Initially everything was fine. Then my neighbor contacted me to complain, stating that the Radon Mitigation system was not installed correctly according to code. I verified this with the city only to discover that my neighbor was right. The top of the radon pipe was installed too close to my neighbors window and it was also too short. In addition, the city explained that the company was suppose to obtain a permit before performing the work. Which they didn't. When I contacted the company, they asked for pictures which I was happy to provide along with the codes that I had already confirmed they violated. I was told that they would get back with me by the end of the day. That was not the case. I had to keep contacting them to request a response to the photos and the codes that I submitted for their review. Ultimately, I had to talk to several people at the City until one of them agreed to contact the company directly to advise them of the improper installation. It took 2 weeks for them to finally agree to relocate to Radon Pipe. I initially thought that asking them to relocate it wouldn't be such a big deal since it's not like I was threatening to sue them or demanding a refund. I simply wanted them to make good on their mistake. I respectfully explained my concerns and eagerness to get it resolved since it was effecting the neighbors. They didn't seem to care. All in all, they did move it (which is why I gave them a "D" as opposed to an "F"). I thought it was extremely unprofessional for them to NOT review the codes prior to installation. After all, customers count on professional companies to do safe, quality work, at a fair price. In my opinion, this wasn't safe at all.

All services were performed quickly. I called for a price Thursday and the installation was completed by noon on Saturday. The installer was very friendly and did a good job. Honestly, if this were for my home that I was moving into I would have considered another contractor and paid a bit more to have a neater, more hidden installation. But for a home that I was selling it provides the function it needs to. Nothing was done wrong or sloppy, but for the price it is a very basic installation in the easiest spot they could access.

The initial service and installation actually went pretty well, it was the follow-up that was the problem. They gave us a radon test to do to make sure the system was working properly, but they did not tell us to place it in the lowest living level of the home (which is the basement.) The test still came back with high levels, so we went and bought another test on our own, followed the instructions on the package (which said place in the lowest level) and the test results were twice as high. So, we did a third test just to be sure, and that one came back even higher. We sent them the test results and they sent us another test of theirs to do (I guess they didn't trust the ones we did) and theirs still came back twice over the recommended limit. This all took several months. Then they told us that we would have to pay for a fan upgrade to try and address the problem and that will be at least another $150. So , we tried to schedule a service with them to do it. It's been over a month and finally we get a call from the service department to schedule it. Then, the service guy doesn't show up on the day of the appointment. We call to tell them, and leave a message (because they hardly ever answer the phone there) and they haven't returned our call since and it's been a couple of weeks. This is the LEAST responsive company I've ever had to deal with, and now we are stuck with a system that we are not even sure works.
