Called the company on a Wednesday about getting roof/siding work done. Lady called me back 2 hours later and asked me what I needed done. After explaining what I needed she said someone would call me to set up an appointment to come out and look at what I needed. 5 days later I still didn't receive a call. Called to see why I never got a call. Spoke to Tom Kuhn who said he would look up my name and get back to me. Called back 20 minutes later to say he found my information and his son would call me back to set up an appointment in a couple days. 5 days later still never heard from anyone. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but now I'm almost 2 weeks behind on getting things done to the outside of my house and with the weather changing it's going to make it more difficult. Very disappointed in this company.

From start to finish everything always goes well.

I did not have any issues with them and will use them again in the future.

I placed the call and just a few days later Tom Kuhn came out to look at the problem. After assessing the situation we were told that he could fix it that same day for $350. Wanting to get it taken care of, and not having much luck getting a response out of several other roofers, we said yes. The crew performed the shingle patch and the caulking in a couple of hours. They cleaned up well and I was pleased with the job. We're planning to get the house painted this month, so really needed to have this leak fixed before the new paint and caulking went onto the porch ceiling (where previous owners had drilled holes to let the water out!). I can't say if the price was great or not since we didn't receive any other bids on the job. I would have liked a better color match on the shingles, but this is an older roof so not sure if that's even possible; plus, we live on the high side of the street so no one sees the roof anyway. My highest marks to Tom Kuhn for responsiveness and efficiency on this job.

I would recommend them. They charged around $35000-$40000. The price was fair.

Tom Kuhn improvment scheduled the work to be done quickly, came to finish the work during the scheduled week, and finished it. Everyone we dealt with was courteous. We have had no leaks since then (almost a year ago).

These guys are very good! They are my go to contractor. I call with a description of the project and I'll have an estimate by the end of the week. They work with you providing suggestions/options that include pricing. They are prompt and clean up all of their debris, very neat. After the panels were installed I noticed some that were sagging & Don came out right away to remedy the sag. Once we got our porch swing they came back the next day to place the eye bolts and hang it!

They didn't have the leaf guards with them so they went and got them to finish the job.

My overall experience with him was good. His price was average. The quality of work was excellent. He was responsive and punctual.

While we did not have Tom Kuhn do any work, I wanted to comment on his response to my call. We arranged for the company to inspect the roof and give an estimate. They came on time, did the inspection and gave an honest evaluation of the condition of the roof. A written estimate was sent within a week. We did not choose the company only because we decided to go with a company based in our neighborhood.

It was Saturday and water was leaking through my roof onto my desktop and computer. I contacted a few of the top listed roofers on the list. Tom and his son arrived on time Monday to provide an estimate. They were professional and congenial and quickly diagnosed the problem. My roof required a tall ladder, which they had with them. It turned out that the repair required a replacement shingle and I didn't have a spare that matched my odd roof color. Tom and his son drove back to their shop and returned in about half and hour with matching shingles and completed the repair. They left the extra shingles with me. The price was very fair and considering the extra effort they made to ensure the job looked good I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Tom Kuhn to anyone needing his service. (The repair has weathered several heavy rainstorms perfectly.)

Overall, the experiences was extremely positive. Honest and Proessional and provides excellent quality of work. I would recommend and have recommended to family and friends.

Tom Kuhn was the only person I contacted who not only showed up to look at my house but also actually provided an estimate. Even though I was forced into using him, I have no regrets at all. His son actually went on to my roof and noticed that there were three layers of shingles rather than the two that the home inspector informed me of. They showed up every day and finished the job very quickly. They had to replace quite a bit of wood up top but did not charge me for it even though I had agreed to pay in the contract. They also were kind enough to rehang my mailbox at no extra charge. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

While my experience with Tom was great, I ended up going with a different contractor for other reasons, I definitely recommend Kuhn Home Improvements based on the estimate/proposal process I experienced.

They did what they said they were going to do, gave me a quote, and I have not had any problem since. They used the old slate, and they said it matches my property better.

Did a fantastic job,from the initial call to the work being completed. We would definitely have them back. (I may have paid less but I can't remember)

We are very pleased with the work done by Tom and his crew. Tom came quickly, gave us an estimate, and arranged to do the work earlier than anticipated. They repaired water leakage around our chimney and valleys on our slate roof as well as repaired and creatively solved a water problem at our basement door. They were nice to work with, very professional, fair priced, and we intend to have them again when needed.

Tom Kuhn has done several jobs for me in the past and I was very satisfied with them. He was professional and the repair process went well, were professional and, best of all, I didn't need to call him back because the work was done right the first time. All work was billed at the quoted price. On the most recent job, I thought I had been quoted a different price than the final billed amount. I spoke to Tom and he resolved the problem quickly and in a way that was satisfactory for both of us. I would definitely have him do my work in the future. He looks over the job soon after you call him but, because he is rather busy, it might take several weeks before he can do the work. Then, it is done well and professionally. I am very pleased with all the work he has done for me.

Wow! Can't say enough good things about these guys. Polite, punctual, friendly, quality workmanship, fair price - didn't think that there were companies around like this any more. I had a small job to replace a short piece of gutter, and two downspouts that were leaking. Foreman came out to look at the job and gave me a complete explanation of what needed done. Three days later I received a price quote in the mail, and within a couple of days the work was complete. All work was done to the highest quality, and to my satisfaction. Very highly recommend this company!

They basically did a whole bunch of things on the roof. The one negative about them is that it takes a very long time for them to get out here but I think that it is because they are so busy. However, when they were able to they came out on time. They gave me an estimate one day. They came and did the work on the following day. So, they were very quick. I thought that their price was very fair. They actually did more than they had to. They gave me an estimate to fix some cracks in my roof but then they also cleaned out my gutters, re-caulked the ceiling around the chimneys and the vents. Obviously, they did a good job because it has rained quite a few times since then and I have not had any problems. They were on time. They did good work and did more than they had to. I would absolutely use them again in the future as I plan on it.

He gave me the estimate in a timely fashion. The estimate was pretty good but I went with another company for different reasons.

Outstanding people. Skilled, prompt and honest. Supplied a bid promptly and revisited to meet with me personally to go over details of job. Bid was very fair. Team showed up on the scheduled date on time. Quality of work excellent to my observation. A problem arose, caused by the company which manufactured the shingles, during the job. Tom Kuhn was completely honest about what occurred and we resolved the situation fairly. I judge companies by the quality and timeliness of their work and how they respond to the inevitable problems which arise. Tom Kuhn Home Improvements was superb in all of these aspects during my roofing job. Mr. Kuhn is an utterly honest man and I would unhesitatingly employ his company again, and give it my highest recommendation.

It is a family owned business. They were all very nice and helpful. They did a good job.
