Description of Work: Repair one hose bib and installed a new in the back yard. They had to drill through concrete block to install the new bib in the back and install new cooper pipe. I have them also take care of my HVAC needs.

+ -1 moreBecause we had to turn off the water to the house, we called Terry's Plumbing for their 24 hour emergency service. We called on a Friday evening and were told that nobody could come out that night. Instead, they said they would call at 8 am the following morning to schedule a time to come out. When nobody had called us by 10:30 the following morning, we called back. They had indicated that they intended to come at some point during the day, but were vague. In the end, however, and despite the poor communication initially, they did show up and they did solve our immediate problem. The plumber was courteous and explained everything he was doing. He even took a look at another issue we were having in our first floor powder room.
Description of Work: The pipe to our second floor bathtub was leaking in the wall and had begun to leak through the floor into our living room below. This forced us to shut off the water to the house. Terry's plumbing came out, isolated the source of the leak and shut off the valves to the pipe, stopping the leak and allowing us to turn the water back on.

+ -1 moreRead the estimates very carefully. At first the price seemed OK, but upon closer inspection it became clear that not all of the needed work was included and they have no obligation to maintain the original quote (the estimate paperwork says something to that effect, but in small print).

+ 1 moreWrap-up. I had a look at the work and was nicely impressed with the end result. And true to form what they quoted was what was on the invoice. All Terry s Plumbers employees were very professional and always willing to answer or help with any questions I had. Never felt like they were hiding anything. Their work was top rate and more importantly done in a very timely manner (trying to keep two young boys clean without hot water is a challenge) Apart from the late start I still give them an A overall.
Description of Work: I called Equitable Gas to check out a leak at about 9:00am; they didn't find one, they found eight, so they had to turn off the gas. I called Terry's Plumbing that morning and they had a person (Rick) on site and with a verbal quote by about 3:00 pm. Rick explained (in great detail) the problems and what needed to be done. Replace all gas lines and fitting to the stove, furnace, water heater and dryer ($950). I also asked him to replace the 20 year old Water Heater, to which he offered a lot of different options. We went for the 50 Gallon 8 year tank ($650). By then it was a bit late to start work that same day. They said they would start the next morning by 8:30am, but didn't arrive until about 10:00am. That isn't as bad as it seems because I was always kept up to date by Kathy (the dispatcher) who was very cordial on the phone. When they did arrive they got straight to work and had the whole job finished by 3:30pm.

+ -1 moreI had a waterheater problem, took a day off of work for the scheduled time (between 8-12) and by 1:30 when they didn;t show up canceled and called Mr. Waterheater who was there within 1 1/2hours, AND was cheaper by $80. I found Terry, while quite helpful and cheerful on the phone, to not really care about the customer's schedule.
Description of Work: I had a waterheater problem, so I took a day off of work for the scheduled time (between 8-12). By 1:30 when they didn't show up, I canceled and called Mr. Waterheater who was there within 1 1/2hours, AND was cheaper by $80.

+ -1 moreWhen I made the appt I specifically asked for, and was told that I could have a 3:00 appt. The scheduler was not happy, but agreed to give me that time. Then a day before the appt (which was made 2 weeks in advance). They called and said that 3:00 was to late, and changed the time to 2:00. I left work at 1:00 so that I would be home by 2:00, and then at 2:00 they called to say that they where on the way. But then did not get to my house until 2:45.
Description of Work: Determine why air conditioning was not working. Cleaned unit.

Description of Work: I had them replace the insides of three of my toilets and the supply water line for underneath the tank was changed. He also replaced the stopper on my tub.

+ -1 moreTHEY DID AN AVERAGE JOB. THE WORK WAS FINE, BUT AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE LINE THEY EXPECTED ME TO SET UP THE INSPECTION. I SPENT A DAY WITHOUT GAS AND THEY TREATED ME LIKE THE PROBLEM.
Description of Work: THEY REPLACED THE OLD GAS LINE FROM THE CURB INTO THE HOUSE AND TO THE GAS METER.

+ 0 moreTHE PLUMBER REPAIRED THE GAS LINE. I WAS A LITTLE SURPRISED THAT HE HAD NO ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT TO DETECT LEAKS (INSTEAD HE SPRAYED ON A SOAP SOLUTION AND LOOKED FOR BUBBLES.) DURING THE REPAIR, HE DISCONNECTED THE VENT IN THE BACK OF THE DRYER. WHEN I CALLED AND REQUESTED THAT HE COME BACK TO FIX IT AT NO COST, THE RECEPTIONIST WAS UNCERTAIN ABOUT THEIR POLICY. AFTER CHECKING WITH MY HOME WARRANTY COMPANY, THEY DID SEND SOMEONE OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
