His employees (or subcontractors) blew our electric fuse. Instead of notifying me, they decided to “steal” electricity from my next-door neighbor. I was horrified when I received the call from my neighbor. My wife and I thought we had hired an expert, our mistake, we checked his references, must have been his friends. We hired him to make our deck with composite wood (Trex). We later found out that it is very important to space the “two by fours” at least ¼” apart (not doing so voids Trex’s warranty). He did not do this. The first winter was interesting, the loud cracks were loud enough to wake us up. I later found out that the fascia had “popped out” in various locations. I had to reinforce this in the middle of our first winter. All the railings were made without brackets, and the boards are split in several places. Needles to say, all the screws are either too far in, or sticking out of the handrails. Several screws were left with broken (cracked because of torque) bits and rusty sharps edges are now protruding from them. He made a gate (door) to the steps that is completely off-centered and wearing off the Trex material. There was no routing done on any of the boards and there are many sharp edges all over the deck. Every fall we get Maple seeds stuck in the crevices, which can lead to small cuts on our bare feet. After many calls and emails, (I did warn him about this post) I decided to start pulling some boards to space them myself. I pulled out the board against the house and found out that there is no flashing protecting the “ledger.” He screwed the ledger directly against the siding. The ledger is now pulling apart from the house. When the initial work was being done my neighbor asked me to send Seretti Contractors to his house to quote him on some deck restoration. I found out that Mr. Al Seretti had gone to my neighbor’s house without his permission and was power washing his deck. My neighbor had to escort him out of his property. We have a 10yr labor and structure warranty on our contract and he does not respond our calls. Poorly made deck, his employees used my neighbor’s electricity w/out permission. My other neighbor escorted him out of his property. I ended up suing him and winning. The day of the hearing, the court officer said, “We see Seretti’s name all the time.” Meaning many people sue him all the time. He also said, “it is shameful that he is still allowed to do business.” Even though we won (and probably others have too) we have not seen our money back. The Sherriff’s office told me that many unscrupulous contractors do business like this because they know they can get away with it. Do not use him for anything! Here is a little more about him and his background!!!!!!!!!! BBB report Attorney General: “Seretti” in Keyword, see “Background” Go to the Justice.gov site, search for his name. You will get "Pardoned for conspiracy and wire fraud"
Description of Work: Seretti Contractors built our deck using Trex composite material. The deck is 16 X 20 feet.

Seretti Contractor, ran by Mr. Al Seretti or Big Al, did a wonderful job on our new bathroom. We had to give up a little of our dining room to make room for the new powder room. The crew is great, fast and efficient. I highly recommend Seretti Contractors. They also do other general contracting things, so check them out and give the fun Big Al a ring.
Description of Work: Added a powder room to our main floor. The house only had one bath and we added a half bath by the kitchen.
