Dave was amazing. I’d called at least 5 other plumbers having left messages and talking to 24 hour service places that had no one available. Dave answered the phone, asked me specific questions to help ascertain the issue he would be working on just a few minutes later. He arrived, worked his magic, and was done. Beyond reasonable pricing for an emergency, Sunday call. Professional and friendly. So thankful! We will hire Dave every time we have a plumbing need. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

David Stahl is professional. He did a great job buying and installing a new water heater. He answered questions and offered information. His work is exceptional and he left the work area neat and clean. And on top of all that, his price was very reasonable.

Friendly, efficient, effective. Turned out to be a much bigger problem than I originally thought. He stayed late to take care of it, explained everything clearly, showed me the problem areas. He gave me all my different options to work around a budget. I will use him again.

David came out right away after I called at 7:15PM. He was not only very responsive and reasonable but was also genuinely very nice. Identified the issue (the metal pipe was corroding) and fixed it on the spot. He was prepared and worked very cleanly. He also identified two other minor issues that needed attention and made sure to show me his concerns and explained why they needed to be fixed but said they were not a rush. Overall very pleased and will use him for all future plumbing needs

David was very quick to respond to our request. He arrived on Thursday, assessed the repair and said he would return on Monday to complete the project. He arrived again on Monday as scheduled and completed the repair in a timely fashion. Very friendly and professional. I would have no reservations calling on David in the future for any plumbing repairs needed.

Positive reviews and recommendations led us to contact David Stahl when we noticed food backing up into a sink which is not in our kitchen - stressful. Called the company and spoke directly with the owner, who explained his schedule that day and communicated throughout the morning a timeframe on when he would be able to diagnose our problem. Luckily, it took a quick snake but David made sure to explain not just what he was doing, but why, before moving on to a different task. He was professional and courteous of our concerns regarding the cost and scope of the repair. He replaced an access cap out of good faith because he felt it was the right thing to do based on the condition of the existing one. The biggest takeaway is after the fact we came to realize he squeezed us in between jobs when what was very likely time for his own lunch, only to hit the road for the next stop. Would recommend to anyone, and WILL use again.

He never showed up for the appointment. When I tried (for several days) to reach him by phone, it said his voicemail box is full. So, I’m going to have to move on and retain someone else. It’s a shame because when I made the appointment with him, he seemed very nice and professional. But I notice other reviewers said he did the same thing to them (missed the appointment). I note that the phone number he has listed on Angie’s List is the one that you can’t reach him through after he misses the appointment. This is frustrating.

After taking a shower on a Sunday night before bed, I went into my kitchen, which is located right below the bathroom, where I discovered water raining down through the ceiling fan. First thing Monday morning, I called and spoke with David Stahl. I explained my problem and he told me he would get me on his schedule that same day, which he did. He was a little later than he estimated, which I totally understood given the fact that plumbing issues can be hard to plan for until you actually see and diagnose a problem. Honestly, I'd rather the person I'm hiring take the time to do it right for the customer before me, because that also reflects the level of service I can expect. Speaking of jobs being bigger than you might think.... Ugh. On Monday, we were able to replicate the problem I'd had the evening before. It clearly wasn't going to be a quick fix, so he put me on the schedule for Wednesday, because he already had a couple jobs lined up for Tuesday that he expected would take all day. He had an emergency call Wednesday morning but communicated with me that he'd be later than planned, so I was okay with that. When he arrived, he brought "reinforcements" and they got to work. His first attempt at locating the leak with a camera did not prove fruitful, but I appreciated the effort--he didn't want to start cutting into my ceiling just willy-nilly. This turned into quite a quest. A leak was finally discovered and repaired, only to discover another leak when we ran the water to test it. Old house, old pipes... it wasn't pretty. This took a good three or four hours to diagnose. What I really appreciated about David was that he clearly cared about solving the issue and was taking into consideration my budget, my concerns, etc. He was honest with me and made recommendations based on what he was finding, and not once did I feel like he was trying to pressure me into paying for something I didn't need. This is my only full bathroom, and I could tell he appreciated my anxiety. Repairing both drains would have been only slightly less expensive that just replacing all of the failing copper piping, so I opted for the latter,. David had another job scheduled the next day, but referred the job to someone else he knew well and trusted. When the job was finished, David came over in the evening to check it out and even brought a mop with him to clean the floor. He was friendly, cordial, and professional the whole time. Before he left I said to him, "So... you're my guy now. If I have any other plumbing issues, I'm coming to you." Seriously, I never say that to anyone. David has restored my faith that good help can be found in Pittsburgh... because lately almost everyone I have hired to do anything has let me down. As long as you can appreciate that jobs like this take time and that he may not show up on your doorstep exactly at the moment you were expecting him, I say go for it. You won't be disappointed. I put a "B" in price only because I have no frame of reference. Otherwise, A work across the board!

I had high hopes for a professional plumber based on reviews here and Nextdoor, but was sorely disappointed. I called on August 14th and he said he could come the next day between 12pm and 2pm. I asked him to call ahead of time to let me know when he was on his way and he agreed. At 1:45pm I had still not heard from him. At this point I called him to see if he was on his way and he seemed very confused. He didn’t seem to remember that he even had an appointment with me until he looked at his schedule. He said he was still on another job and that time got away from him. He added that this is why he gives a two hour window. At this point it was already 2:00pm and I has been waiting 2 hours. Even if he left that job immediately (which wasn’t likely), he wouldn’t be at my house until at least 2:30pm. I understand getting delayed on a job, but a professional would notify a customer if they were delayed and unable to arrive within the given two hour window. My time is valuable also and I gave up a day of work to be here. I would not waste your time waiting on this guy. If he can’t be professional enough to respect a clients time, I doubt his ability to perform a professional job.

As expected. Dave had the motorized snake that was required. Also advised on future use of the garbage disposal to avoid clogs.

The first time I contacted David was to fix and replace a main soil stack that was no longer connected to the the main sewer line. ( we were having the basement waterproofed when this was discovered ) He called me back promptly and arrived at the time he said he would. He came and assessed the situation and quoted me a price. Due to the fact concrete was being poured the next day, he did all the work that evening. The second time I called David was to disconnect our old heater and cap off our existing gas line to our pool and then to come back and reconnect the new one. Both times he arrived promptly and performed the work in a timely manner. All in all, I would hire David again, he is knowledgeable, very considerate of time constraints and is reasonably priced

We were amazed that Mr. Stahl was able to come to our house about ten minutes after we called as he happened to be in the neighborhood. Showing respect to our home, he took off his boots as he entered. He went straight to work, had what he needed to do the repair on his truck, and performed the repair immediately. Our toilet is working perfectly now! We have a new plumber! We would recommend Stahl Plumbing to our friends and family.

David personally answered his phone when I called. He arrived within 3 hours and was able to get the drain open and explained what he did. He was careful not to damage the flowers that were planted near the drain pipe. His work is guaranteed for 90 days. He provided a insurance certificate before he did the work. I would definitely hire him again.

Very well! Quick response to my calls. Very pleased with the water heater and gas line installation and correction of the leakage under my kitchen sink. Due to his professionalism and willingness to explain everything he was doing, and his reasonable charges, I have confidence in this plumber and he’s the first person I would call to address any future plumbing problems that might arise. David is a very pleasant gentleman, very capable, and I would highly recommend him.

Dave came said could fix in 20 minutes. Tried to fix myself but light would flicker whenever you touched the pipe. The leak was right near meter problem with the ground wire, sparks flew but Dave still fixed it Best of all when he finished said no charge couldn’t believe it. Was professional and prompt will definitely call if ever need a plumber in the future.

David (owner) answered the phone. We discussed my problem and he let me know he could get to my house mid-afternoon. Another job took longer than expected but he communicated throughout the day. The clogged drain was deep in the pipe buried in the wall, but after much persistence, David was able to get the drain cleared. He was very thorough and cleaned up after the work; also offered a 6-month warranty to return if it happens again. We found our new plumber; highly recommend!

They responded quickly to come for an estimate and said it would be emailed the following day but never did. Called them 3 times and left urgent message to return call but never heard from them. I contacted them because of good reviews about responsiveness, not in my case. Ended up with a big mess

I reached out to Stahl Plumbing and Drain in the morning and within 30 minutes, I had an appointment scheduled for that afternoon. Dave was very professional, punctual and extremely knowledgeable. He explained what the issue was and what he was going to do to repair it. Thankfully it was a minor issue and he was able to repair it quickly but correctly. I would highly recommend Stahl Plumbing and Drain!

Dave was very personable and proficient.He diagnosed and corrected our problem in efficiently. His fee was more than reasonable!

Just a few days before the holiday and luckily Stahl was my first call. David was able to squeeze me in to look at toilet issues in both bathrooms! He unclogged one and replaced a part in the other. He was friendly, professional, reasonably priced and knowledgable. He patiently explained everything he was doing and answered all my questions...would hire again and recommend!
