This year it took 5-6 weeks to have my awning put up. I left several messages with their answering service during regular business hours and requested to have my awning water proofed at the same time. My phone messages to be contacted were never returned. When my awning was finally put up half of it was stained and permanently ruined. I was never warned of the possibility of staining and was never contacted by the company prior to the incident. I called weekly for a month to have somebody from the company see the damage that was caused to my property. I finally got ahold of the owner today and wanted only to discuss what could be done. The conversation quickly elevated. I was blamed for the problem and told "you've got to be F**king kidding me, file a lawsuit" and then was hung up on. As the president of the company she was very unprofessional. This company has TERRIBLE customer service.

We were very pleased with the workmanship and friendliness of the installers along with the office personnel.

Prompt response, excellent price and very quality awning! Well below estimates we received from Wagamans, Laurel and Indutex. Woud highly recommend.

Their price was significantly below the other bid we had (additionally they gave us the benefit of a 5% off Angie's List coupon, which was printed in the Angie's List book, but not listed on the Angie's List website) and we preferred their proposed method of installation (nothing attached to the roof). The awnings were all installed on time (they said they would try to have them all installed by Memorial Day and they did) and they look great. The structures are very sturdy (the installer demonstrated by doing chin-ups on the patio structure). They did forget to include a cutout by one entryway; however they have promised to add that when they take the awnings down in the fall. I highly recommend this company; they were easy to work with, professional and did a very good job for us.

I didn't even get a return phone call for 12 days. I realize the company may be busy, but its unacceptable not to return a phone call for this long. Too bad because their reviews are pretty good otherwise.

April 22, 2009 - Installer arrived with samples and explained the requested new width had limits, due to cosmetics of my entry door. Extremely helpful. He measured several times and provided drawings on my estimate. I was happy with price and made down payment on the spot. Within a few weeks, the team arrived to make the necessary changes to the hardware size, and to take final measurements for the cloth. Late May/early June final installation was completed. I have now used 3 awning companies since I purchased house in 1983. Rothman is the only company I would use and recommend.

All that would have been needed to make things right would have been a phone call from them. The phone call that i made to them was handled in a extremely unprofessional manner. It set the tone that this would not be a company that I would want to do business with.

It went very well. They were very quick, efficient and neat. They had a lot of fabric to choose from.

Since we had the work done in the off season, Rothman was very quick to complete the job. We were very happy with the choice of awnings and the quality of the product as well as the installation. The company also offers a take down/set up and storage service for a fee. The only complaint I have is that they have one phone line and it is difficult to get through in the busy season.

They did a wonderful job and I couldn't be more pleased. I called Rothman's for an estimate based on Angie's List ratings. The receptionist gave my phone number to a salesman who returned the call within twenty-four hours. We set up a time for him to come to my home after normal business hours - approximately 6:00 pm. He was waiting for me on the porch when I returned home ten minutes late. He was very knowledgeable and informative and gave me the book of fabrics to peruse while he went to measure the windows in order to come up with an estimate. He estimated that they would be able to perform the job within several weeks and was on-target with his promises as the job was completed within the time frame given. Yesterday a team of three or four showed up with all the awnings and frames ready to install. Within three hours they had installed all of the awnings including ropes and cleats for the smaller awnings and the drop. My yard is a small city-type yard with small shrubs, trellises, a fence, etc. The guys were able to maneuver two or three large ladders in the enclosed space neatly and without damaging a thing. They were polite and helpful with my questions about operating the awnings and yearly storage. The awnings are absolutely beautiful, and provide exactly what I had in mind when I ordered them. I would give Rothman's an A+.

They were very good. They even offer a payment plan to pay for their services. They offer a whole list of discounts, which I think is nice. They came out on time and did a very good job. I have been very pleased. They even offer a storage plan. They will come out and take them down for me and when I give them a call they come out and put them back up.

I just wanted to update my original review from 2008. I have continued to use Rothman every year to install my awning in the spring, and to remove, clean and store it in the winter. Their service is prompt, and they do an excellent job each year. Although my awning is now six years old, it looks brand new. I highly recomment their service.

The representative came to my home and showed me all of my options and all of the different colors and materials that were available. I told him what I wanted to do, he told me that what I wanted was possible. He measured, I picked the materials and the colors, he gave me my price and my "Angie's List Discount" and also told me the time involved to make the awning. They called when this was ready and then installed the awning. I am very pleased with this service and plan to have another awning installed.

3 weeks later I had to call them to get the estimate over the phone.

Rothman sent a crew to install the metal framework while they manufactured the canvas part of the awning. They were here on time and finished the project before they said that they would. The canvas part of the awning was finished before they promised, and we were able to begin using our deck two week's before we planned. We have had Rothman take down our awning for storage and return it to us this spring.

ROTHMAN MADE OUR AWNINGS FOR FRONT PORCH AND DID A VERY NEAT JOB. THEY HAD THEM DONE IN A REASONABLE TIME AND WERE NICE TO DEAL WITH.
