The first lamp was diagnosed with a burned out socked. The repair only took a couple of days and was very inexpensive. My second light was much more complicated. The man who actually performed the repairs called me personally to explain the problem. It was a decorative race car lamp with a circuit board that controlled the sound of the car mounted on the lamp. The technician was able to bypass the circuit board to allow the lamp to light up. I appreciated the fact that he called me and explained the problem and let me know how costly repairing the entire system would be as well as giving me another option. I would use them for all my future repairs. Everyone I encountered at the store was professional, courteous and very friendly.

When I went into their shop they immediately greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I mentioned that I needed a lamp repaired and they took my name and number and said that it should be done by next week. They called me when it was ready. It was nice that they were able to repair my lamp versus throwing it out since it was a matching table lamp. It was worth the money and time to go to them and have someone take the time and care to fix my lamp.

I worked with them with D and J electric and they told me what I was needed and I went right over there with a list and found what I needed and they put it all together for me. They were very helpful and professional.

Repair is fine

I have a beautiful lamp which has always given me trouble. It's a three-way lamp, but it never worked on the highest wattage. I had it repaired once, but the repair did nothing to help. I finally decided to try, again. I took the lamp to Typhoon. I was immediately impressed because (and don't laugh) they have their very own little parking lot. They're on a street that's never easy to park on, so that made me happy. I was told the repair would be $40. That also pleased me because I thought it would be more than that. They gave me a ticket and said they'd call when the lamp was ready. I got a call the very next day that the lamp had been fixed! I had expected to wait at least a week. When i went to pick up the lamp, the charge was less than I had been told the cost would be. The lamp now works perfectly. I know I'm supposed to say exactly what was done to the lamp, but I'm not clear on exactly what it was. They told me, but I've forgotten. In any case they replaced something. Oh, I remember: it was the socket. Their store is very nice. I didn't need another light fixture, but I was impressed by the lovely and unusual lamps I saw there. The staff was very friendly and warm.

Had a broken crystal lamp that needed put together. They did the impossible and figured out how to put it together. The glue didn't hold, and I took it back and they made it right. They were great to work with and will definitely go back.

I needed it in a hurry because I had already scheduled an electrician. They worked through their lunch hour to help me find a lantern. They had it rushed so I had it in time. They were great and they were very helpful people. They were very kind even though they were starving because it was their lunch hour. They made sure I had the right materials because I needed cast iron. Every other place I went to said it would be three weeks and they had it right away. They were terrific and professional.

Wow, this place is awesome, and the people are super nice. Their store is great. They take old lighting and expertly restore it. We have MANY pieces from them, and they are nothing short of perfect! The cost is high, but the work they do is labor intensive, so you get what you pay for. Nothing you can find on ebay. For example, they use cloth wire. So great! You'll love their items. They will also refinish your own product.

THE OWNER IS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY HELPFUL. SHE WILL GO OUT OF HER WAY TO FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
