Viking Woodworking

We found it difficult to get time with the owner once he received our deposit. During the meeting when we signed the contract, the owner committed to send us a selection of organization customizations available for Viking Cabinets, our kitchen design plans, and the project timeline. After 25 days into the contracted remodel with Viking and multiple follow-up requests, we never received any of these documents. This led us to terminate the contract. We requested the return of our deposit money ($6,000) since no work had been completed. The owner requested a in person meeting at his office to discuss. We met at his office and he explained that he had logged 100 hours of work on our job and told us he would think about what he could do. He committed to calling us in 24 hours with his decision. We did not receive a call or written response. We sent an email and written request via certified mail to return our deposit money. Viking Woodworking failed to respond to any of these requests. We consulted an attorney regarding the contract and deposit money to determine if we had a legal case to get the deposit money returned. After learning more about the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act "HICPA", we found that the Viking Woodworking Contract was not complaint with HICPA contract requirements. We filed a case against Viking Woodworking LLC. and received a judgement in our favor. Viking Woodworking failed to satisfy the judgement in a timely manner and we had to take additional measures to get the judgement satisfied. Overall, our experience with Viking Woodworking was very disappointing and frustrating.

Pete was recommended to me by Maria Wilson, my kitchen designer. I had thought custom cabinets would cost too much. After pricing cabinets at Lowes and Home Depot, two places I knew I would get nice reasonably priced cabinetry, For a few dollars more I was able to get beautiful outstanding cabinets with many custom features. Pete is the nicest person to work with. He gave me tour of his facilities and introduced most of his staff. He will do anything you ask him to do, but will also give you the benefit of his many years of experience. Very professional, very prompt. Can also be the general contractor for a remodel. Will recommend him and also hope use his services again.

They were very good. Pete Schoonmaker is very customer oriented, returns phone calls quickly and is very affable in wanting to do a good job. He is very precise in his skill level and he will stick with the job until you are satisfied.
