They are fine...pluses and minuses. They are very expensive but what they provide is very good and very dependable so you pay for what you get. It is $300 a month. I always think they are very expensive for what you get. They always answer the phone for me and help me when I need it...just takes a while sometimes. And I guess that is my biggest complaint that if I call them every month and say I want a better price, I usually can get one but they never volunteer that. They are very responsive. You call them with an issue or a problem, they get it fixed. I never have to have them here. They are very good.

Generally they're fine. They're better than the rest, but that doesn't mean they're good. I've had them for years. I chose the best of the bunch. Some people are fine. The installers were terrible.

Made me angry. For the next two months instead of getting a bill $82 i was receiving a bill for $122. I complained each month to Verizon directly. Finally I was so angry, I called them and said if I have to find a lawyer to find out what you guys are doing or why I WILL. Then the bill went back to 85 dollars like it should have.
Description of Work: It was supposed to $85.00 in the beginning, when the salesman came to my door. I told him my husband had passed away and you wanted it to be in my name. The technician turned the power back on to the tv and things were wrong. They charged 300/400 dollars for that. I really wanted them to change name on the account.

Verizon's telephone support was the usual pain in the neck. However, once the service man actually came out to fix the problem, he was very professional and responsive. He quickly figured out that wasps had infested the fiber optic switch, removed the wasp nest, and repaired the broken connection.
Description of Work: Responded to service call about problems with FIOS internet and phone service.

.We are generally pleased with the telephone service Verizon provides. There haven't been any major phone service outages since we began using them, only a few minor problems over the years. Verizon is offering their customers the option to upgrade their wire connections to fiber optics at no charge to the customer. All it takes is for a technician to come out to the house and install a connection box to connect the existing in-house circuit with Verizon's fiber optic lines. This will result in improved quality since it would replace wires with fiber optic cables. I do have one complaint about Verizon. This is in regards to the "Operator" key on the telephone. Many years ago, you could easily and conveniently contact the telephone company simply by pressing the "Operator" key on the keyboard. This is no longer true. There is no live person to talk to when you press the operator key. This may not seem to be an important issue in today's world of cell phones, but in our situation and I'm sure in other households across the country, it is an important service that is lacking in our current phone service. I remember when you could get many services simply by talking with the operator. Now a live operator that you can talk to doesn’t exist. For a household that has persons that are not technically knowledgeable, it would help out greatly and add peace of mind to know that you could talk with a live person. I remember contacting Verizon about this issue. They send out an email asking the customer to complete a survey concerning how they were treated and if the issue was resolved. I remember taking the survey and I said the issue was not resolved. One of the questions in the survey was worded something like "Tell us how we can improve the rating you gave us in the survey". I wrote that you should answer my question as to why there is no live person when you press the "Operator" key. Verizon never responded to my question in their survey.
Description of Work: Verizon is our landline telephone service provider. This review is for the telephone service they provide. There was no technician who came to our house to provide service. We have been using Verizon for our local telephone service since they were spun off the Bell System during divestiture in the 1980's

Internet and wireless connections are about 0. Can not use wireless throughout home even right next to modem. No call coverage in home 2 bars when sting in front of house.

3 weeks since the first call, still not resolved. An intermittent connection problem led to it being shut down, then back up two weeks in, but still intermittent. In seven cases, i was assured of call backs for updates or service, but I ended up having to do all of the calls myself, often the next business day after they failed to call. Unfortunately, I have no choice, really. A terrible company which is big enough that they just don't need to care about customer service.

In the process, they cut our Ethernet cord. We were without internet for a while. I tried to schedule an appointment for them to come back but they were busy due to the fourth of July. They did not show up for an appointment. I took off work and they never showed or called. Finally, after being on hold for an hour and continuously being transferred, I was able to confirm an appointment. They were not responsive.
Description of Work: They came out to re establish our phone service. We have their phone service and high speed internet.

The service is good sometimes, but they are pricey. I did have a good experience with them when my phone broke and they sent me another for free. I don't have a fancy phones as I am too old for that. I just use a little, cheap one. I'm too old to handle a smartphone. I am not sure if I am good to rate them because of that. I think they are a little pricey.

I have unlimited talk and text service from them. I probably would not use them again. They could improve on the timely manner that they get back to us. Their package deal keeps changing all the time frequently. They don’t let us to get a real deal and keep it. That is too much of hassle.

We lose signal quite a bit. We are not very happy with their TV coverage. We have already been over the phone with them 4 times this week with our TV problem. It freezes up and they keep the same time on there all the time. We have replaced the boxes 25 times last year. They are doing nothing to better the service. They don't apologize either. We are in contract with them.

I needed a new cell phone, as mine was shot. I went to the South Hills Village store and was convinced by the clerk there that the FREE Pantech phone was what I needed. I went along with their suggestion, and HATE the phone. It is a piece of junk, but I am stuck with it for 2 years. When the contract runs out I will also run out of Verizon to another supplier.

Our internet service is fine. Our cell phone service is unlimited, and our cable has definitely more channels than the basic. They only came out once, but they were definitely on time.

Unfortunately with Verizon their customer service is telephone hell. We are going to keep with them for the telephone line but because it’s so difficult to get in touch with them and to get the right person to do anything we would not be having any services. In terms of quality it’s difficult to say because once we reach someone they are great but it can take us all day of being on hold and being transferred until we reach the person who could help us it’s also like going to a cabin with a blindfold on to get to that person.

I go out of the country a lot, and they are not very usable. I pay $30 for the home phone, and $70 for the cell phone services. Their services are OK, I am not thrilled with them. When I go out of the country, I cannot get service.

The best deal I have is for untimely evenings and weekends. I’m pretty happy with their service. I never had dropped calls when I’m traveling. I’m pretty pleased with their service. I would use them in the future.

When I had the previous cable company's service, I was having a lot of trouble as the TV would pixelate and I was losing my service. It's been nine months since I went to Verizon and I never had any trouble with their installation. I would continue to use them.

They had a new girl who messed up my whole contract. I had to redo my whole service. They changed a few things and didn't explain it to me properly. I gained a faster internet speed and I got locked into another two year contract. They gave me a $300 visa gift card for being a new customer when I wasn't.

I still have no landline service, and very low internet connectivity. No two people in a row at Verizon will ever tell you the same thing. It is like a body without a head. The "service", each time, has cost precisely what it is worth... NOTHING!!
Description of Work: Verizon is, and has been my landline and internet service provider for many years. For about the past year I have experienced periods of time where my internet (Broadband) would not connect, or my phones would not work. This has continued to get worse. Twice they have sent workmen to do work outside of my home. This has done NOTHING. I have had NO phone service, and very little internet connectivity for nearly two months. A few days ago I called them from my computer. The first person said that there was nothing they could do, because the problem was inside my home. The second person said that the problem was with their system; that the internet service had "knocked" my phone service "off", that they would have someone take care of it by yesterday at 5PM. They text messaged me all of the particulars and said they would text me again when everything was fixed. They did, indeed, text me to say that everything was fixed. The only trouble is that I still have ABSOLUTELY NO PHONE SERVICE WHATSOEVER. But the bills keep right on coming, and I do not know what to do. My advice is not to deal with Verizon if at all possible.

My mother had passed away and I was trying to switch her current service from Internet and Phone to my name and just keep the phone service. I was on the phone for an hour plus, several days. I was constantly sent to different departments and puit right back at the beginning of the hold queue. It took days to even pay the existing balance let alone switch the service. When it finally did happen (a week plus later) they missed the promised deadline by several days. I consistently got different stories and excuses from their customer "service" reps. I was forced to use Verizon otherwise I would have chosen ANY other company.
