Description of Work: Rick and his crew did an amazing job on our project. From the beginning Rick was professional, courteous and prompt. He provided a bid quickly and after we accepted, completely the job promptly. His crew worked quickly and completed the project faster than we anticipated. They also were happy to suggest and then take time to do a few extra things, that were a great help to us. They all went out of their way to not only do a good job, but a great job. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact Rick and his company for any future projects. Thanks again!

Description of Work: Rick and his team removed a stone retaining wall in my backyard that was falling down, and replaced it with a timber wall (he also offered the option of stone, but we went with wood). He also built a 30-foot long planter in the backyard and filled it with dirt. | |I thought every phase of the project was great. When Rick came by to do the estimate and he was extremely helpful because he presented all of the options, along with plusses and minuses. I think he is creative and has a good aesthetic sense. When it came time to do the work, he was on time. The project took three days, and at each step of the way I could tell that he was taking great care to do a high quality job. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the finished wall and planter. We are planning on having him come back in the Spring to plant some trees and do some landscaping. We recommend him highly.

+ -1 moreI was exceptionally pleased with his rapid response. I called at least a dozen contractors and none came over except Rick. He told me that I was wasting my money correcting a violation placed on my property and told me it should be challenged in court. A nasty neighbor called an inspector because she wanted me to beautify the border with her house at my expense. The inspector sent a violation but it appears it was placed by mistake and would costs thousands to correct. Once we make out a deal with the City of Pittsburgh or get the violation overturned, we will be using Rick

+ 0 moreHe came when he said he would with two workers (one is his son). They worked all day, and finished the job. I truthfully cannot say for a fact that it works, because we haven't had a really severe rain to completely test it, but I am definitely seeing an improvement in my landscaping as there is not as much water draining down my hill. This also coincided with my borough doing some work on their end, so ultimately it is hard to say what did what. Overall, I was satisfied with this job.
Description of Work: They dug a "swail" to capture water that I had coming down from a hill. They also extended a french drain and tied it into a storm drain. Rick seemed very knowledgeable to me and explored several options before deciding on what he thought would be best. He also didn't try to push me to do something that could be very expensive, just so he could make more money. I appreciated that.

I was lucky because he had a small window due to the weather. It took 2 days to do the work (the lawn was in very bad shape). I am very, very pleased with the outcome. I will be hiring him again later to remodel a small water feature. I highly recommend him. He really knows what he is doing and is very professional.
Description of Work: Rick cleaned up my front and back yard, which required extensive weeding and trimming.

He listened to what what I was asking for (which many landscape contractors seem to ignore). When I asked for something he couldn't do, he explained why not. He suggested alternate ways of handling problems. He has great attention to detail and wanted to "make things look right." Thorough clean-up on completion. I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome of the project!

Our house is on a hillside and the design is quite modern so I was concerned when it came to finding someone who would "get" what we were looking for. Right away Rick seemed to understand what we were trying to do; having the house and landscape work together. In the end, it was better than I could have imagined...we love it. Now we can't wait for him to do the waterfall!
Description of Work: Our house is fairly new construction on a hillside which created some challenges. Rick designed the landscaping for the front and two side areas of the house. They killed and cleared weeds, put in the plants and trees, created a beautiful dry creek bed and then mulched the entire area. It is beautiful and they only took two days to complete our dream landscape.
