I have used T's many times over the last five years for consultation of home design as well as making everything from outdoor furniture cushion to bed skirts to decorative pillows and window treatment and they do a fabulous job with recommending on home decoration as well as their sewing things for the home. They are really outstanding.

Very well. I would use them again. I took the chair there and picked it up.
Description of Work: The provider took my living room desk chair and gave it a new seat. The seat was sinking in. She replaced the padding and gave it new upholstery. The fabric was purchased at the store for only $10 as it was a remnant. So most of the cost was labor. They did a beautiful job and I would use them again.

Although the work was good, they were not at all responsive. I constructed new plywood bases for seats for my boat and in May 2013 I brought them to the studio so they could put the foam and covers on. It took them about two weeks to contact me with a price--$1,100 for two seats. Because I had worked with them in the past and felt the work was good I told them to proceed and gave them a 50% deposit despite what seemed to be a high cost for a simple job. (Nearly every boat seat I have seen is foam on plywood with a cover made from marine vinyl. The cover has be sewn, but most installers simply glue the foam on the wood, and staple the cover to the base and use hide-em to cover the staples. That would have been satisfactory.) Throughout June and July I called a number of times. The first time, I was told they were working on a big job and had not started my project yet. The next time, I was told both the owner of the shop and the upholsterer were on vacation. I called once or twice a week starting at the beginning of July and was told and quot;the seamstress is working on themand quot; then and quot;the upholsterer has them.and quot; Finally on Thursday of July 18 (about two months after they got the project) I phoned and was later advised that the seats would be ready either late Friday or Saturday July 20 after 10:00 a.m. at the latest. I arrived Saturday at 11:30 and was told the upholsterer left before finishing the seats. The sales people promised to advise the owner of the shop of this situation and based on their reaction I assumed (apparently incorrectly) that some adjustment would be made to try to placate me for this treatment--even simply an offer to deliver the seats would have made me feel better. Finally I got a call on Monday July 22 advising me the seats were finished. I picked them up on Tuesday the 23rd and was disappointed that I did not even get an apology just and quot;oh they were supposed to call you earlier on Saturday and say the seats were not doneand quot;. Frankly, I feel as though they did not view me as a big enough customer to be worthy of their time or attention.

Response from T's Upholstery Studio
Dear [removed member name]: My sincere apology for the poor service extended to you. We treasure our repeat customers and depend on them to spread the good word about T's, especially since we do not advertise. When your cushions were first brought in we were extremely busy with prior orders and dealing with staff vacations; hence the longer than usual completion time. I was out of town when the cushions were promised and am horrified to learn the cushions were not ready. Our usually capable staff on Saturday was not aware of the specifics of your order and our upholsterer erred in not finishing your order before leaving for the day. Since Mary Ann was not in on Saturday I don't think she was aware of what had transpired that day. Had I been in town I would have delivered the cushions to you myself. Regarding price, we fabricated your cushions the most professional way possible using the best quality materials while striving to be price competitive. We have worked on similar projects that have won national awards. I will contact you today to discuss further with the hope of regaining your loyalty. Kind regards, Cindy

I enthusiastically recommend T's Upholstery for any work involving slip covers or upholstery. Cindy makes house calls for measurements, etc., but a trip to her shop on Butler Street can be a treat, not only in terms of variety of fabrics available, but also for unusual gift items, both vintage and modern. Most important is the service; personal, caring and customer-focused. This blend of professionalism and personal attention seems to be a hallmark of T's Upholstery. Since having the work done, I have heard others speak with appreciation for the unique craftsmanship and courtesy provided by this Lawrenceville treasure.
Description of Work: Rehabilitated two 40-year-old custom-made sofas which were basically sturdy and stylish but whose white cushions and slip covers were dingy, spotted and worn out. Cindy Leckenby came to our home to do precise measurements, assess costs and pinpoint possible complications, all of which turned out to be accurate. To bring the sofas back to life, I had the slip covers professionally cleaned (Sam's Cleaners on Cochran Road) and delivered them to Cindy with the request to work magic. She had her talented staff fill our newly cleaned covers with top-of-the-line Qalux luxury foam wrapped in Dacron. Rusted zippers on both seat cushions and back cushions were replaced with no damage to the original covers. Spots left over from the dry cleaner were attacked by Cindy's staff and considerably erased. When the finished cushions and pillows were delivered to us after a brief three days, we felt we had two brand-new Custom Craft white sofas that would probably last longer than their owners.
