SMUTS BROTHERS DEBRIS REMOVAL

Description of Work: We had unearthed a huge amount of rock from a garden patch and had no way of discarding it. We called Smuts and they ame quickly and dealt with the whole mess in a matter of minutes. Extremely agreeable folks.

Description of Work: I had an old and dilapidated garage on my property that I should have had demolished many years ago. Last year, after checking for some references via Angie's List, I contacted Smuts Bros., among others,for a quote. Christian Smuts was the first person to get me a price for this work. Although I found the quote very reasonable, other expenses precluded me from going forward with the work. This spring, I decided to get more quotes and I was horrified at how high the estimates were. I called Christian Smuts back and he stopped by my house that afternoon. His quote was increased by a minimal amount from the previous year (due to increases in landfill fees). I immediately booked the job with him and he started early the following week. Christian and his two-man crew began work on a Tuesday and, by Thursday, there were no signs that the garage ever existed. This was a 20 x 20 wooden structure that was built sometime in the 50's. It did not fall easily. But Christian's crew worked until all remnants of the building were gone. This included emptying contents, demolishing the structure, and hauling away all of the remnants. Before they left, they swept up all of the remaining dirt until they were down to a concrete pad. I would recommend Smuts Bros. Demolition for any disposal job, big or small. In fact, I keep their business card above my desk.

Description of Work: If there were such a thing as concierge service trash hauling, this would be it. We had recently cultivated a section of our yard and unearthed a huge amount of rock and debris, which could not be disposed of as garbage. Christian came to our house shortly after I called and hauled out the refuse in just a few minutes, apologizing that he had to charge us the minimum fee (which could have been less than $100 but I don't recall exactly.) Description of Work: On 9/1/2011 and 9/6/2011, I called Mr. Smuts about getting an estimate for hauling furniture and other materials from my basement. Left a message on both occasions and have yet to hear back from Mr. Smuts -- writing this on 9/8/2011. Hired another company.

Description of Work: Our 11 room house has 37 plus years of stuff. When the couple who had dickered for several months came up with a price six weeks before they wanted to take possession, we desperately needed help. Christian and his crew came to the rescue. After Chris visited to look the situation over, they made TWO work trips. They brought a dumpster. They cleared us out and cleaned us up, inside and out.

Description of Work: Christian and his helper hauled an antique cabinet from Zelienople to my house in Pittsburgh and backhauled two large cabinets and some miscellaneous items from my basement to Goodwill.

Smuts Brothers removed two old fence panels, an old rotted wood pile, 7' bench, wood paneling surrounding my A/C unit and the remnants of a retaining wall (several railroad ties and approximately 15-20 large stones).

Description of Work: Smuts Brothers did an excellent job hauling away a large quantity of debris including a refrigerator and a number of air conditioning units, boxes, and other items. Christian Smuts, our contact, was very polite, very business-like, very pleasant, and got the job done to our complete satisfaction. According to my building manager, Mr Smuts and his assistants spent as many as 6 hours, and congratulated me on negotiating a good price, and he never complained. I highly recommend his services.

Description of Work: Smuts Brothers demolished, cleaned and hauled away a small addition of our home which was an added exterior enclosed staircase from the ground to the second floor. They also gutted a master bath down to the studs, floor joists and ceiling joists including removing sink, toilet, tub and shower. And lastly, the job entailed removing debris, including demolishing a concrete wall, from a previous greenhouse.

Description of Work: I did a major remodeling project at my home and had lots of construction debris left afterwards. Christian came and gathered it up and hauled it away. The next day, I realized I had forgotten to tell him about some other materials at the side of the garage. He came back and took it as part of the original job without any fuss over an extra fee. The firm also does demolition.
