Tom and Brian did an excellent job. The roof over the rear patio was installed about 12 years ago and a water drainage problem created a haven for carpenter ants. The repair resolved both the drainage issue and the ant infestation as near as we can determine. Anyone looking at the roof following the repair would be hard pressed to be able to determine what section was removed and replaced. I recommend these guys to anyone and would use them again.

The two men were very courteous and they arrived at a reasonable time in the morning . They went up on the roof to determine what needed to be done to correct the water leak and explained what they were going to do and gave me the total cost for the job . They were very professional about their work . After talking with them i knew they know their job profession well . Would hesitate to call them again if needed

I called to schedule an estimate to repair/replace broken gutters. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. She answered with an annoyed "HELLO!" and was very unprofessional. She immediately wanted my personal information, which made me skeptical of the service. I thought I had the wrong number or something. I asked if I could have a date and time for the estimate and she replied "well you know, we're really busy, so it might be a few weeks, maybe longer." I asked if I could have something sooner, or at least a definite date and she said "There's nothing I can do for you." Well, thanks for nothing, I'll never use your unprofessional and rude business for anything. Advice: Be professional when you answer the phone, and let the caller know they've reached a business before demanding their personal information.

When they came to do the quote, they checked the leaky section, explained what was wrong, and what they needed to do to fix it. They also checked the entire balance of the roof to see if there were any other trouble spots. They quoted us a price, and advised us it could be 2-3 weeks before they would be able to come and fix it. They called back in a few days to let us know they had an open day the next day, and asked if it was okay to come by and complete the repair. They explained what they were doing during the entire process. They were very neat and careful, working around my foundation plants, and keeping debris off the ground. The quality of the work was excellent, and we couldn't be happier.

Called to schedule a gutter repair/replacement due to positive reviews - a woman answered with a huffy "hello" and I had to ask is this a business or did I get a wrong number. Curt response back but confirmation it was a business. Then asked if we could get an estimate or gutter repair/replacement. "Well it may take a couple a weeks for him to get out there". Ok that's fine your busy...lets book a date when can you come. "I Don't know at least a couple a weeks got a big project going on now he's really busy". So you can't give me a time/date to come out and check? "Nope best I can do is take your name and number and he'll have to call your when he's free to come look'. The tone and lack of professionalism had as much to do with my impression as the answers (which were also frustrating). I don't mind if a contractor is busy - I'll wait 10-14 days for a good worker and a fair price. But if you can't manage to have a friendly, or at least functional, person answering the phones then I would be scared to give you my business. You can't take work past a week or two infront of you or even give estimates (or timeframes as to when you can)? Sounded like his wife answering the home phone who also sometimes acts as a secretary to schedule her husbands work while he's out on the job site. Not that the charm of a mom and pop isn't appreciated, but I'd like a professional businessman to do my work. What if I had a problem I'm going to be stuck talking with the same one who answered the phone? perhaps it was a bad day but it was a poor enough customer service experience that I thought it needed shared with the community. The other two contractors I reached out to ( I get 3 bids) had professional voice mails and friendly staff call me back within 30-60 minutes and booked me the next day for a free estimate.

He did a terrible job and I had paid him $500. I had to stop him before he complete the job and I would never recommend him. He was not qualified and we loss $500. He had to replace the post and the back of my patio and he put down small ones. He also tried to fill some spaces with plastic wood. It looks terrible.

To start with, the posts that the contractor used to replace the old posts were smaller in width than the original posts. This was the first problem. When I called his attention to this, he said that they didn't come in the same size as the original posts. Upon investigating this I was able to find posts that were the same size as the original. Because of the fact that they were not the same size, the hole at the top of the roof where the post meets the roof was not covered and and there was a gapping space of about 1 1/2 inches all around the perimeter of the post. There was nothing professional looking about the job. When I pointed out, he attempted to remedy this problem by installing a 'baseboard' type wood around the perimeter, but this did not fit snugly and there were still space between the roof and the posts. Then he tried to fill in the gap with caulking, which I suggested to him out of desperation. The caulking was sloppy. The bead was irregular and not even. He started using a white caulking and when he ran out he used brown. When this still didn't fill in the gape, he decided to use a strip of plastic quarter-round, which looked totally inappropriate on the cedar posts. Even this didn't fill in the space and it looked very sloppy. I finally decide to ask him to stop until my husband could look at the job. My husband agreed with my analysis and we asked him not to complete the job. The total cost of the job was approximately $1450. We gave him a downpayment of $500 and we left it at that. We now need to find someone who can start the job over from scratch and do it in a professional manner. The problem could have been remedied by using the right size posts and cutting them to fit flush with the roof and the ground. Mr. Kuhns was a very nice man, but I think that he was out of his area of expertise which is roof construction. I don't think that he should ever have accepted this job because it definitely wasn't professional looking.

They came and gave us an estimate for repairs. They came right away and did the job, the price was perfect for the work we had done. I can't say enough good things about them, they were great. We would definitely use them again when we can afford to have the roof replaced.

Apparently they won't go to the north hills at all, Ross Township was way too far. (All of 15 miles from the business location.) I'd have cheerfully paid a small surcharge due to the great reviews, but that wasn't an option.

I think it took them three days to do the roof and then, I wanted them to put screens on the gutters. So, they came back another day and did that. The work looks nice. Just over the winter, we have noticed the gutters were overflowing and we were going to call them on that, but we did not get to call them yet. They were good. Their price was good also. We went with them because we thought they had a good price. They were very good to get back to you. Some people you call and they never call you back.

Everything went as proposed.

Naturally, gutter professionals are quite busy this time of year. When I called, I was told it would be a few weeks before they would get to my house and it was. But, as promised, they called on a late November day and asked if it was a good day to come. It was, and they arrived in less than an hour. It didn't take them long to assess the situation and recommend a solution. There was, indeed, standing water in the gutters (it rained the previous night), but the gutters are attached to the house in way that does not allow adjustment of the slope. Since there was only one downspout on each gutter, they recommended the installation of two additional downspouts. I agreed. They went to get the materials they needed, returned quickly and got the job done. The installers were courteous, respectful, and communicated well. They left no mess. They even did a minor repair on one of our existing downspouts for no extra charge.

I was super pleased. I was astounded and trust me that doesnt happen very often. I wasnt even finished puttin in my info before he called for work. He was excellent.

I spoke with Mr. Kuhn twice. The first time we spoke he said he was very busy and would be able to inspect my roof within two weeks but would not commit to a firm date. After a week and a half went by, called and spoke with him again. He said that the earliest he could inspect my roof was within another week, but would not commit to a date. It has been two weeks since we last spoke and still no inspection and no phone call to explain why. Mr. Kuhn seems like he does not want any more business. Both times when we spoke he said he was "very busy" and the second time he became frustrated when I asked him for a firm date saying "everybody wants their work done yesterday." This might be true, but I all I wanted was a date that he could come and inspect my roof.

They fixed a gutter for me and cleaned them out too! Great work.

These guys did great work. The crew is very professional and did a good job cleaning up. I ask a lot of questions and they always thoroughly answered them. They go above and beyond to make sure that the customer is satisfied. Two great examples of this would be that while they were doing the gutters they noticed that my garage light was pulling away on the one side (it was like that before they started the job) and they fixed it. They had to go up to the attic and noticed I had a loose step so they tightened it. They did such a great job on the roof that I had them come back and re-do my front porch.

The services provide by Kuhn Home Improvement was excellent. I knew it was a smaller job for them but they indicated it could be fit in within their other jobs and would be completed in a timely manner. Within 10 days of accepting their reasonable estimate they were on site and doing the work. They were very professional, through in their clean up and while they were here I was able to get a smaller job reviewed by them. The 2 people on site worked well together and completed the job efficiently. I feel very confident that I would use them in the future if the need arises.

Tom's crew worked hard and did a wonderful job. They were here bright and early every day, cleaned up after themselves everyday and showed sincere concern that my 2 dogs not step on nails, etc. They were very professional and the price was very reasonable. They will no doubt be my go-to home improvement company for future products. Nice guys, all of them.

After calling to hire this company I found out (due to heavy rains) they were already a month behind on roofing work. However, because my job was so small, they were able to fit me in between larger jobs and came out only a couple days after I called. The crew was extremely polite, prompt and very professional. They did the work with a minimum of noise and absolutely no mess at all. Since he was going to be on the roof anyways, I also asked the main repairman if he wouldn't mind cutting back some tree branches that were touching the roof (using a trimmer I provided). Not only were they happy to do that for me but the crew did other additional repairs as they came across them, even those outside the written estimate, without charging me a cent more. At the end of the job, you can't even tell there was ever a leak or rotting wood over the porch. It looks amazing. Not only would I use them again, but I will be recommending them to all my neighbors. Tom Kuhn Home Improvement is extremely professional.

My gutters were cleaned. I thought I have a hole in one gutter but it was just an overload of leaves etc. Tom arrived on time. He made suggestions or slated roof and gave me a ball park price. This could cost between 3 & 4 hundred dollars. I will call him at a later date. Pat

Very prompt and professional. Workers were very polite and worked quietly. Any concerns I had at the completion of the job were quickly rectified. Would definitely use this company again.

Needed to replace the shingles on my roof along with the gutters and downspouts. Called Tom Kuhn on a Monday and requested an estimate. Tom called back and said they would have someone at the house the following Thursday. The estimate arrived in the mail the following Monday. I called Tom that day and gave him the go-ahead to do the work and asked how soon he thought it could be done. He told me he thought they could start within two weeks. I got a call one week later letting me know they could start the following Monday. Tom and his crew arrived on Monday morning as promised and went right to work. His crew was courteous and did excellent work. They cleaned up at the end of each day and caused as little disruption as possible. I am very pleased with the result and with the way the work was done. Tom and company were very responsive, charged a fair price, and did excellent work. I highly recommend them.

Very prompt, I am very pleased of him, coming out to my, I was very comfortable with him. He was not able to do the work, but he was very polite, and honest, and did not charge me anything.
