My daughter locked herself out of her apartment. as she was leaving for vacation and had a group of people waiting for her. She didnt have time to shop around. She called RLL after seeing a $15 service call quote. I warned her not to expect this to be much less than $100, but i couldnt believe they charged her $190 for a job that took literally 30 seconds. I understand that it was midnight and a weekend, they have to make money too. But, this was outrageous. I'm afraid it would have been a lot worse if she hadn't had 8 people waiting for her to leave. I called 2 of the locksmiths listed on Angie's List, that had A ratings, to see what they would have charged. I gave them the time and the circumstances and both said it should have been no MORE than $75-80. One company was so outraged that he gave me the number for the head of consumer protection at the Attorney Generals Office and encouraged me to contact her ( I absolutely will ) I hope this post will save someone else from being taken advantage of. PLEASE do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Advertised at $15, he quoted me $170 before he would touch the door. He estimated an hour's time. He then took a clamp wrench and simply forced the butterfly lock open. It took a minute. When I complained that he had charged me $162 estimating an hour he simply shrugged. After he left, I called his supervisor and complained that I had been ripped off by false advertising, and that I was planning to write of my experience on Angie's list, she did the verbal equivalent of another shrug. Folks, I suggest you stay away. I regret not having come to Angie's before going to the web.
Description of Work: He unlocked a dead bolt that had stiffened--I thought it had broken--due to the humidity and rain. After he had forced it open it was certainly broken.
