed by their quote and the owner who have it to us.

JOE ZINGRONE CALLED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I LEFT A MESSAGE. HE APOLOGIZED FOR NOT RETURNING MY CALL EARLIER. THE NEXT DAY HE LOOKED AT MY YARD AND LEFT A WRITTEN ESTIMATE IN THE DOOR. THE $800 ESTIMATE WAS FOR REMOVING THE DIRT PILE AND OVER-GROWN WEEDS. THIS PRICE WAS MANY TIMES MORE THAN I WAS EXPECTING, AND HE DID NOT INCLUDE AN ESTIMATE FOR LEAF REMOVAL. HE LEFT A MESSAGE THAT EVENING ASKING WHEN HE COULD START THE JOB. I FELT THAT THE PRICE WAS FAIR AND COMPETITIVE BECAUSE I NEEDED TO BRING A 5 TON DUMP TRUCK (OUR 1 TONS WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO SMALL) AND A BOBCAT TO LOAD THE SOIL AND DEBRIS(CONCRETE, BRICK, BRUSH ETC.)WITH. YOU MUST TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT BY THE TIME THE WHOLE JOB WAS COMPLETED FROM LOADING UP EQUIPMENT AT 7:00 AM AT OUR SHOP, DRIVING TO THE JOB, PERFORMING THE WORK, LOADING EQUIPMENT UP AGAIN DISPOSING OF THE SOIL & OTHER DEBRIS THAT WAS MIXED IN WITH IT AND FINALLY BACK TO THE SHOP WE WOULD HAVE HAD ALMOST AN ENTIRE DAY TIED UP AT THE THE JOB. PLUS GAS AND DUMPING FEES. REGARDING THE LEAF CLEAN UP, I TOLD HER THAT IT WAS NOT PROFITABLE FOR THE COMPANY TO COME OVER FOR THE 20 MINUTES WORTH OF WORK SHE HAD THERE AND THAT SHE SHOULD TRY TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE FOR THAT. IF NOT I WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE HER AT LEAST $35. I AM VERY SORRY THAT I COULD NOT FULLFILL HER REQUESTS, BUT WE ARE IN BUSINESS TO MAKE A PROFIT AND NOT LOSE MONEY. WHILE LANDSCAPING SEEMS TO BE EXPENSIVE, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF LABOR REQUIRED TO DO THE WORK I NEEDED, I BELIEVE I GOT AN EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MY MONEY. JOE GAVE ME THE BENEFIT OF HIS EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE, AND IT WAS REASSURING THAT HE WASN'T SIMPLY TRYING TO MAKE THE CASE FOR AN EXPENSIVE SOLUTION THAT WASN'T NEEDED. I MET WITH MEMBER ON TUESDAY 4-19-05 AT 1:00 PM. DURING MY VISIT, I SPENT APPROX. 2 HOURS INSPECTING A POND APPROX. 30'' X 30''AND WATER FALL APPROX. 7'' HIGH THAT WAS LOSING WATER. THE POND HAD SEVERAL LEAKS AS WELL AS OTHER MECHANICAL PROBLEMS(INADEQUATE PUMP, COLLAPSED SKIMMERS, LEAKING PLUMBING, POORLY CONSTRUCTED BASE TO PREVENT ANY MAJOR SETTLING, ETC). AT THIS POINT IT APPEARED INEVITABLE THAT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WOULD BASICALLY HAVE TO BE REDONE BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER DONE CORRECTLY FROM THE BEGINING. SHE STATED TO ME THAT THERE WERE SOME LEGAL PROBLEMS WITH THE NEIGHBOR BECAUSE OF THE NOISE FROM THE WATERFALL BUT THE ISSUE HAD BEEN RESOLVED AND HER HUSBAND WAS DEAD SET ON HAVING HIS POND. I TOLD HER THAT I WOULD BE BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY WITH MY EXCAVATION FOREMAN TO MAKE SURE THAT WE COULD GET OUR EQUIPMENT IN THE BACK. I ARRIVED THE NEXT DAY WITH MY FOREMAN AND SPENT ANOTHER HOUR THERE. I DID HAVE TO GO OUT OF TOWN, BUT UPON RETURNING I HAD MY SECRETARY TRY TO CONTACT HER BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO REACH HER. I FIGURED SHE HAD CHANGED HER MIND. YES, APPROX 3 WEEKS DID PASS AND FINALLY SHE CALLED US AND ASKED IF I WAS INTERESTED AND I TOLD HER YES WE WERE, BUT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIT HER IN UNTIL LATE SUMMER BECAUSE OVER THE PAST 3 WEEKS SOME LARGE PROJECTS HAD BEEN SCHEDULED.
