Do NOT use this company. She was to pay them $2,000 before their work began. She wrote the check, made out to Silver Linings & they cashed it right away, but then wouldn't show up when they said they would & wouldn't answer or return her calls. They argued with my mom about what she could/couldn't take with her. They went through her personal documents & tossed papers that had special meanings. They argued with her & things turned up missing. They volunteered to return her cable equipment, dropping it AT the post office, which never happened. They claim they left it sitting (next to the trash piles) by the mail box instead and it cost mom $750.00 or she wouldn't get new service, which she needed because she is elderly & needed her LifeLine phone service. The "itemized list" of donations had an unknown Tax ID# & was typed out on a regular sheet of paper, no letterhead, no estimated value, etc. I had to contact the organization myself to get correct information. They were VERY unprofessional & rude in the way they spoke to mom. We were able to be there on the day she moved in. One of the people unpacking kept making comments, "Oh, I like this. Is this what you are giving me as a birthday present". This alone made us uncomfortable. At that point we started helping unpack & break down boxes so that items didn't disappear. The people that purchased her home found items they had "stashed away" pretending it was to have gone to the trash in which they put away for safe keeping for mom & kept from this company when they came in to remove remaining items. They removed items that were attached to the home & "sold" them, which my mother then had to compensate the new owners $250.00. In a conversation with said business owner, she "took" special things belonging to mom to their home "for safe keeping". Some of the items they unpacked did not even belong to my mom. At the end of the move mom had to write the final check, which was made out to another company, Smooth Transitions. We live in another state so we couldn't be there to watch over things. Since this company was recommended through her Realtor, we felt confident that they would be a professional company. The entire move became so confusing for mom. They talked circles around her. Mom was not given documentation on "special moving insurance" that she wrote yet another check for. I had to ask for copies of all paperwork or she would have never received it. My mother was taken advantage of by these people. This move was the hardest thing mom has ever had to face. In our opinion this is a shady operation. Very unprofessional. I asked for the digital photos that were mentioned in her contract, but she didn't have any. How convenient? Again, big mistake if you use them.
Description of Work: This company was referred to help my widowed mother move from a large home to a 2 bdrm condo through her real estate person. They were to pack her things that she wanted to keep, put them in storage, clean out the home after the estate sale, sending items to a charitable organization, unpack her things in her new home.

WOW! What a relief to find a person with the patience to deal with the disassembling of a life's collection of furnishings to jewelry to clothes to tools etc. Could not deal with this full time job myself and was delighted with Jill's response and caring attitude toward my mother. I felt very good about the methods and costs associated with the move. As I said mom and I both felt relieved.
Description of Work: Relocation of my mother after my father's death to a senior home.
