Robert responded to my inquiry quickly. I submitted the request on a Friday, he stopped by to look at the job on Sunday and performed the work on Tuesday. The quality of the work was excellent. I can't even tell that the area was patched ! ! ! .
Description of Work: We had ceiling damage from a roof leak. I replaced a 2 ft. by 2 ft. piece of the ceiling and needed the patch plastered to match the rest of the textured ceiling. I originally was expecting to need the entire ceiling plastered so that it would match but Robert said that he could match it and save me a lot of money . . . which he did.

I took the wallpaper down in my foyer area and discovered that the walls were in bad shape. The walls needed to be replastered to match my ceiling and the walls in my living room, or I just needed to wallpaper again. I didn't want to wallpaper again, but I was worried that any new plaster would not match and I was also worried about all the plaster mess. I am so glad I called Robert. He matched the walls to the existing plaster and gave me tips on painting after the plaster was dry, since I wanted to paint myself. He also fixed an old repair on my ceiling where it was previously badly patched due to a leak, and I didn't even ask him to do that. Everything looked great. He cleaned up the mess. It didn't take very long. He called and let me know when he was going to be there. He brought a helper who was also very knowledgable. The job was very well done, and it was all easy for me to deal with. My husband was also pleased with the whole process.
Description of Work: A new layer of plaster was put over my foyer walls so they looked nice and could be painted.

Robert was responsive when we called for a quote for fixing weather-related plaster damage in the windows. ?We were also interested to have our basement ceiling replaced. ?Robert's suggestions were very helpful in deciding what needed to be done. ?Within a couple of weeks, Robert accommodated us on a weekend (inspire of chilly weather) and completed the job within one day. ?We were totally satisfied with the work done by Robert and his crew. ?We will definitely hire him in the future.

He was flexible. He scheduled us very quickly. He was in and out in a day which was great. The work looks nice. I would recommend him to anyone. There was one more that I had asked him to do something that was really out of his area expertise like cutting a hole in the ceiling for the ceiling fan and he agreed to do it. Finally he ended up calling one of his friend and it didn’t come out the right way and it was kind of mess. But the work that he did was good. I would be sure next time not to ask him to do anything else other than the plastering.
Description of Work: I used Robert Dell'aquila Plastering late June this year. He repaired and plastered almost half of our ceiling and living room. He also did a small piece of ceiling in the dining room and did a wall between the living room and dining room.

Robert was reliable and helpful in every respect, from returning phone calls to showing up and completing the job promptly. I really appreciate how responsive he was -- the day that I called, his son very politely took my information and then Robert got back to me within an hour or so. I explained that I had a guest coming in that weekend and I was hopeful that someone could at least come and take a look at the area (in the guest bedroom) to make sure the whole ceiling wasn't at risk. Robert offered to come out that very afternoon to assess the problem and put my mind at ease. He did the repair a few days later and left the area neat and tidy afterward. I'm no expert on plastering, so it's hard for me to truly gauge the quality and fairness of pricing. That said, my ceiling looks great and he did the work for the estimate he quoted my on the first visit. I'm very satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to use him again and recommend him to others.

Gave an estimate and performed the work a week later. Despite all the dust and debris, they cleaned the place better than I usually do when they were finished -- vacuumed, polished the floors, cleaned and mopped the porch. Very professional and friendly, and the work is beautiful.

Top-notch work. Some contractors we talked with simply wanted to hang drywall and be done with it. In contrast, Robert is the real deal, doing it the right way. He was very friendly and professional to work with, and gave us some great advice about repairing small cracks in some of our other plaster walls. If you need plaster work, he is the one to call!
Description of Work: We had two large rooms' worth of old crumbling plaster that had had paneling over it and had sustained water damage below the windows. The rooms included two fireplaces and chimneys that were only partially still covered with plaster, and a long stripe of missing plaster where a wall used to be. Robert Dell'Aquila came out to look at the job twice, both times on Saturday (very convenient for us!): first to give us a rough estimate and then again for a firm quote and to discuss what needed to be fixed before the plastering could be done. He recommended plaster-boarding over the old walls and then applying 2 new plaster layers over top of that, but also gave us an estimate for repairing the old plaster. (We went with the board option.) The fireplaces required extra-thick layers of plaster to cover the brickwork directly, without boards. It took his team of several people several days to finish this huge job, but the results were spectacular. The walls probably did not look this beautiful in1924, when the house was first built!

Bob arrived on time for the estimate and for the work. His estimate for how long the work would take was almost exact to the minute.
Description of Work: Bob & his associate repaired falling plaster around my front window. It required the insertion of plaster board and plastering around most of the window. In the process they filled in the areas where the vertical blinds had been mounted and some areas which they deemed to be weak. In our entrance hall they corrected a shoddy job performed by a previous plasterer. They went over and above what they specified they would do and stayed at the quoted priced. They left our home cleaner than it was when they arrived. They were a joy to have around and I would not hesitate to call them again if the need arises.

Plasterer arrived about 9:30. He called before arriving to advise he was on the way. Furniture and floor were covered to protect them from plaster dust. The job was completed about 2:30 the same day.
Description of Work: Dell'Aquila Plastering repaired water damaged plaster. They removed additional loose plaster and then screwed the existing plaster board to existing studs to stabilize the undamaged plaster. He replaced a portion of the plaster board as needed and and did a rough coat and a finish coat which was blended with the existing plaster.

We removed wallpaper in our kitchen and the walls were slightly uneven. I was concerned that merely painting the walls would not address the issue. I called Robert and left a message with his son and he called me back within 10 minutes. I described our kitchen job and he explained that he had a relatively large job coming up but that he thought he might be able to get our job done before that started. So, we agreed on a general time for him to come by for an estimate the next day. He said he would call me the next day to confirm the time and get directions, etc.. He called exactly as he had said and arrived at my house on time for the estimate. After looking at the walls, Robert stated that he thought the walls were actually in pretty good shape and that they just needed some joint compound and sanding. He said he was concerned about plastering the entire area because many of the walls were smaller than a trowel and that you could actually do more harm than good by re-plastering. He then gave me a hands on demonstration about how I could fix the problem areas with joint compound and light sanding (recommended the tools to use, etc.) and fixed a number of the major issues in the process. Obviously, he did not get my business for this job because I now have the confidence and knowledge to do it ourselves. However, because of his punctuality, professionalism, honest opinion, and assistance he has a customer for life!

Robert personally answered my call. Although the work that I needed done was not a big job, Robert was willing to come on a Saturday to accommodate my schedule. He scheduled me for the Saturday after my call (less than a week). He gave me an estimate over the phone just based on my description. The final price was only a few dollars more. Robert arrived on time and performed the work himself. Robert was friendly and professional. He takes obvious pride in his work. He related that he is the third generation to own this family business. Robert completed the job within a few hours. The difficult part of this job was in matching the new plaster to the existing plaster. Robert did an excellent job and no one can tell where the existing plaster ends and the new plaster begins. It blends seamlessly. Robert cleaned up thoroughly afterward. Nothing at all for me to do!

Robert returned calls promptly, gave an accurate estimate, returned within three days of the estimate to start work, and completed everything in one day (with the assistance of subcontractors). They laid drop cloths and cleaned everything to a high degree before they were done. They actively solicited my criticism and input to make sure that I was happy with the job before they left, and they encouraged me to call them if any issues arose later. I would definitely use Robert again for plastering work.

at the time, i was really pleased with his work but there were a couple things i realized later that made me reconsider using him again. first, about a week or two after he did the work, i noticed hairline cracks in 3 places in the area he fixed. i'm not sure if that's normal or if it indicates that the did the work improperly. second, i realized that while he put down tarps to protect the floor, the baseboards underneath the area where he worked were disgusting. they had been dripped on by the plaster and water he had used, then the dust from the plaster stuck to them, so it was all gummy and gross. i had to scrub them down myself, it's fine now, no permanent damage. had i noticed this before he left i would have made him fix it, but it didn't seem to be worth making him come back. it just seems like he should have noticed himself and cleaned it up before leaving.

Response from ROBERT DELL'AQUILA PLASTERING
First of all I'm very professional. I stand behind my work, am insured, and been in business since 1988. Prior to that I've worked in this field since I was 16 yrs. old. I'm a third generation plasterer and have earned my living in this trade my entire working life. I'm upset that you didn't notify me in regards to any complaints or concerns on your part. I definitely would have returned to your home to resolve any issues with the plastering and/or cleanup. I take pride in my work, including my cleanup and strive to do a professional job. It's not fair for you to make a comment and/or judgement since you have not notified me of any problems.
